got to read the new chapter during my coffee break. damn that boy in the painting's fine. Michael &%$#@!%$#@! is going to get fu*ked for this when Brian finds out. poor Debbie being played like that by her own son too. how will they deal with this now? please update quickly. I can't wait to learn how this turns out and it can't be good.

Author's Response:

Let the JT Roller Coaster begin! Heheheheh! I can't spoil the plot now can I?

Starting this chapter out a little different are we.  <giggle>  that's it go straight for the sex and while Justin's on the phone with his mom!!!  How did their lunch with Mom go, anyway?

Michael, Michael <shakes head> When will Brian learn to take away Michael's keys.   The guys concern borders on stalking.   Oh wait that's been done.  Glad to see Ben telling Michael not to spill the beans, not that it will work <sigh>

Now that Deb knows - everyone's gonna know.  I hope you have something devilishly in mind to punish the culprit for spreading this information.

Loving this chapter, plus the painting.  The hands look to  be radioactive, intentional?

>

Author's Response:

This is still Sunday and dinner with Mom is Monday night. The boy in the painting will soon make an appearance in Brian and Justin's life (next chapter) and become a major character. The hands were just a surealistic artistic expression. Nothing was intentional and when Justin painted it he didn't know they were positive yet. Love you so much for your chapter reviews Yum.

May I cordially strangle Michael's scrawny neck.

Author's Response:

Yes, if you can reach him before Brian and Justin do first :) Thank you for commenting RG.

What a piece of shit! Brian will kill him I know it. Loved the painting of the persian boy.

Author's Response:

Notice the story catagories says: BRIAN/JUSTIN/OTHER.  The boy in the painting will soon arrived (next chapter).

Glad to see Brian's condition wasn't that serious. $335 is a lot of grocies! Knowing how much Justin eats it may only last a week. I'm like Jo Ann and hope this isn't going to turn into another Brian with Cancer story. I couldn't handle that.

The gang is too curious for their own good and Michael is the worse of them all. I fear him doing something stupid soon. Teriffic writing JT with lots of fun and strong events going on. Please update real soon. This could be your best work yet.

Author's Response:

I'm giving this story my greatest effort yet.

Reviewer: justinsgirl (Signed) · Date: December 06, 2010 04:25 PM · On: The Journey Begins

Sweet loving for our boys. Finally Brian accepts his condition and no doubt Justin is the reason he did it. Now I have to find out why Brian is hurting.

Author's Response:

It hurts worse than it is.

I always wondered how a + and - couple could be together safely. You have a terrific grasp of knowledge on this subject. It is good they are going to be together perhaps.

Author's Response:

This is a subject I know about; I have to.

What a wealth of information on Hiv and Aids. The blog post was incredible and I can see how Hiv isn't so bad compared to hopeless diseases. It's funny how everyone assumes people with Hiv will die from Aids. There is so much bad information out there and people don't know what's real or what isn't.

Have to read and see what happens to Brian.

Author's Response:

That's why I felt this story needed to be told to counter the myths, and false information on HIV/AIDS publically believed. That's more deadly than the virus.

You should put a Kleneek warning on this chapter since it rendered me to tears. Very sad and powerful writing JT. Justin's emotions are so raw and real you can't help but to feel it.

Author's Response:

I felt it too.

My good friend Jo Ann emailed me about this story and I'll be catching up with it tonight since I have the time and will comment for each chapter. She says it is your best story yet.

Author's Response:

Chills ran up my spine when the idea came to me to write this. No other plot idea ever did that before.

Reviewer: JAnn (Signed) · Date: December 06, 2010 02:20 PM · On: First Challenges

Michael is too much and thinks he owns Brian or something. Ben is very wise and might already suspect something. I wonder if anyone who learns they have hiv or aids thinks about ending it at first.

I hope this doesn't turn into another Brian with Cancer story. Those are too sad for me to read. Gale is my secret lover. This is a great story JT and very entertaining. I hope you post the next chapter very soon.

Author's Response:

Everyone with a major medical situation has to face their mortality at some degree of thought. This won't be a Cancer story.

Reviewer: JAnn (Signed) · Date: December 06, 2010 01:59 PM · On: The Journey Begins

OMG! What happened to Brian? It's good to know they can safely still make out. I'm learning so much about people with hiv in this story and don't feel being preached at.

Author's Response:

That was my intention. Just the facts my dear with all the intensity it deserves.

i had rob read this story.  i think i've interested him enough to read your writings.  he is very amazed with your knowledge on hiv-aids.  he has heard this from his family since he came out to them.  his aunt is a dr. in ca and has informed him about all aspects of this disease. i'm glad to see ted stand up and be counted.  he is usually pretty wimpy.  smart but wimpy!! lol man.

