Your story just keeps getting better and better. I love the interaction of John and Peter with Gus and JR,they try and help Justin and Brian out with the kids and the little ones seem to enjoy their company. I hope that Cynthia doesn't side with Patti she could easy be fired for insubornation she be know that Justin has the right to ruin the gallery as he sees fit, she was way out of line in her remark that she would check with Brian. Cynthia and Ted know this and Patti was wrong to question Justin. I hope that Lindsey just runs away like she usually does when she does something wrong I think she knows Brian will not side with her after what he knows about stealing from Gus and lying to Melanie who is trying her best to get them in fiancial shape. Gus loves daddy and papa to much to hate them he's a smart little boy and he knows who really loves him. Who cares what the ass-wipe Mikey thinks. More chapters when you can, I truly love this story and you always surprise and delight me.
Author's Response: First I have to say I laughed out loud at the typo - "Justin has the right to ruin the gallery as he see fit" - at least I hope that is a typo. So perfect!!!!!!!!! I always look forward to reading your comments but they don't always make me laugh this much. I believe Lindsay thinks Patti does a good job so she would probably try and intervene with B&J unless she does something really out of line. I do think Lindsay may do a little running but not too far. She may still be a little deluded in how Brian feels about her. After all Justin has fired her for no good reason except his jealousy of her close friendship with Brian. Gus does love his Daffy & Papa but loves hi Mommy too so it will be a tough time for Gus.

I was getting a little worried when you hadn't posted but I figured you would get to it soon. Glad your laptop is fixed and hope everything else is okay.
Author's Response: I feel pretty guilty about the long delay in posting a new chapter and promis to try and do better. Laptop had some kind of confilct with IE and my anti-virus software. While they it was at the repair shop they did the upgrade to Windows 10, so it was a good thing. I really appreciate all your support!!!!!! Bill

Poor, poor Justin, he is having no luck with females today, first Dorothy is not being his friend and then Mel wants to tell him about lesbian sex. Hopefully Brian can make him forget all this later. :)
I feel bad for Mel, and I'm glad she is not trying to make excuses for what Lindsay is doing.
Love Brian's comment about Justin just standing there looking cute.
I think it's great how Brian and Justin always work together when there is a problem, they are just the perfect balance for each other.
Patti is lucky that she was not fired for that nasty comment about future employees, like it is her right to question either of her employers about who they hire.
Sounds like Brian had a great day with his kids. Such a wonderful dad.
If I was Justin I think I would have had to bitch-slap Lindsay for her comments when he was firing her. She will never learn. I can't wait to see her try to turn this around and make herself the victim.
Author's Response: Well he did strike back a little at the female population with Patti and Lindsay. Mel is really in a tough place and I don't see it getting better for a while. We do all know that Brian doesn't really mind if Justin just stands around looking cute. B&J are a well balanced team and always look out for each others best interests - at least in my story they do!! I think Cynthia believes Patti is good at her job so she would probably help her keep her job. Brian was lucky to have some help from his nephews who distracted Gus & JR from displaying too much sibling rivalry. I think Justin doesn't care enough about what Lindsay thinks or says to get too upset unless she is annoying Brian.

Must say I was intrigued by this chapter. Two hard headed woman going up against Justin. Lindsay is sure to find some way to turn this around and make Justin look like the bad guy. Patti is lucky she still has her job. If Brian ever finds out how she treated his Sunshine, she may be in for the same treatment as Lindsay. Loved this! Especially with Brian, alone with four kids! I imagine when Mikey hears Lindsay's version there will be some whining going on like you wouldn't believe.
Author's Response: Those two woman didn't stand a chnace aginst Justin. I think Lindsay is going to try and make Justin the victim but not sure anyone will really buy that version of the story. No one better try and tell that version around Brian. I think Cynthia will intervene to let Pati keep her job. Somber chapter. Well written, but hard to watch it happen.
It went OK at the gallery, but what next? I don't see Brian letting Gus go home to Linds, despite the agreement. And what will Mel do?

Another good chapter. I had hoped that Lindsey had some
good explanation, but I guess not. I wonder what is next.
What about Gus? Will Brian be able to send Gus back to a
household with lots of difficult issues? Will Lindsey try to turn
Gus against Justin? And what about Melanie? If nothing else,
besides gambling, Lindsey is a good wife, or at least a ‘hot’
one. It will be interesting to see how all this unfolds.

Author's Response: You have made me feel sorry for Lindsay but she really is her own worst enemy. I don't hink she is ready to admit her mistake and work on her issues just yet. Not 100% sure there will be a household to retunr Gus to, time will tell. I think Linds and Mel are going to gave to have a discussion about how they can move past the lies and the gambling. Poor Lindsay, I´m not convinced she´ll search the much needed help. I´m afraid she will go see Brian and beg for job, money and in fact co-addiction!
There are still people who don´t understand the dynamic couple - J&B as equals and protectors not only for each other but also the kids. Linds will learn her lesson the hard way, arggghhh!

