Justin's POV
A Week Later
Before I know it, we are arriving in New York. Before we got on the plane, I had asked the security guards who guard my apartment to meet us at the airport. I'm not taking any chances . The pilot's voice comes over the speakers telling us that we are about to land.
We do, and then everyone begins to exit the plane slowly. I see my guards standing in the crowd, and I quickly lead my family though the crowd, to meet up with my guards. What sucks is that since I'm semi-famous in the art world, that I have to have guards at all.
It makes going clubbing damn near impossible. Sighing, I motion for them to lead the way to our transportation. They do, and we follow them. We all get into the two cars, a guard in each car. I'm driving the back car, and Kevin is driving the front car.
In my car, it's me, my mom, Tucker, and Terri, my female guard. I asked Mitch, my other guard, to ride with the others. I felt my mom would feel better having a female guard in our car. We all get settled in, and Kevin's group is driving in front of us.
I felt that it would be safer for me to be the tail end, in case something were to happen. We get onto Cherish Street, and suddenly someone rear ends me. The car jerks forward, and we hit Kevin and the others, who quickly turn and get out of my way.
The person rear ends me again, and I hear my mother start freaking out. Terri is already pulling her gun out, when I hiss, "No!" at her. She rolls her eyes, and then listens to me. "It's him," She tells me, letting me know that it's Shane.
He rear ends me again, and before I can stop it, we crash head on into another car. My mother screams for Tucker, and then there is the sound of metal crunching and glass breaking. My chest hits the steering wheel, and to my horror and shock, no airbag comes out.
The pain rushes through me, and I can't move. The last thing I hear, is myself asking, "Jamie?" Then I fall into darkness. It's later, though I don't know how much later, when I can open my eyes again. I'm still trapped in the car, and the pain makes me want to scream.
It's night now, and I can hear several voices. I recognize some of them, and I realize they got Terri, Tucker, and my mother out. "Jamie?" My voice is soft and weak, and it hurts to speak, but I have to. Then I remember the other vehicle. "Black... jeep..."
Someone hears me speaking, thank God. They quickly come over to me, and start asking me all kind of questions. "No.... questions... Black.... jeep...." The pain in my chest is getting worse, and so I ask, "Is.... an.... ambulance.... coming?"
The person tells me yes, and then explains that they couldn't get me out of the car, because it was too crushed. "Black.... jeep...." I repeat myself. The person tells me that they got the man out of the black jeep, and that they are treating his shoulder.
"What.... happened?" The person begins to explain that the man in the jeep, had a large piece of metal pierce through his shoulder. They also tell me, that it will have to be imoblized for several weeks. I nod, and then say, "Hurts... to... breathe.."
Apparently I passed out again. Because the next time I open my eyes, I'm in a hospital room. I squint, trying to get my eyes used to the light, when I realize that I'm not alone. I look over at the other bed, and see the person who was in the jeep.
I look away, and then it hits me, as to who I hit. It was... Brian?! Oh my God. I look back at Brian, to see that he is doped up on medication, and is still out cold. I'm aware of the pain in my chest again, so I reach for the button to call the nurse.
I press the button, and then say, "Chest... pains..." It's all I can get out, since it still hurts to speak. A moment later, a nurse's voice comes through the button, saying, "I understand, Mr. Taylor. I'll send someone in to increase your dosage of medication."
I fall back against my pillows, and try to ignore the pain inside of me, that I feel every time I breathe. A few minutes later, a nurse walks in. She checks on the bandages on my chest, and then she sticks a needle with some medication into the IV in my hand.
I thank her, and then she nods and walks over to Brian. The nurse checks his pulse, and his breathing. Then she smiles at me, and leaves the room again. I wonder what happened to everyone else. Part of me wants to know how Jamie is.
But the other part of me is scared that she is hurt, and I don't want to hear that my daughter is hurt. Suddenly, the door opens again. A doctor walks in, and introduces himself as Dr. Freeman. He checks me over, and then tells me that I'm lucky.
He talks for several minutes, before I can't take it anymore. "How are... the others?" Dr. Freeman looks at me, and then tells me that everyone else is okay. He tells me that everyone else only has minor cuts and bruises. I ask to see my family, but he says no.
When I ask why, he says that a strange man and woman talked about rushing them to an apartment, and I groan inwardly. I had almost forgotten that all of this mess was because of Shane. Shit. This is just fucking perfect. Just what we need now.
I hear a noise, and realize that Brian is starting to come to. The doctor finishes speaking to me, and then he goes over to Brian, and starts to fill the man in on everything that has happened. I watch him open his eyes. He looks at the doctor, and then at me. Shit.