Author's Response:

Just woke up after a long sleep well needed. Glad Rob liked it. I have to cook and then I'l try to answer all my comments received. Let me know how Boston goes for you. You're spot on about Ted too :)

Well, the challenges have begun.  Love the dialog, the voices are perfect.  Interesting tidbit a bout the thrush.  Ummm, could I borrow Brian's credit card?  <grin>  I wonder just how long Michael will stay away...they best get moving to West Virginia me thinks.

I knew you'd get a blue Ribbon.  Congrats!!!

Author's Response:

This very well could be my best novel YumYum. It's so easy to stay with canon like content; I wonder why I never did it before. Michael screws up next chapter now underway. Good luck getting that VISA card from Justin :)

There's something about this story that's very heartning.  Wasn't sure at first but I'm lovng it.

I'm too much of a softie to keep our boys hurting very long. Besides OPS (other people's shit) they will have a good life for the most part.

It so great to see Justin taking care of Brian. I am very excited to read more from this story you are doing such a great job wit it!

Author's Response:

Thanks love for commenting. The caring will go both ways as lovers do. I feel this is the most important writing I've ever attempted.

Love the humor in this chapter. Michael is going to be trouble...are we surprised?   Brian seems to be coming around, and I agree with their decision not to tell anyone. If they are exclusive, then it's no ones business.

I see a maturity in your writing in this story.  It's not just your subject matter, which is compelling, its also the actual mechanics of your writing.   It's more 'polished'.   Your diaolog is witty, your description of medical conditions, and emotional conditions is clear and precise.  I'm really enjoying this story!  Though I love your other stories, this one is special.  The others were fun, and fantastical, this one is more realistic and emotional.   For me, your finest work so far to date.

Thank you again for sharing it.  Oh, and thanks for the vid! I LOVED it.

Author's Response:

To recieve such a review from a master gifted author like yourself is just amazing to me. I too feel much better about how this one is going. I have so many things for them to experience I'm having trouble deciding the order the crap happens :) If anyone else wants to see the video you mentioned I got Tech Support to add it to the bottom of the home page for a while.

Elsa calls this a major hit and I concur. A powerful story on a subject too long untold. Myth busting, Eye opening, Truth building - Breathtakingly real.

It would be good if Michael didn't think that everything in Brian's life was his business. If and when he finds out about Brian, he will probably blame Justin.

I loved Brian's reaction when Justin said that he was positive. It shows how much he loves him.
Love and kisses.

Author's Response:

They are without a doubt the most powerful chemistry of any couple in love ever to be on TV. Here we are 10 YEARS this week since the show first aired and just see how much they changed our lives for the better.

My stories are usually a roller coaster; this one is too but maybe over 300 MPH at times :)

When I first saw this story up I wasn't sure that I would read it. I love you and all of your stories, but I don't read stories where one of them dies. I know they are not real but I get very emotional about them and I can't stand walking around with knots in my stomach or crying like I lost my best friend. I am really not crazy, I'm just kind of sensitive about them. After reading some of the comments and your responses I decided to read the story.
The writing is great as always, and very informative.
Try to stay healthy.
Love and kisses to you and the hamster.

Author's Response:

Hi Lorie. A minor character will pass away but Brian and Justin will live on very well in time. Living with HIV is 2% dealing with the medical condition, and 98% dealing with the social stigma, the ignorance, the fear, the discrimination, and watching the virus spread because people aren't inform and don't get tested. We live in a social culture that sadly promotes the growth of HIV by our attitudes which drives it underground and that makes people afraid to face it head on. The secret to stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS is not to fear it, but to learn the facts, share the Word, and to respect this disease. Thank you for reading and the hamster sends his love.

sad story but amazing story as well

i am glad brian and justin are back together again

i hope they get married now

i can not wait to read the next xhapter of this story

Author's Response:

Is life sad? For fear of being a broken record I say again: this is not a sad story but a very real one. I'l take HIV over dozens of other diseases with no hope of living any day.

Just because it's a sexually transmitted disease or one of IV drug abuse mostly makes it's so feared and hated, and that is far more deadly than the virus.

I hope you enjoy and stay with the story and I promise a very happy ending.

omg Brian is sick!  He's going to have a very hard time of this, but I'm so glad Justin is there.  Brian could use all the support he can get.  I do hope they eventually tell the family.

Again, another very informative chapter.  Thank you for posting it, you're doing an excellent job with it.