Thrilled to see the update this morning. I was actually going to write and see if everything was alright with you. so used to seeing the weekly updates, that when a longer peiod of time had passed, I was getting a bit concerned. I hope everything in your RL issues are or have worked out OK for you.
Great update. I was anticipating the confromtation with Lindsey, adn how it would all work out. Boy...people sure don't give Justin the credit he deserves for his position do they. They all seem to think he's so insignificant in the whole scheme of things. Little do they know.
Hopefully Lindsey won't cause too much trouble now that she got the axe. That she doesn't try to influence gus too much. Not sure if that's realistic or not, but one can certainly hope. I'd hate to see Gus thinking anything negative about B&J. I'm sure any distress he feels can easily be resolved by the boys as well as Grandma Jen etc. Mind you...I can just see Lindsey running to Michael (and perhaps Deb) about this. He seems to be her only allie.
I feel bad for Mel too. She's been trying so hard to get their lives on track to be undermined and lied to...It's no wonder she's had enough.
I can certainly see things coming to a head soon.
The court hearing is in a couple of days now too! I just remembered. Will this have any effect? My fingers are crossed that John adn Peter will be able to stay permanently with the boys. Safe adn secure!

Author's Response: Thanks for the concern. I am kind of annoyed at myself for not getting this chapter finished and psoted sooner. People who just see the smiling, happy Justin don't know there is strength underneath the sunshiney exterior. There is more Lindsay drama coming in the next chapter. I think Lindsay should try and stay as far away from Grandmom Jen as she possibly can, might be better for her health. I'm sure Lindsay will try to stir some people up but not sure how much success she will have. I think Mel may be in for some tough times. I have a good feeling about the custody hearing but we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Finally Lindsay is getting her just due, what worries me though is her nonchalant attitude toward the whole situation. Maybe she thinks she actually has a chance of talking to Brian and getting him to disagree with the decision that was made....but as we all know her chances are next to nil.

i missed this in ways I am not even sure I can explain. I feel for Mel and I don't even really like her any more than I like Lindsay. I was unaware the HR person did not understand Brian and Justin were both her boss equally I see her trying to meet with Brian on Tuesday to try to fix her problems and him blowing her off. I almost want to see the steam come out of Jennifer's ears when she finds out what Lindsay did. I hope all of your issues are solved and your computer works well so we can see if Lindsay tries to run to mommy and daddy to try to fix everything. I also can't wait for the custody hearing I think that will be a very interesting read. I am so glad you did not abandon us and this story for any longer and I hope we get more soon. Tought situation when your partner lies to you and has a whole different financial plan than the one you agreed to follow. I think Lindsay will have to do her best to stay away from Jennifer. Justin is such a great dad. He has such a gift for knowing what to say to kids. Trying to keep Gus from being jealous by explaining how it was his home and his room and that JR is just a guest was really good. Loved Brian being horrified at having to do JR's bath, but realizing that it was either that or talking, he got off easy.
I cried when Gus was explaining that he was afraid that they didn't have enough money for food. Then was so pissed off when Lindsay stole his money. Gus may be jealous of having to share the weekend with his sister, but was so sweet in saying that she is little and needs food to grow.
I'm glad that with everything going on that Brian still wants to go ahead with Little Sunshine.
Breakfast was hilarious, loved John's pancake trick. What does Lindsay feed them, I thought all kids loved fruit. JR sure has an attitude.
Author's Response: Justin understands Gus maybe becaue he understands Gus's Daddy so completley. Hard thing to understand a mother being so desperate to steal from her child but addictions make people do unbelieveable things. Gus just didn't like JR sharing his Daddy/Papa time but she is still his little sister and he looks out for her. JR is he mother's daughter and wants her own way. Wonderful chapter. There was so much going on at the
BBQ, that it could describe at an action scene. As a
complement to your writing, I knew every character, and
something about each one.
I was sorry to hear about Lindsey and as I had said before
that I was rooting for her. Well – it looks like she is going the
way of Claire. No, I don't mean jail, but just someplace away,
somewhere???. It will be interesting to see what you have in
store for her, but more importantly, Gus.
I find it interesting that Tucker has been playing a larger
part in his interaction with the family. He is no longer just
Jennifer’s companion, or whatever. He now helps out, and
better yet, it is done smoothly, like he belongs. And he does.

