Brian came inside the diner and walked towards Justin. The blonde was sitting on one of the stools reading the paper. “Hey.” Brian said. Justin looked up and smiled. “What are you doing here?” Justin asked. “Look, we can’t go out today. I have to fly to Chicago. I’ll make it up to you.” Brian told him, looking at his watch. “It was a last minute thing.” Justin frowned and nodded. “Are you mad?” Brian asked him, seeing the face Justin was making. “No.” Justin said. Brian looked at him and knew Justin was upset. “Look, I have to go. I just got a promotion and I need to prove to them that they made the right choice.” Brian explained. “Okay. I’ll be okay. We can go out some other time.” Brian nodded before he turned around and left. Justin stayed there feeling like crap. He wanted Brian to spend more time with him, but Brian was never around. He decided that a night out with Ethan wouldn’t be bad. *** Justin opened his eyes and smiled at Ethan. Ethan pulled him closer. “I have to go.” Justin told him. “What? Why?” Ethan asked as he sat on the bed. “Debbie has a curfew. I have to be there before midnight.” Justin told him. “I wish you would stay here.” Ethan told him. Justin smiled at him as he got dressed. “Maybe some other time.” Justin said. Ethan nodded. “Do you want to go out tomorrow to see a movie or something?” “I’ll call you and let you know if I can. Sometimes my schedule changes.” Justin said. Ethan smiled and got up from bed. He hugged Justin and kissed him but the blond pulled back. “Why are you acting like this?” Ethan asked. “How?” “Like you don’t want to be in my arms?” Ethan asked. Justin licked his lips. “I was mad at Brian.” Justin said. “I don’t know why I did this.” “What the fuck does that mean?” Ethan asked angrily. “I think I made a mistake. I…I’m not sure.” Justin told him. “What does he mean to you? You said he was only a friend.” Ethan whispered. “He’s more than that.” Justin said. “I love him.” Ethan closed his eyes and took a step back. “I love you too.” Justin explained. “You are playing with me.” “No.” Justin told him. “Just go.” Ethan told him. Justin stared at Ethan before he finished getting dressed and collected his things. “Justin.” Justin turned around and looked at Ethan. “You can come back when he is not…your friend anymore. I won’t share you. I love you.” Ethan said. Justin smiled and nodded before he left. His mind was running in circles. He didn’t know who he wanted to be with anymore. *** Daphne hugged Justin tightly. “Daphne! Let me breathe.” Justin told her. Daphne laughed and let him go. “What are you doing here?” Justin asked. “You live here.” Daphne told him. “I know that. I mean here in Pittsburgh.” Justin told her. “You were here just a while ago. You are not letting your school work drop just to see me, are you?” “Nah, I’m okay. I just thought that taking the weekend to come and visit you would be great since we don’t have class on Monday and Tuesday.” Daphne explained. “I see. I’m so happy to see you.” Justin told her. Daphne nodded and sat next to him. “Let me see your belly.” Daphne demanded. Justin laughed and pulled his shirt up. “You can see it a little.” Daphne told him. “Wow. Why is it so small? If I didn’t know you were pregnant, I wouldn’t see the change.” “I’m only four months pregnant, Daphne.” Justin told her. “Plus I was really skinny, remember?” Daphne rolled her eyes and then put her ear to Justin’s stomach. “You are such freak.” Justin said laughing. She pulled back but let her hand linger there. “So what’s going on with you and Brian?” Daphne asked. Justin shrugged. “What about you and Ethan?” Daphne asked. “We slept together. I…let him fuck me…but…it wasn’t the same.” Justin admitted. “I love him…I just don’t love him like I love Brian.” Daphne smiled and nodded. She understood what her friend meant. “Well, I think you should tell Brian about the baby.” “I am.” Justin said smiling. “I think he loves me. He just…I don’t know. He can be so stubborn sometimes. But then I realized that it doesn’t matter how hard I have to try with him…the result is great and feels ten times better than what Ethan gives me so easy.” Justin said. “Well, I think you are doing the right thing.” Daphne told him, happy with her friend’s choice. Justin smiled and nodded. *** Brian saw Justin sitting in a booth with a girl and walked towards them. “So, is this Daphne?” Brian asked smirking. “Are you Brian?” Daphne asked as she got up and offered her hand to Brian. Brian shook her hand and sat down next to Justin as Daphne sat across from them. “I have heard a lot about you.” Daphne said smiling. “Is that so?” Brian asked smirking. Daphne nodded. “You are hotter than you were described.” “Glad you think so.” Brian said smirking. “So, Sunshine, miss me?” Justin smiled and nodded. Brian smiled and kissed Justin’s cheek. He smiled when he saw Justin looking at him and blushing. He loved that he could still do that to Justin. “What the hell are you eating?” Brian asked, looking at Justin’s food. “A tuna melt.” Justin told him. “What the hell is that?” Brian asked, pointing at the white gravy that was covering the tuna melt. “Ranch dressing.” Justin said and dug in with his forked to grab a bite. “Have you gone mad?” Brian asked. Daphne laughed and with her eyes tried to tell Justin that now would be a perfect time to tell Brian. Justin just ignored her because he didn’t know how he wanted to tell Brian. “It’s really good.” Justin told him with his mouth full. “I’ll take your word for it.” Brian told him. “So, do you kiddies want to have a wonderful night out?” “Where are we going?” Justin asked. “We could go to Woody’s and then Babylon.” Brian said. “Sure.” Justin said. “Great.” Daphne told them. “I have never been there.” “That’s because you are straight but we’ll help you out and you will be as cool as us.” Brian told her. Daphne laughed. “Hey, Justin.” Ethan said, walking up to the table. “Ethan.” Justin said surprised. “Hi, how are you doing?” “Good.” Ethan told him, smiling. Brian looked up at Ethan and Ethan looked back at Brian. Daphne couldn’t