Would you believe I almost have the next chapter reading to add? The hamster got his second wind reading your new comments. I had to oil the wheel twice this morning he's going at it so good. After this chapter we move into the future and much happier times for our characters.

I woke up this morning to find 4 new chapters. I’m very happy that you get better. So while taking my breakfast on the terrace (a little cold but warmly-dressed, it’s ok), I scanned these new pages and now, I’m going to comment.

This is a very interesting case and a bit complex for Justin and the FBI ... For now, the rescue of the child is the priority. With his gift, Justin has already been able to locate him. Impossible for me to stop and comment on each chapter as the story kept me in suspense ...

Yesterday was THE comeback for Gex. 21 h 15, Biarritz airport... Tomas was already there. Dad wondered how many stops between the airport and our home (30 km) ! My mother hoped her baby would at least make a visit by the big house for a kiss before shutting himself in their apartment... And my other mom and I waited to see if it was necessary to prepare for today the meatloaf, or the ‘Axoa’, Gex’ favorite dish, (at least, the carrot cake was still topical !). Finally,  a hurricane came, slammed a kiss to each, left a bag of dirty laundry... and left :D. Currently, we have seen no sign of life ...

I could not be more grateful for this review. For over two days we have been writing with very little comments coming in on each chapter. The hamster was starting to have a panic attack and that is not a pretty sight. I laughed as you described Gex's arrival. Sometimes I'll get items not available locally via the Internet such as guava wood for my smoker. I'll buy wood from Hawaii. I bet somebody is selling walnuts online somewhere if you ever want to try them; they're very tasty and a soft nut to chew.

The recipes are now translated and on the fridge in the kitchen ... I love cooking (beware, this weekend, I test the meatloaf !). I learned with one of my moms who cooks divinely, mainly

Basque and Spanish dishes (her country) but we are open to all adventures. My dads are the Masters of the Plancha. In fact, everbody cooks here. Gex is the specialist of Pintxos. This is my favorite carrot cake recipe; it's a huge cake too.

Ingredients

• 6 cups grated carrots
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 cup raisins
• 4 eggs
• 1 1/2 cups white sugar
• 1 cup vegetable oil
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained
• 3 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
• 1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

1. In a medium bowl, combine grated carrots and brown sugar. Set aside for 60 minutes, then stir in raisins.
2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 10 inch cake pans.
3. In a large bowl, beat eggs until light. Gradually beat in the white sugar, oil and vanilla. Stir in the pineapple. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon, stir into the wet mixture until absorbed. Finally stir in the carrot mixture and the walnuts. Pour evenly into the prepared pans.
4. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes in the preheated oven, until cake tests done with a toothpick. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan. When completely cooled, frost with cream cheese frosting.

Funny you mention that; I wondered about the weirdness factor when I came up with that plot. I wanted them to have a kid and the gene combination was so right I had to write it. Besides this is North America and if your kid wants a million bucks by God she has to earn it!

I'm cooking right now and will answer all comments after we eat tonight.

There was two days since I came back home. Again I have to spend a few days in hospital with my baby. She redid an episode fever that reached 40°C (104° F) but this time without mouth ulcers and lymphadenopathy as the last time.  However my baby was completely asthenic and me in total panic and crying despite the help of my mother who’s a nurse… Fortunately, the medical team has been super great. They  placed my Maïa under treatment which interrupted quickly the fever. In fact, she has a periodic fever syndrome. It’s mild but very annoying.

And meanwhile, my favorite author has continued his great story and now I am more and more behind... I love the moments when they are in family. It's adorable. Now I wait to see what Justin can do to help the FBI. Just so brilliant, JT
