Author's Response: Things are taking a bad turn for sure. But they need to make mistakes to learn. Neither of them are especially adept at relationships...given that neither has had one before (and far as I'm concerned, they are both equally guilty. Brian didn't tell Justin about his celebration plans...Justin didn't tell Brian what's suddenly driving him so urgently). Chin up, nothing irrevocable has yet occurred. And may not occur. Going to a club doesn't equate to backroom visits.

I'm not sure I really understand Justin’s line of thinking here...why wouldn't he share his personal vision with Brian if he's that excited by it? I think it's a little insulting that he figures that Brian couldn’t possibly understand and that he was only pulling this stunt for business gain...he has to know there was more to it for Brian to even suggest it...I just don't see it as some passing whim on Brian’s part.
Author's Response: Don't take it so hard (on Brian's behalf). His thinking is that Brian's worried enough about keeping his job without Justin complicating matters. If Brian knew, and a client said something, he'd be in a position where he had to choose. Justin does not want to put him in that position. Otherwise, he'd gladly tell him all about it.

I'm glad you like the way I portray Brian in this one :-) I try to keep him Brian-like but I try to alter circumstances slightly so that they have fewer growing pains (in this one ... I have them meet later and in New York, which has changed Brian's perspective a little).

Author's Response: I dunno... I think it's my vanity ... when you worry, you usually neglect to mention any of the preceding awesome-ness because you're so worried. And I totally get that, but the vain part of me says ... but but but Brian introduced Justin to a father-figure as his boyfriend, wanted Justin not to feel jealous of Ruben, and mentioned the mystery man ... which though imperfect opens the door to the truth... it might come out in the near future.
If every bad thing was cushioned by 3+ good things, that bad thing would be less threatening ... I think. That's my working theory anyway.

What is wrong with Mikey, he's acting like a dweb. Pushing a guest. Not nice. And Lindsay, did she fall asleep? She's acting like a computer. At least Mel seems to be coming to her senses, or is she? This chapter is a bit confusing but a fun read.
Author's Response: Yeah...Lindsay here is exhausted by motherhood. And she 'scans' Brian like she's a robot ... I've seen stuff like that on TV and liked it....so I thought I'd give it a whirl. Mel is trying.
