Ok, Gus has a crush on Rob, who has a crush on Justin. What a mess. Justin does a favor for Gus and it backfires. Poor Rob has wasted his hard earned money and Brian isn't happy about it. I think that meeting of the family thing might just complicate things. Hope I'm wrong.

Thank God, no subterfuge or twisted complications, just plain honesty - I really like the talk between Justin and Rob, that he got not some Brian-lines "... in your dreams..."
You wrote, that you understand, that not everyone likes Elvis in the assumption, that this was the reason I skiped this story. But I like his songs. It was just the (in my opinion) rather strange title and Justin looks like e clown in the banner. But please, no offense meant!
Oh, and btw, it seems I can't review fast enough for your replys to it, thank you for this, too. I just hope my english is good enough, I'm often unsure about which word to elect and so on...

It's surprising how fast Brian goes from angry to amused if he doesn't feel threatened any more. But I'm a little bothered by, how Brian again and again distrusts Justin; I'd not be happy about it.

This was my favorite chapter. I loved the Elvis word/song play.The Banter between Brian and Justin was as entertaining as usual.
I thought the advice Brian gave to Justin about Gus not falling apart if things don't work out was very on target and showed just how intelligent and how much Brian has matured from being the Stud of Liberty Avenue.
Gus and Rob were so cute together!. I pray it works out.

I absolutely love the buildup here between Gus and Rob. Justin being Justin, and Brian being Brian - we never actually had the chance to watch them 'fall in love'. Being able to watch Rob as he becomes aware of Gus in a whole new way, and Gus as he worries over all the 'normal' new relationship stuff is just such a treat. Really like this chapter alot!

On break, thought I'd check again and lo and behold here it is. This was a sweet chapter. Gus is too cute for words. You always worry about the length of your chapters. We all love the length of them. Rick(SILENT SAM) said in his own styling way--they could be longer. He gets caught up in my reading and is visibly upset when the chapter ends. I think he would be happy if I read for hours. BB and Lee say hey! Lee says to tell you BB won the contest. LUCKY DEVIL it is. Of course BB said it was no contest that was the name so live with it. He's so funny. Lee said since I started this broughhaha I had to buy the winners gift. So guess what I got him? A gas card and 5 free car washes. He gave the gas card to Lee, said he needed it more than him--as LUCKY DEVIL is a gas guzzler. He is such a softy and a great friend. Back to the business of healing. lol

I think that is a very appropriate name for him/her (?), because from what I've read Lee WAS one lucky devil, although I like to think it was more in the way of some divine intervention instead.:) However it happened, sounds like you are all blessed by it.:) It must be great to have all of you back together.:) That was very thoughtful of Brian to give his gas card to Lee. I feel like I should have been the one to donate it though, since it was my idea that created the contest in the first place - LOL! What a lovely, lovely chapter this was! I am so glad Justin and Brian figured out a way to handle it with sensitivity and grace. I loved the fact that they cooperated in order to make it as painless as possible for all involved. On a side note, I would pay some SERIOUS money to watch Brian/Gale play the guitar while wearing spray-painted on pair of pants... Sigh...alas, it'll be only in my dreams...
Anyway... I loved the interaction between Brian and Justin. I thought the conversation between Justin and Rob was very well done, very realistic. I LOVED the fact that Rob took Justin's advice and gave Gus a chance. I hope there'll be a bit more about their relationship in the next chapter/epilogue.

Wouldn't it be awesome if Gale would pick up a guitar at the 'Club Babylon" event for the convention so he and Randy could perform together? I know it's just a pipe dream, but wouldn't that just be utterly fantastic?? I would DIE! I would also more than accept it if he and Randy would get out on the dance floor and give us an encore. Again, probably not going to happen, but you never know...!

