I have no criticism of Brian Kinney for his choices.  Given Brian's history, they were "so Brian" and that worked for me.  I am reading this series. Loved the 2nd part to the story!!   This was definitely angsty with Brian having lung cancer at the same time as being pregnant with Vicky, but I loved how he and Justin got though it.   Sure Justin went way overboard and took on way too much, but I don't think there was any other way.   He did what he needed to do for his famlily.   I'm just glad that everything turned out well for Brian and Vicky and their little family ended up closer than ever!!

WOW!!!  Really great chapter.  So much emotion.  So many twists and turns in all the realtionships with everyone thinking they were doing what was right.  To be honest I still have trouble understanding the degree of Luke's anger with his fathers but everyone is entitled to their feelings.

As for Luke's anger - we don't have to understand it to accept that it's there. Everyone is entitled to their own feelings and Luke is feeling angry, as many teenagers are with their parents for way smaller reasons. 

At least we seem to be moving in the right direction now.

What a great discussion Emmett had with Luke.  It is obvious he was able to get through to him.  I had a feeling it would be him, because he had always been so close to Justin and was so supportive of him when the reality of what Brian had done crashed down on him.  Let's hope after thinking over all that Emmett has told him that he decides to hear Justin out. 

You are doing a great job with this story showing how painful this all is for Luke and how it will take time for him to reconcile with it.

Also I have worked with children and teenagers for years and know that their reactions aren't always the most rational but should be respected anyway. Just because we might not be able to understand certain kinds of pain, doesn't mean it's not real to them... I will never condemn anyone for feeling the way they do, just because I think they might not have a right to feel that way or because I think it's not justified. That's not how feelings and emotions work - especially, when you're still growing up and learning :( We will always achieve more with understanding than with lecturing...

I wouldn't call it wrong... He's a teenager and has just received very disturbing news about his fathers and his own past. Teenagers are impulsive and quick to judge... 

He will need time to work through what he has just found out and wil need time to come to terms with the truth.
