I tend to read very little fic, I'm really picky and I'll only start to read what I think sounds interesting, I don't like hurting people's feelings because I'm really nitpicky so I rarely comment. For this I'll make an exception.

This is very well written but what I really want to commend you on is not using a giant list of stereotypes and ticking them off one by one.

I'm a firm believer of writing what you know, and if you don't you then you do your research. Unfortunately so many, when doing a foreign fic, seem to just find a tourist website and that is it for research. If you don't know it, be vague. You mentioned things but you did not over egg the pudding. You got the American tourist in Scotland thing down well.

And the horizontal gay gordon wisnae bad either. (there have some Scots lol)
