Justin ran towards the “Endeavour”, trying to help Brian, who had some problems with fighting Chris. Then Brian stumbled over a rope and lost his balance for a short moment and Hobbs took the chance and his sword made contact with Brian’s left side. 

“NO!” Justin had to get to his lover before it was over. He climbed on the railing and swung himself with the help of a rope on deck of the other ship. He ran towards the two fighting men but suddenly was pulled back by a pair of strong arms. 

“Ssh… Justin, stop! It’s me!” The grip loosened and Justin turned around to look at Vic’s face. “What were you trying to do? He will kill you!” Vic’s finger pointed in Brian’s and Chris’ direction. 

“Vic! You don’t understand! I need to help him! He will die!” Justin looked desperate at Brian and stood up, giving Vic a last look and ran towards the two fighting men. Brian was still lying on the ground and Hobbs was above him and slowly raised his sword. 

Brian saw Justin running towards them. The guy above him hadn’t seen him. He had to do something! Justin didn’t seem to be the type who could fight. He tried to get up but the pain in his abdomen was too much. He saw Justin approximating. 

“Do you have anything to say before I kill you, pirate?” The guy above him asked Brian with an evil grin. He raised his sword a little bit higher. 

Justin had now reached Brian and Chris. He wanted to grab Chris’ hand, in which he held his sword but then Chris felt Justin’s present behind him and he turned around, now facing the blond. 

“Oh well, look who we have here. Isn’t it the little drama princess? You know, if I kill you know, nobody will suspect me. Everyone will think these filthy pirates did it.” Chris smirked and held his sword at Justin’s throat. 

But Chris hadn’t thought about Brian since he had noticed Justin. Brian grabbed his bodkin from his belt and rammed it in Chris’ leg. 

Hobbs’ sword fell on the ground and he sank on the ground while Brian twisted his bodkin a couple of times.

Justin and Brian stood on the “Queen” next to each other and watched the “Endeavour” and her crew burn down. It had been a hard fight for the pirates but they had managed it without loosing a man and with only a few injuries. 

“Brian? Uh… I mean… Captain?” Justin didn’t turn his eyes from the “Endeavour”. He hadn’t seen Vic since he had rushed over to help Brian.  He was the reason for Vic’s dead. If he had only stayed with the old man he could have saved him from the pirates. 

Vic was the only one, Justin spilled tears for. He had never liked the rest of the crew and he didn’t feel sorry for them, especially for Hobbs. 

“God! What am I gonna do from now on?” Justin thought. Since he had been on the “Queen” he had often thought about what he could do when they would reach the next harbour. 

He had thought about going back to his father but it wasn’t like he really wanted to go back there. It would only mean getting more punishments because he wasn’t the man his father wanted him to be. But he couldn’t stay here either. He didn’t know anything about being on a ship. Maybe if Vic had been still alive, he could have lived with Vic and his sister. Vic had always told him about his sister but Justin had never met her. How could he look her in the eyes when he was the reason Vic had died? 

Tears were now rolling down his cheek and he turned around and buried his face in Brian’s chest and began to sob while Brian laid his arms around the young blond. His wound had been cleaned and vetted. Life wasn’t faire. Vic had always been a good man. Why had they killed him? The anger welled up in Justin and his fists began to hit Brian’s chest but Brian’s grip only tightened.  

“Why?” Justin cried out and looked through tear-filled eyes at him. Brian didn’t know what Justin meant but tried to sooth him. He couldn’t help but feel protective for the boy in his arms, he cared. 
“Ssh… it’s ok”
“How can you say that? Why did you… why did you have to kill Vic?” Justin’s sobs were getting stronger but he held eye contact with Brian. It was as if there were only Brian and Justin, the others had vanished from their minds for the moment.  

A cough got them out of their thoughts and Justin turned around and looked shocked at the man standing in front of him. 

He jumped into the older man’s arms and hugged him. 

“Vic! How… Why aren’t you…?” Justin couldn’t form a full sentence but Vic understood. 

With his thump, Vic wiped a tear away from Justin’s cheek. “Well, do you remember the story I’ve told you about my sis and her two sons?” Vic grinned and Justin nodded but didn’t quite understand.

 “Well, let me introduce you to Captain Brian Kinney, my surrogate nephew, and Michael – come here! – my nephew” 

Brian slung his arms around Justin’s belly and kissed him lightly on the neck. He quietly whispered in the blond’s ear “Welcome to the family, Sunshine” 

Emmett came up behind Vic and tapped him on the shoulder. “Now, old man! Wanna tell me some more secrets how to cure an injured pirate, just like old times?” Vic laughed and followed the tall man, who had slung an arm around his waist, under deck. 
  
Justin snuggled into Brian’s embrace and smiled from ear to ear and watched the flames which were still dancing around the remains of the “Endeavour”. 

He knew now what to do with his life and it - as sure as hell - wasn’t going back to the man he called father.

The next morning, they reached the little village where Brian and Michael grew up. Vic finally got to see his beloved sister again after quite some time. 17 years ago he had gone to Jennifer, his dead partner Greg’s sister. She had given birth to a boy only a few weeks before and he had promised Greg, his partner, to stop being a pirate and to keep an eye on her and his nephew for him because of Jennifer’s husband, who was known for getting in frays. Greg had been scared for their safety and Vic had promised him on his deathbed to never leave the side of the young Taylor until he found the right person and he tried to stand by his commitment.

The crew was unloading the ship when Vic and Mickey heard a loud voice.

“VIC? IS THAT YOU?” 

Vic let go of the chest he was carrying and ran to his sister and embraced her. Debbie gave him a smashing hug. 

“Why the fuck are you here? And where are my sons?” She smiled from ear to ear, not believing to see her brother in front of her. 

“Well, sis… it is a loooong story. I’ll tell you later, ok?”

Meanwhile Justin and Brian were still in Brian’s cabin. Justin lay half-way under a white bed sheet in Brian’s arms and Brian’s fingers caressed his arm. 

“Do you think it is ok?” Justin looked at Brian and kissed his chest. Brian looked down and met a pair of deep blue eyes. 

“Sure” he leaned down and kissed the full lips while pulling the light body tighter to his own. “She will love you so don’t worry.” 

Justin nodded and closed his eyes to enjoy the moment. He was lying in the arms of the man he loved. He had decided to start a new chapter of his life, a life as a pirate. Justin smiled at that thought. He opened his eyes again and looked at Brian, smirking. Yes, Brian would teach him everything he would need to know.

“Well… wanna play another round before we leave the ship and meet your mom?” Justin’s hand wandered under the bed sheet and began to rub over Brian’s cock. Brian moaned and pulled Justin to his mouth and gave him a kiss, filled with passion and lust.