believe what was going on. The only thing she knew was if they started fighting she would help Brian. Justin took a deep breath and pushed his plate away, not feeling hungry anymore. “So, what are you doing here?” Justin asked. “I wanted to see you.” Ethan said. Brian got up and stepped in front of Ethan. “Well, I think you should go. There isn’t anything here for you to see.” Brian spat out. “Who the fuck do you think you are?” Ethan asked, standing his ground. “Ethan.” Justin said getting up. “I think you should go.” “What about us?” Ethan asked. “We were so perfect together.” Brian flinched momentarily before he put up a front. Justin stood there not sure what he was going to say or do. “Just leave.” Justin said dryly. “How can you be like this?” Ethan asked as he tried to touch Justin. Brian grabbed Ethan’s arm and pushed him back. “Back off.” Brian said. “You don’t tell me…” Ethan said but was cut short. Brian grabbed him by the collar and pulled him closer to him. “You leave Justin the fuck alone.” Brian hissed. “Or I’ll make sure to break each and everyone of your fingers in three different parts.” Ethan sucked in a deep breath. “You wouldn’t.” “Try me.” Brian told him angrily. “Brian, what’s going on?” Michael asked. Michael had come through the door to find Brian and some guy arguing. He had started to walked towards them, trying to find out what was going on, when Brian grabbed the guy by the collar. “Nothing.” Brian said. “He was just leaving.” Justin walked over to Brian and put his arm around the brunet. Ethan looked at him for a moment before he fixed his shirt and turned to leave. “What the hell is going on?” Michael asked. “Forget it.” Brian said. “Justin?” Michael asked. Justin shook his head. “I think I’m just going to go home.” Justin said. “Are you sure?” Daphne asked as she too got up. “Come on, Justin.” Brian said putting an arm around Justin’s shoulder. “I’m going to show you how to play pool.” Justin looked up at Brian amazed. He thought the man would want to kill him after what had happened. Daphne smiled happily. “So, Michael. Have you met Daphne?” Brian asked as he walked with Justin. Michael and Daphne smiled at each other before they followed the couple. *** Justin looked around and wondered where everyone had gone. They had all been here when he arrived. .He had been trying to build up some strength when suddenly he felt like puking his guts out. He wasn’t sure if it was because he was scared or just the pregnancy. He had only been gone to the bathroom for a couple of minutes. The next thing he knew, everyone had disappeared. “Hey.” “Emmett.” Justin said, smiling. “Where is everyone?” “Well, Teddy left saying he had to work and Brian and Michael are dancing.” Emmett said, pointing at them. “Oh.” “Do you want anything to drink?” Emmett asked. “I can buy you a beer.” “Water would be fine.” Justin told him. Emmett nodded and went to get it. “Thanks.” Justin said, taking the water when Emmett came back. Emmett nodded and looked at Brian and then back at Justin. “What’s going on between you and Brian?” Emmett asked. Justin looked at the tall man and shook his head. “Nothing.” “Really? You could have fooled me.” Emmett told him. “Why is that?” Justin asked. Emmett shrugged. “The way you look at him and he looks at you. You look like people in love.” Emmett told him. Justin looked at him, a little surprised, before he shook his head and took a sip of his water. Michael and Brian came back and Brian took Justin’s water and drank a sip while he watched Justin with a little smirk. Emmett was watching them. Justin was trying to gather all the courage in the world so he could tell Brian he was pregnant. It had taken an entire week and various calls from Daphne for him to finally gather enough strength to tell Brian. “I’m having so much fun.” Michael said. “I’m going to go get a beer. Do you want one?” Brian looked at his friend and nodded. He turned his attention back to Justin. “Want to dance?” Brian asked. “I don’t think so.” Justin told him. “When did you get here?” Brian asked. “Just a few minutes ago.” Justin lied. “You smell so good.” Brian whispered in Justin’s ear. Justin looked at Emmett who was smirking at them. He looked back at Brian and bit his lower lip. “I need to talk to you.” Justin told him. “It’s important.” “What is it?” Brian asked, straightening his body. “Is it about that guy?” “What?” Justin asked. “Don’t tell me you change your mind and realized he’s the one you want to be with.” Brian hissed. Justin opened his eyes wide and shook his head. “Brian, I think you should lay off the drugs just for a while.” Justin whispered. “Was that a joke, Sunshine?” Brian asked smirking. Justin smiled and then frowned. “So, what’s wrong?” Brian asked. “Well, I…” “What?” Brian asked when Justin seemed to be lost in space. “I’m…” Justin started but never finished. “Here you go.” Michael said. “This is the life huh, Brian? No worries at all.” Brian smiled and nodded. “So what is it?” Brian asked, looking at Justin. Justin was frowning. He was now thinking how Brian’s life was and what he was about to tell him. It would surely put a dent in Brian’s lifestyle. Justin looked up and smiled at Brian. He shook his head and just turned around to leave. “Where are you going?” Brian asked. “I have to go.” Justin said, turning around to look at Brian. “Come dance with us.” Michael said to Justin. “You’ll have fun.” Justin shook his head. “Justin.” Brian protested. Justin turned around and just left. “What’s with him?” Michael asked. Brian shrugged. “Forget it. You know how he acts sometimes.” Michael said. Brian nodded. “Come on, let’s dance until we drop.” Michael told him putting his beer away. Brian looked at Michael and then at Emmett who was giving him a knowing smile. He put his beer down and gave Emmett one last look before he walked to the dance floor with Michael. He couldn’t shake the odd feeling that something was going on with Justin. He wanted to help, but he would just have to wait and see what it was. He knew that sooner or later Justin would tell him.
