Is it Nature or Nurture? Brian's son is a remarkable combination of both Brian and Justin even if he was raised by his mothers. I love, love, love Gus stories and to read about Gus all grown up and Justin giving Brian a book to commemorate that is just too, too special.

This one is so personal to me. I have a god son who is graduating from school in a couple of weeks. We are having a family party for him and we made a collage of pictures depicting his birth til now. I feel this is a small world somehow. This is a specially sweet story. I'm so glad to have read it. The world moves in mysterious ways-don't you agree.
Author's Response: Yes, Nonie, I definitely do! There is another story on here - "Trust" - that I wrote (won't give away the plot so I don't spoil it for you) that resonated with a lot of readers. It meant a lot to me that others were affected so much by the topic I wrote about. Sometimes I really think a higher power steers us in certain ways at certain times, much like you reading this story just before your god son is about to graduate. Yes, it's quite expensive to fly to Germany, isn't it? But as I mentioned before, it will probably be a once-in-a-lifetime trip for me, so I'm taking the plunge.:P)

Yesterday (January 4) was my stepmoms birthday. Yes she made it, she's 58 years. But she was so tired, she couldn't take a nap, because of visitors. 6 pm she took a nap, but didn't wake up anymore * sigh *

I think this is the start to another of your great stories!! I think the fandom can only be enriched by more Gus stories, as you might have guessed. I particularly liked the images of playing with trains and wearing bibs which you invoke in this chapter. I look forward to reading more about your teenage Gus in future chapters.

They are having a meet and greet in Germany? Oh my heavens I wish I could go. That would be so great I would die seeing all of them together. Who in the cast will be there? That would be so much fun. The promoter of the event, called "Rise 'n Shine," pulled off the seemingly impossible, because ALL of the main cast have signed up to go! I suspect it will be the only time that will happen (hope not, but what would be the odds again?) It's being held June 8 - June 10 in Cologne, Germany. There is a website set up with all the information, including prices, if you want to check it out - it's http://risenshine2012.de//pages/en/home.php.
Also, if you go to the "announcements" category on this site, there is quite a bit of information listed there as well.
As far as the airfare goes, I about fell off my chair when I saw it, but I'm biting the bullet and doing it anyway as a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Right now round-trip airfare from my area of the country (midwest) is around $1700 round trip - yikes! The cost of getting autographs, photos, doing the meet and greet, etc., varies depending upon how much or what you choose, but the website can pretty much tell you what you need to know.

Hello, I work with Kym and was told this story would be up my alley so I read it and was impressed by the writing. I have listened to her talking about this writer she finds fascinating and I should read some stories by this writer. She didn't tell me what kind of stories they were. Imagine my surprise when I found who the subjects of this story were. I would still be watching that show if it was still on. It was ground breaking when it was premiered. I have been following the cast for years. I particularly like Randy and Gale and Scott. I have seen some plays they have been in and now Gale is in The Secret Circle. I think he is so handsome and really hasn't come into his own since the show went off the air. I thought maybe he was type-cast for awhile. Just wanted to introduce myself and tell you how much I enjoyed reading this story.

What a beautiful voice he has! And you're right - I think Gale is way underused on television. I hope one day he gets the exposure (pardon the pun - ha) that he deserves.:) I've never had the pleasure of meeting Gale, but have met both Scott and Randy, both of whom seemed very nice. I'm hoping to rectify that, though, in June because I'll be at the QAF convention in Germany - can't wait! (Can you tell I'm excited? LOL!).

I just wish they had shown more of the father-son relationship in the show, and more with Gus and Justin. I still remember that one scene where Justin is sitting next to Gus while the little boy is sketching at the diner, and Gus kind of hits him accidentally with his paper.