Author's Response:

You didn't review chapter 3. I would cyber-spank you but I know you don't feel well from your LJ page where I go and steal your best icons and videos. I'm not snooping I promise! I wish I could suggest a bed; franky I could sleep on nails after taking my happy pill :)

Brian will make it but there are some health hurtles to pass, and he's deadly afraid of the gang and all of Pittsburgh learning the legend has fallen to the gay waste pile. Love you so much for commenting sweet one. *Hugs*

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: December 04, 2010 08:58 PM · On: The Journey Begins

Oh boy, the boys have a safe place to go away from the others.  Poor Brian, he's seen how Vic had to take all those pills, at least he's in a frame of mind to want to do it.  I wonder if they ever decide to trust a few people- Cynthia, Ben, and maybe Emmett?  Or would Emmett be too much a gossip.  Every chapter is a revelation !!!

Author's Response:

Dealing with HIV is a lifelong journey and the learning never stops if you want to live. I promised that this would not be a sad story but there are going to be pot holes on the way, and a coulpe of sink holes will happen too. Vic's situation was much worse since he was infected long before the best medications came around. Now many infected people only need one HIV pill a day after becoming undetectable. Trust is one of Brian's worse situations, but Emmett is one to keep a secret if he needs to in canon. Love you for your comments and the hamster is blowing you kisses.

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: December 04, 2010 08:41 PM · On: The Group

I like the information imported during the meeting Justin went to and I'm certain I saw a little jab at Michael in there. <chuckle>  My first though was the scene where Justin is confronted by Hobbs at the hospice and Hobbs makes that stupid comment.  It would be interesting should Brian attend a meeting to meet Hobbs there, only that wouldn't work cause Hobbs would be big into denial.

Michael to the rescue for a second time.  Love it that Emmett had the sense to call Justin.  One of my big worries is settled now that Brian's told Justin, that was a big step.  They could be lifelines for each other.

Loving this.

>

Author's Response:

You are so sweet to comment on each chapter. I hope to inform and entertain everyone. There's a message that needs to be told about HIV, the people living with it and the people who should avoid getting it, but the activist route bores everyone to tears. Learning by example of others is a great way to find out what everyone should know. Justin always could make Brian open up and talk to him. No one has Bridar better than Justin does.

Reviewer: JAnn (Signed) · Date: December 04, 2010 01:42 PM · On: The Group

I love how you write so fast and didn't delay Justin's return to Pittsburgh too. He can get Brian to wake up and deal with things I'm sure. I was afraid this might be many chapters of delay and angst but gladly you see a better direction for our boys.

Author's Response:

This is one story I know where we're going all he way before I write it. The angst comes dealing with others later mostly. It may soon be an us against them situation. People can be so fucking cruel at times and not have a clue they're doing it.

Reviewer: JAnn (Signed) · Date: December 04, 2010 09:39 AM · On: Grief and Denial

What a wealth of new information you provided on HIV. Most of us think it's far worse than it really is. Brian is so stupid and now he could die from his actions. I hope you post the next chapter very soon so we find out what happened to him. I can't see you killing off a major character so soon in the story so I'm not too worried.

Author's Response:

I hope to do the subject justice without overloading the readers with too much info too fast. Let it trickle in when it needs to be said by example. Chapters are posted nearly daily. Thank you very much for your chapter comments Jo Ann.

I salute you for taking on such a difficult plot. I cried during most of this chapter. I am going to be reading this powerful story all the way. I'm certain you will end it well.

Author's Response:

I hate sad endings too. There has to be some shit going on or we don't have a plot to enjoy. This is not going to be a sad story at all; HIV is only sad if you let it be.

JT my beautiful love I'm so gald you are the one to take this on, only you can pull this off. you are neutral when it come to Brian and Justin and that's what I love about your story. and this is a must tell story. more.

Author's Response:

Now that I got some much needed sleep I plan to create chapter 3 tonight. Thank you for commenting and reading.

Reviewer: Gina Marie (Signed) · Date: December 03, 2010 11:17 PM · On: Grief and Denial

Very informative chapter. I learned a lot.  Justin seems to be handling it very well...though to be fair, it appears to me at least, getting a diagnois of HIV and AIDS are two different things.  Justin has HIV, Brian has AIDS.   Though knowing Brian, wheter it was HIV or AIDs, he'd pretty much respond the same way.

I hope someone steps in and helps him before its too late!

Author's Response:

To be true to canon, Justin is the type to inform himself with knowledge and the facts while Brian always seems to be self-destructive since he attempted to end his life in the show at least once I remember. The difference in HIV and AIDS is mainly one with AIDS has a very high viral load, a low T cell count and is at high risk of new infections and cancers attacking the body. Trust me, Brian will soon wish he had started treatments once the pain of AIDS kicks in.

