When Robert came back from the fight he was laughing furiously. “What? Why are you laughing like a crazy person?” “Andy dearest, tonight I met the most beautiful girl in the world,” Robert said. Andy felt that his friend was living in a dream. “Really? How was she?” Andrew asked. He thought Robert killed her. He couldn’t imagine the girl was still alive after all she was a hunter too. Of course, Andrew was cynical about that since women didn’t interest him very much. He preferred guys. There was one guy who really made him lose his mind but he didn’t really know where he was or if he was still alive. “She was perfect. Her raspberry lips are so delicious.” “Wait a moment. Why did you say are instead of was ? “ “What’s the matter? She’s still alive. I couldn’t allow myself to waste such a beautiful girl for a kill.” “So you didn’t kill her?” Andy asked and Robert nodded. “Have you got any idea what kind of idiot you are?” “Hey, calm down. I said I didn’t kill her, but I didn’t say I won’t. I have to be careful since she’s a vampire hunter.” At the words “vampire hunter” Andrew became crazy. He didn’t think his friend was so stupid. “So, let me see, you attack a vampire hunter and you don’t kill her because she’s a beautiful girl. Am I right?” “It’s not exactly like that. I would’ve killed her but Raf stopped me.” “Raf Tizner? The vampire who denied his race?” Andrew asked trying to control his rage. Raf Tizner was Andrew’s eternal enemy. Andy had attempted to kill him many times but never succeeded. The reason he hated Raf so much was that he couldn’t understand how a vampire could deny his own race. There was a time when the two were friends after Raf had become a vampire. It was a difficult time for Raf. He was confused about himself and he didn’t really feel like a vampire. It was quite the contrary; instead, he felt the need to kill his own race and he felt destined for something bigger and Andrew couldn’t forgive him for that. In fact, Andrew didn’t really give a damn about his friend killing his own race. What he couldn’t forgive Raf for was his presumptuousness of believing he was made for bigger things. ******** “I see you won Robert’s heart, congratulations,” Raf mocked Scarlett but the vampire hunter didn’t feel like joking and she jumped on the vampire causing him to fall. “Hey calm down, Warrior Princess, I don’t want to fight.” “Oh really?! Then why should a vampire save my life if he doesn’t want to kill me himself?” “That’s right, I saved your life… at least you could show me a bit of gratitude.” “Listen, even if you’re a good-looking vampire, I don’t have time to waste. So let’s cut to the chase.” “Okay― okay, listen my name is Raf Tizner.” “You’re the vampire who denied his own race?” “That’s right. How do you know about me?” Raf asked, surprised. He didn’t expect the girl knew his story. “Well, let’s just say that I study a lot,” Scarlett replied. “I’m glad. So do you understand that I’m not dangerous?” “Yeah, I know everything about you.” “You’re talking as if I was some kind of superstar.” “Well, with your appearance you could become one.” “Now who’s the one that’s joking?” Raf asked. “Sorry. Even though I wasn’t totally joking. I thought you were older.” “I’m 420 years old.” “I meant your appearance. You look like you’re 20.” “Well, what can I say? The vampire who vamped me liked their boys young.” ********************************************************** “How do you feel?” “My right shoulder hurts,” Andrew said to his friend Robert. “Are you still angry with me… Andy? Come on I’m talking to you.” “I’m not exactly angry. I’m just annoyed. You’ve been impudent. That could cost you your life.” “I think you’re exaggerating about Raf. I don’t know what the hell he’s doing here,” Robert commented. “I’m wondering that myself. Did you have any vision about it?” Andrew asked. He was worried that Raf could be very dangerous and he was afraid the vampire was back just for him. “No, I haven’t had any vision at all today. I’m totally visionless. Jeez I wonder why?” “It’s strange. You usually have at least two visions during the day.” “Maybe I’m getting old.” “Robert I’m serious. You shouldn’t joke about it.” “Pal, relax. I have everything under control.” “I really hope so. I know I’m boring sometimes but I act like this just because I really care about you.” “I know that, pal and I really care about you too. You’re my best friend… now let’s talk about something serious and tell me if these roses are okay to bring to a girl.”
