Chapter 4: December 4 You need to be home with me Alone with me Holding me next to the Christmas tree Kissing under the mistletoe As candles blow Blitzen was busily flying around the loft. She laughed out loud when she placed the mistletoe above the entrance of the loft door. She would make sure that she mentioned this tiny little thing to Gus as soon as Mister Taylor entered the loft. Right now, the two Kinney men were grocery shopping for the evening. Mister Kinney had decided, immediately after he'd invited Mister Taylor for dinner, that he would cook himself. Still, he'd made sure that the card for his favourite Thai place was close by, should in case She still had to smile about Gus' amused expression when he watched his father place the card visible on the fridge. something should happen. *************** While Brian and Gus were grocery shopping and discussing what exactly they should cook to impress Justin, the same blond was standing in front of his wardrobe. He just couldn't decide what to wear. He couldn't wear something sexy because there was still a child to think of. Rudolph watched the drama unfold and shook his head. Humans really were stupid from time to time. Right now Justin was running around his apartment like a chicken with his head cut off. "It's time to interfere again," he mumbled and nodded. Out of nowhere, a blue wifebeater and a new pair blue jeans appeared in the back of Justin's wardrobe. With another nod, a pair of Prada boots appeared, close to Justin's old pair of worn sneakers. With a slightly irritated look, Justin pulled the clothes out and looked at them. For the life of him, he couldn't remember ever buying these clothes, but with a shrug of his shoulders he pulled the wifebeater over his bare chest. He frowned when he thought about his worn pair of sneakers which currently stood by the door. Sighing, he went over to them and was surprised to see a new pair of boots standing beside his sneakers. Something was seriously wrong. He could've forgotten the blue wifebeater and the blue jeans, but NEVER these Prada boots. Prada boots for Christ's sake! He'd have had to work for a year, at least, to buy them, and they looked like they were from new collection too. Sitting on Justin's lunch table, Rudolph was painfully red. He hadn't thought about things like Justin noticing these tiny details. There was so much crap in his wardrobe that he'd seriously thought the blond wouldn't notice. He just wanted Justin to finally leave his apartment for the dinner with Mr. Kinney and Gus, and to stop getting on his nerves. Suddenly his mother appeared laughing beside him. "So honey, how far is Mr. Taylor with his preparations for his 'date'?" As an answer Rudolph only sighed and nodded in Justin's direction. "Nice clothes. I take it he's getting on your nerves a little?" Blitzen replied and laughed out loud. Rudolph just shrugged his shoulders, which was answer enough for his mother. "So tell me, mother, what has put you in such a good mood?" Blitzen laughed out loud again when she thought about the situation which had got her to pay her son a visit in the first place. "Let's just say it really was a Kodak moment when Mr. Kinney entered his loft and tried to explain to his son who did hang the Christmas decorations. He was totally confused," Blitzen answered and when Rudolph tried to imagine his mother's Christmas spirit in comprehension to Mr. Kinney's non-existent one, he had to laugh too. "I take it dad didn't like it as much as you did," Rudolph stated and looked at Blitzen. "No, he didn't. He had to listen to Mr. Kinney's thoughts. But I seriously don't care. At least Gus has noticed the mistletoe above the door." *************** "Promise me that you will wait for Justin at the door, dad," Gus said and pulled at his father's hand. Brian who was busily mixing the different ingredients for the marble cake for dessert together, turned to his son. He smirked. This would definitely give him an innocent excuse to kiss the blond bombshell. One tradition he would fulfill for his son, a kiss under the mistletoe. "I promise you, Sonnyboy. I'll wait for Justin at the door," Brian answered and smiled at his son. "Gus, could you set the table please? I'll just check the chicken parmesan. I just hope Justin will be on time." He turned around to the oven and was glad to see that he wouldn't have to call the take-out place. What Brian didn't know was, that Donner and Blitzen were also watching him cook dinner, and changing a thing or two in the recipe. "I think I understand why Brian always orders take-out. I mean, if we didn't help, dinner would have been a mess!" Blitzen told Donner and smiled. "Hi mom. Hi dad," Rudolph said when he appeared out of a cloud beside his parents. "Hi Rudy," both answered at the same time and looked at the loft door when they heard a knock (was to be heard). Brian ruffled Gus' hair, tossed the apron he was wearing on the kitchen counter and went over to the door. He opened the door smiling. "Hi Justin," he said, as he leant down and kissed the blond. What Brian hadn't expected were the feelings that the kiss awakened in him. Giving in to his feelings, he pulled the blond closer and he could suddenly see the scenes that Justin had portrayed at the GLC playing in front of his closed eyes. Frightened, he pulled away, while Justin slowly opened his eyes with an dreamy expression in his eyes. Gus was standing at the kitchen counter and wasn't really surprised at his dad's reaction to the kiss he and Justin had shared. He looked over to the oven and smiled when he saw the three fairies sitting on it. "You know that because we used too much magic in this loft that little Gus is now able to us, don't you?" Donner said and looked worried over to Gus. Both, his son and his wife nodded. "It took longer than I thought it would," Blitzen said smiling, flew over to Gus, sat down on his shoulder and kissed his cheek. *************** While Gus was talking to Blitzen and later on to Donner and Rudolph too, who had joined Blitzen on Gus' shoulder, Brian and Justin were in their own world. Still totally out of it, because of the kiss they'd shared, Brian led Justin over to the table. When Justin was finally sitting, Brian lit the candles on the table, even if he couldn't remember ever buying such lesbianic things as candles. "I like the decoration of your loft very much. You did a good job," Justin said when he finally came out of his funk. "Thank you," Brian answered, even if he still didn't know who did it. "Gus, come on. Dinner's ready," Brian said, when he went over to the kitchen and filled the plates with a light chicken soup. He also shifted the handle of the oven to stand by, so that the chicken parmesan would stay warm. He served the meal, and couldn't help himself, he just had to run his hand through Justin's blond strands. Justin simply turned his head and smiled at Brian. Gus just rolled his eyes at the stupid smile on his father's face. *************** "Dinner was wonderful, Brian," Justin said, smiling dreamily and somehow dumbstruck. "Thank you," he answered, even if he was still amazed himself at how good dinner had tasted. "I have to agree, dad, it tasted better than ever," Gus said while he glanced sideways to look at the three smirking fairies. "Thanks, Sonnyboy," his father answered and ruffled Gus' hair when he passed him while clearing the table. Gus groaned and looked at his watch, which showed that it already was past his bedtime. Frowning, he looked at his dad. "Dad? Do we go Christmas tree shopping tomorrow?" he asked when his father sat down at the table again and handed Justin a glass of white wine. "Sure Gus," Brian answered and looked over to Justin, an idea popping into his head. "How about you come with us? You don't have anything better planned, do you?" he asked him, while he gently held on to Justin's hand. Justin just shook his head and smiled at Brian, and turned his head to give Gus a questioning look. "It's okay with me too, Justin, nothing to worry about, as long as you can't stand my father's bitching about all the happy couples it's okay with me," Gus answered and laughed about the shocked expression on his father's face. "So, I'll see you tomorrow. I'm going to bed now," he said and went to his room, followed by "sleep tights" from both Brian and Justin. -End Chapter 4-
