“Are you ready?” Brian asks before knocking the door. Quickly answering it, Molly grins, “How do I look?” Brian can’t help but smile, “Fabulous.” Closing the door behind her, she looks around, “Where’s Justin?” “Downstairs with the band… he’s a perfectionist.” Walking over to the elevator, she sighs, “It’s my birthday.” Brian nods, “Happy birthday.” “I’m thirteen.” “No shit?” “Shut up,” she teases. Smiling, he gently knocks his body against hers. Laughing, she quickly regains her balance, “You’re worse than Justin.” Entering the elevator, she sighs once again. “Do you always sigh this much? I haven’t noticed before,” Brian comments as he stares at the descending numbers in front of him. She sighs again for added effect. Brian sighs loudly. She laughs, “Stop.” Smiling, he sighs again. “You made your point, Brian.” “Are you…. (sigh)… sure?” “Shut up,” she chuckles, shaking her head. The doors open and Brian is glad to see her smiling again. “Right this way, Miss Thirteen Year Old.” Taking his hand, Molly lets Brian guide her towards the reception room. She frowns, “The reception room? Brian it’s just us three, four if you count Carl…” Opening the door, Justin can’t contain his excitement as he yells, “Surprise!!!” Molly stands there, shocked. Her three best friends: Joanne, Christy and Emily stand there, grinning from ear to ear with their parents and siblings. “Happy Birthday!” They cheer. Brian touches her shoulder, “You should go mingle with your friends.” Turning to her future brother-in-law, she whispers, “You did this for me?” “Justin and I wanted to give you something special. What better gift than having your friends stay with you for a week?” “A week?!” Molly shrieks with happiness. Justin joins them, “One floor below ours: parents on one side and your three amigos on the other… you can join them if you want, or you can keep your room up here.” She stands there, trying to process everything, and suddenly her three best friends that mean so much to her are beside her: hugging her and crying and Molly realizes that this is the best birthday she’s ever had. Pulling Justin away from the crowd, Brian kisses him softly on the lips. “Missed me?” Smiling, he wraps his arms around his lover, “It’s so good to see Molly really smiling again.” Brian nods, and in his usual tongue-in-cheek fashion, adds, “But don’t think that teeny-bopper crew is going to be with us on our honeymoon.” Laughing, Justin shakes his head, kissing Brian softly. “I so love you, Brian.” “Doesn’t everyone?”
