Finally did it...my very first crossover story, and my QAF muse has come back home too. So I hope you'll enjoy this new story. For those who love Spartacus (and especially Agron and Nasir) you'll know them well. This story is set during the revolt of the slaves of Rome between 73 B.C. and 71 B.C. I have done my best to be as accurate to true history as I can, but the story is based on the way history is told by the Starz series, 'Spartacus'. I've changed Brian and Justin's names slightly to fit what was used in that time period. All the names I've used for characters are accurate according to my research. At the beginning none of the four men have met and spent any time together. I promise you, that will change quite quickly. The Agron/Nasir part of the story is more canon, while the Brian (Brion)/Justin (Justinus) part of the story is certainly AU. I hope you will enjoy the blending of these two magnificent couples.

About this AU: This is a total AU in my opinion. It is set a few years in the future. It is canon up to the end of season four but then it goes on from there. There will be Brian with other men and Justin with other men but anyone who has read anything I’ve written will know that I believe it will be Brian and Justin forever. So hang in there through the rough moments. Feedback is appreciated. I am learning at this so please try to be constructive where you see room for improvement. I must warn you that it is angsty and sad but would it be a Mouse fic if it weren’t ? Who knows maybe someone will find it so ridiculously angsty and sad that they will even note it in their live journal for being ridiculous. (wink)

It is the Winter of 1944 in occupied France. The allies have landed and slowly, so slowly, made their attempt to push to the borders of Germany. Sergeant Brian Kinney is too busy trying to keep his men alive and do his duty to worry about anything else, much less a personal life. Every thing changes one day when one of his men, recently killed in an ambush, is replaced with a raw new recruit, Private Justin Taylor. The kid looks like he's barely out of High School and totally wet behind the ears. The Sarge is not happy, especially when without warning Sergeant Kinney finds himself fighting a different kind of war than the one on the battlefield. I am dedicating this story to my 83 year old Dad who served bravely and honorably in WWII and the Vietnam War. I am also dedicating this story to all the GLBT men and women who also served with honor, but in silence throughout history.