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: December 03, 2010 09:22 PM · On: Grief and Denial

I wasn't expecting another chapter this fast, but I'm glad I checked.  I like how you give out information within this chapter.  The one thing I've always disliked is how people could ostracize small children who were born with HIV or Aid's.  Then there are the adults who know perfectly well they carry the disease and pass it on purposely.

It's also interesting to read how our two guy's take different views on the news.   The journey for both should be interesting.

Author's Response:

The way people respond to the news is just like Brian and Justin responded or somewhere in between and a mixture of both responses. Our boys are at the extremes. I won't keep them apart too long since they are going to need each other now, more than ever before. Thanks for commenting very much.

Reviewer: brian (Anonymous) · Date: December 03, 2010 08:40 PM · On: Grief and Denial

so much infrmation to digest.  you really know about this.  i'm impressed.  rob and i got tested--a ok.  i really feel badly about new borns with hiv.  this story is going to be rad.  i hope brian comes to terms with his condition.  he is so stubborn.  needs to stop drinking and smoking as soon as reality hits him full force.  u go man . lol

Author's Response:

Brian will soon feel the reward of his stubbornness to treatment; trust me. I hope you and Rob still play safe for three more months, get tested again, each stay faithfut to each other, and once you both are negative in 3 months you can safely drop the condoms. You live in the hottest HIV gay community in the nation even passing SF. A new chapter is very soon.

Reviewer: BluvsJ (Anonymous) · Date: December 03, 2010 06:26 PM · On: June 1, 2005

I love the way you write.... BUT.... I am too much of a coward to read a Brian and or Justin with AIDS fic..... If you ever write a story where they meet... the "Real" Santa at Babylon ...lol.... I will be first in line to read..... I'll  pass on this.....  Thanks...

Author's Response:

Justin only has HIV, and Brian will convert from AIDS back to just HIV once he has treatment with the meds. This is no different than someone living with Diabetes, or any chronic medical conditon. They will not die prematurely in the story, but they will face difficulties and raw emotions living with HIV and dealing with others and what that causes. I won't sensationalize the plot; it will be very much like real people living with this condition everyday, and it only looks the darkness at the start. There is loads of things I need to say about HIV, living with it, and about people who don't have it and how they react to people who do. If you don't read you may miss out on the best novel of my fan fiction career. Thank you for commenting.

Wow this is going to be one very emotional story!! Cannot wait to read more from it!! And I really hope that they will soon understand the truth about each other's condition. Brian and Justin will really need all the support they could get.

Author's Response:

Support and human contact is vital to an person with HIV when trying to live with it and you are so true they need each other at a time like this. The story will rapidly built up to them getting together soon. You can already see who will be the strong soul in their union as they deal with this. Thank you for commenting.

It would be very interesting to read how they cope with that. Hope they'll find out about each other soon. Great chapter! Want to know more about this story!

Author's Response:

From the coldest darkest corner we will journey into the light of truth, reality, and a safe-very happy harbor in time for our boys. The seas will be stormy at first because that's how it really is.

Working on the next chapter before sleeping a day or two :)

OMG!!!! Half of me is screaming not to read this. The other half is saying STFU!!!! It took me 20 mins to read, I was not sure what would happen, now I need to know. This is a sure fire sign of your great writing skills. Can't wait for more.

Author's Response:

If you go back and read my answers to comments you'll find it's only the darknest in the beginning. We have a (mainly chronic health condition) ant hill that most people turn into a mountian of fear and ignorance. That drives HIV underground and spreads the disease. I promise a story with hope and final happiness opposite of the dark as it begins and I'll use real life facts to develop that plot.

Reviewer: Gina Marie (Signed) · Date: December 03, 2010 11:10 AM · On: June 1, 2005

I think this is your best writing ever.  Both the mechanics and the substance are outstanding.  The topic, is what I like to call, gut grabbing.   They say a writers best work comes when they write what they know. You are obviously very versed on this topic, and from what I can see, understand the emotional processes people with this disease go through.

I'm thinking Brian gave it to Justin, since he (in the show at least) was the more promiscuious one.   Though he always used a condoms, sometimes, accidents happen,...accidents that might go unnoticed if you're fucked up on drugs and alcohol.

At this point, I don't know who I feel worse for, Justin or Brian. The fear, sorrow, and mostly, guilt, will be consuming them both.

I look forward to see where you take us.  Great job.