I'm a little nervous about it, though, because I've never written one for a teenage Gus before, but it might be interesting. We already know that Gus is a top (like Daddy - LOL!) and Rob is still a virgin (like Justin was!). I'm maybe seeing the epilogue taking place a few weeks later after they've been on some dates together, along with mention as to how the contest went. I was soo nervous to see how Brian was going to handle this situation, but you didn’t fail me. Big Sigh. I love this family relationship you have going on between B/J/G because it’s very loving and strong. You can tell that Brian and Justin have come a long way just by the way they handle the scenario back at their place. Very mature I thought. There were no slamming of doors or people walking out instead of staying and listening. Couldn’t help but chuckle at the “…you are NOT taking that wedding ring off again - ever.“ LOVE IT!!!! I think the first thing he's going to do is straighten out a certain lovesick puppy dog by informing him in no uncertain terms that he is barking up the wrong tree when it comes to even considering 'wooing' his husband away - LOL! I really was trying to show what sort of angst a typical teenager might experience without making it come across as too dark or dreary. I promise to try and make everyone happy before I finish. I think by the time everything's said and done Rob may have a greater appreciation for his same-age friend rather than someone who is definitely off-limits to him (we know Brian will take care of that - ha!). The average length of a novel that is published is about 80,000 words, and the average chapters are between 2,000-4,000 words each. That is a good guide for sizing a novel size story.
Imagine a story with 500,000 words would need 6 books to publish it! We have several of them here already.
Remember that the more you write the more your readers have to enjoy.
Author's Response: Hi, Bob! Are you saying these humongous chapters of mine are a GOOD thing, then? That's what I hope, anyway, because you probably know I don't know how to normally write any other way - LOL! I would probably never have the gumption to try and publish something anyway, although it would be interesting. I would have no clue how to go about it for the first part, and I know it can be quite expensive to do it book by book on a private basis without the backing of a publisher.
As far as my stories here, I have considered making the chapters shorter so I can post updates to all my WIPs quicker, but I feel in the long run that most readers would prefer to wait a little longer to get 'meatier' chapters than smaller ones that only progress so far. With mine, I tend to place so much detail in each chapter that it would be hard for me to move the plot ahead very much with only 2,000 to 4,000 words (and to think in school when you were punished they normally had you write a '1,000-word essay' and that felt like a lot! LOL!). Anyway, thanks for stopping in.
BTW - I see you are reading my friend's new story ("Love Lies Bleeding"). She finally has her computer issues resolved so she should be able to keep posting regularly, I am happy to say. I love historical-type fiction and I know she will get into that a little more in the future. And knowing her I'm sure she will finish her story. It's very absorbing, isn't it?

I don't know how you do it, Kim, but your stories just suck me in. What an awesome chapter. I am not, I repeat, NOT and Elvis fan. Yet, you made me sing the f-ing lyrics out loud and I actually enjoyed the heck out of myself, as well as this chapter.
Question, though, why isn't Justin wearing his wedding ring? If he were, I'm thinking Rob would know that Justin was taken. Unless of course, he took it off because of the Elvis costume. Or, it could be that I am being a silly NITPICKER, which I will stop forthwith.

I'm sure knowing how Justin likes these sort of romantic tokens (not that it's just a 'token') he would normally proudly wear his ring as a "look who I captured" sort of symbol - ha! I will try and devise a suitable explanation for that oversight in the next chapter. Suffice it to say that normally he would be wearing it, but for plot purposes I had to leave it out or the jig would be up much too soon - LOL! Thanks to you and 'sophie's mom' for pointing that out (Yeah....thanks a LOT! Just kidding...LOL!).
As far as the Elvis songs, I take it a a great compliment that you now have those songs reverberating in your head even though you don't like them - I had to laugh at that comment!:) You may have noticed I'm using his song titles as the titles to the chapters, too - clever, huh? (Patting myself on the back....). I'm glad Elvis had a lot of songs to choose from, because picking them out will be a lot easier that way, although I don't think "Kentucky Rain" will wind up being used here (no offense to the Blue Grass State - I was actually born there....).

i think this story is so good. I just finished reading a couple of your stories. You are an outstanding writer. I am really enjoying the parent trap. Reading your stories really puts me in a good place.

I'm glad you're enjoying "The Parent Trap." I actually have a lot of the next chapter written, so I might try to post the next chapter soon out of order for this one time. I am very anxious to get the girls switched with their other fathers and to get their reactions. Also, I almost have the next chapter of "Shower Scenes" written and hope to have that posted no later than tomorrow.

we love this first chapter. so funny wish there were pictures to go with it. a litlle levity is good while there is so much hatred , angst, war, and bad stuff going on all around us. my god did you see the home page--randy's there at joe's pub i think. i've seen it before but so surprised to see it there. lol

Yes, I saw Randy on the home page - I've seen him sing that on "You Tube" before. Such a beautiful voice!