Author's Response: Hi Gina. Justin left at the start of winter for New York if you remember the new falling snow outside the loft window the last time they made love. The medical report stated that Justin had an undetectable viral load and a very high normal T cell count. This is expected with a recent infection as stated; under 90 days. That was many months later since Brian and Justin last made love so no way did Brian give it to Justin. The irony is they both found out they were positive within 24 hours of each other. I was planning to explain more later not to overload the reader with too many facts at once.

Each person's journey with HIV is different. I can say without a doubt it only looks very bad in the beginning due to myths, fears, and ignorance of the viruses' true nature. Cowlip told more myths than truths. We will explore the journey of our boys each taking a different path with HIV: one is bravely coping at first, and the other is self-destructive. Some refuse to take the meds that can save their lives because they don't want to live. I don't want to give away too much in a review answer but I promise a knowledgeable novel without artistic license or making the situation worse than it is, and to hopefully expose the raw emotions HIV causes not only to the infected, but also to those not infected and people who love those who are dealing with it. Thank you for your comment, and I will do my best to give this subject the talent and skill it deserves. The chance to help people, and save others from harm deserves no less, and who better to share the Word on HIV than the finest gay lovers ever to exist?

There's a saying in the HIV community: "Spread the word and not the disease." That's the only answer to stop the growth of HIV.

I promise tears, and unexpected jolts of sheer joy beyond anything I've ever done. Every chapter will be written in blood from my still beating lucky heart and all who read it will know the truth about HIV and AIDS without the myths, fears, or social hatred to guide them. The length will be what it needs to cover the subject, the emotions, and the vision for our tomorrows.

I've heard Boston is beautiful and rich in history; I envy you my friend. You have a wonderful life getting to travel and explore this fabulous world!

i love it

Author's Response:

Thank you! I feel this one may really become a worthy homerun.

It's the first time I know where the story's going without making it up on the way.

PS -You know I never noticed how a story was rated before.  I would have rated it higher, but then what would you have to work for???    The Banner is top notch, the title to die for, no pun entended.  And of course the storyline fan-fucking-fabulous.

Author's Response:

Humm....five stars motivates the writer to create more. I have never given an author less that a 10 rating and if I can't give a 10; I don't rate at all so I don't hurt their score.

If we don't motivate and help one another who will do it? Hint; if you're impressed with a story, and give it a low rating (anything under 10) you may need to up your psych medications.

That's totally mental love. We try to help and encourage each other on MW. Well....we use to.

Wow!!!  I knew another great story from you was inevitable, but I didn't realize how fantastic a storyline it would be.  This  is going to be a humdinger and I will anxiously await for future chapters.  Now I can only wonder...will our boys connect or not?  Doesn't matter, I'll be following this story till the very end.

Author's Response:

It says Brian/Justin so they will get together. The journey to get there may be a little rough, especially for Brian at first.

FYI it was your story that inspired me to create this one. And I've been gay for over 42 years and this is one subject I'm very well versed on. I was there in person when the first boys and men dropped like flys in California in the late 70s and early 80s. I remember President Regan would not mention HIV or AIDS in public, even after his good friend Rock Hudson died. It took a very brave boy name Ryan White to change the frightened mood of an America who thought only faggots got it, and it was God's reward for their lifestyle. Many still believe that today and straights rarely use condoms. Duh?

For the record; this will evolve into a happy story in the face of adversity; and frankly there are far worse things to get than HIV with no hope to live. My facts will be correct and the situations from real life experiences I've seen happen to people without making it up or making it worse. The truth has all the drama I need.

Fear and ignorance are the killers and very contageous. HIV is actually very hard to catch but many still boil their gay uncle's coffee mug behind his back. <snicker>

Wow... This is my first reaction with the end of chapter. Bob, you hold here a story that will take us to the guts. With your wonderful talent, it will be again a great story, sad but beautiful ... I hope the boys will be valiant fighters

Love you

Gex

PS : RL is terrible ... I'm running after time and I can’t catch it. I know by Sylvie you haven’t been well, I hope your health is back. I’m always here reading and now, I’m going to comment on all the chapters of your other stories, just a quick note before joining my man in bed

Author's Response:

Heah good buddy! I had the gift of a kidney stone (very common at my advanced years). It stopped bothering me for now. If I knew how much getting old would be a drag I would have reconsidered. <snicker> In reality I'm in great shape all things considered. I have an income, nearly free excellent medical care, great friends and family, and a hamster that goes forward like the Energizer Bunny. Love you bro and don't let RL end your fun. Thanks for making me smile and remembering me with your comments and love. Tell your sister she's loved too from the USA. Tomas knows he is without me saying it; lucky dog :P