I enjoyed the chapter. It seems Brian really liked having all the kids running around and even the adults that were there. Gus and JR were fussy but JR doesn't get much male attention, Mikey is too self-centered wanting to be on show that he doesn't see to his daughters needs. I'm so upset with THE BITCH that I can't stand it. First she brings all the finanical problems by gambleing she has her son worrying about them sleeping on the street, now he worrys about none of them having any food, what kind of mother does that to a little child, then to top it off she steals money from Gus. I wish Mel will give her rights to Gus to Brian and let Brian and Justin have custody with her having third party rights. Gus has to much worry for a little boy it's time for him to be a kid and let Mama, Daddy, and Papa take care of him and show him the love he deserves. More chapters please, and thank you for a wonderful story where all the characters are written in detail and even the characters not on the tv show are just as real as the ones we put a face on.
Author's Response: Brian's life has really changed. I think he is happy if Justin is happy and he does really enjoy spending time with his son. Gus just didn't like his pesky little sister trespassing on his time with his Daddy & Papa. Lindsay has not been behaving well, stealing from your child and from the gallery that gave you a great job opportunity. I think it sometimes happens in real life that parents argue and don't realize how it effects their kids. Gus is a sensitive little boy who is very aware of what is going on around him and wants his family and friends to be happy - hmmmmmmmm wonder who he gets those traits from??

Another fun-to-read chapter. I'm always surprised when the chapter ends...I'm so caught up in this world I think I could read for hours. Always glad to see Kevin together with Gus. Great job with the Gus/JR jealousy...so real and loved Justin's talk reassuring Gus of his place in the family. I almost feel sorry for JR what with having Michael and Melanie as parents. Guess she is a chip off the old block(s). Loved how Jennifer made Viola and Roxanne feel welcome...Jennifer is great with Kevin and, of course, Gus, too. Looks like she may get her wish about a child for Justin, if Brian has anything to say about it. So many wonderful moments between characters in this chapter. Is Melanie right? Is Lindsay gambling again or is something else going on with her? So sad Gus thinking there is no money for food at home. And his concern for JR--what a good kid! Well now we know where the petty cash I am so shocked I knew Lindsay was the thief and now Brian and Justin can keep Gus. Do you think there is room in the cell next to Claire???? Or Mel should throw Lindsay out so she can go try to move back in with her parents that which could be pretty comedic all things considered. I liked the whole bbq story especially with all the kids and I like how Brian and Justin parent so JR does not get her way she has to do things the way they work in the house she is in. I liked this chapter a lot for a couple of small things Jen thinking about Justin and Brian having their own child and JR trying to out stubborn Brian and Justin and failing and John with the strawberry jam brains your little details are the best parts of your chapters so happy you continue to write this amazing story more really really really really soon Please!!!!!!
Author's Response: Why do I think you are not all that shocked??? I'm not sure a small theft will get Lindsay in a cell next to Claire. I predict lots of Lindsay drama in the next chapter. JR is a pretty determined little girl but couldn't win against Uncles Bri & Jus. Glad you enjoyed the chapter and the little touches. Gus is a possessive little thing, isn't he? Not willing to share HIS daddy, papa, and cousins. Yet at the same time, still protective towards JR by making sure she has enough to eat.
As for Lindsay, she's not satisfied with stealing from the business but also from her own son?! Please don't let her get away with it by her usual crying and whimpering and false promises. I know she's Gus' mother so she'll always be in their lives, but enough is enough. Talk is cheap and that's all they ever do with her. Once talk (even threats) is over, she just goes her merry way (sometimes even with more cash in the bank so she can "fix" it!) It's time for real action and real consequences.
Author's Response: Gus wants his solo Daddy/Papa time for sure and is not happy about his annoying little sister trespassing on that turf. I'm sure there will be crying and whimpering and promises in the next chapter but not so sure they will be effective. I suspect there are real consequences coming soon! So the weekend party seemed to go quite well. everyone was able to difuse any sibling sqabbling effectively. Wow! JR is quite the mini Mel isn't she? LOL! Defiant little thing. Your description was humorous. Brought back memories of my own when she was a defiant little onw. (Now a defiant bigger one)
All the little details are great. Everything from horseshoes to finger painting to manicures.
As for Mel's chat wiht Justin...I knew it!! (ok...we all knew it! lol) But wow...Linds taking $ from Gus, obviously taking the $ from petty cash. Gambling away food $. It's all going to come to a head soon and boy! i can't wait to read that one! :) I'm guessing Justin will talk to Sidney and they'll discover the real issue with petty cash. Looks like Pat might be getting a promotion! :)

I forgot to mention how much I enjoyed Ted's letting Justin know about the petty cash problem. I don't remember Lindsay having a gambling problem before, but it makes sense. Will Sidney press charges since Lindsay basically stole money to support her habit? How will Melanie handle this? Will Brian and Justin end up getting full custody of Gus? Will Mikey and Ben have to devote more time to JR? I can see Ben doing it, but Mikey? As much as he loves her, he probably wouldn't want the responsiblity - and to think he talked about Brian being a drop-in dad.
Author's Response: You are two kind (grammer error intentional) Ted always looks out for B&J's best interests. Lindsay gambled all their money away that is why B&J had to finance the move back from Canada. You read a lot of stories, and that story line was probably back in the 40's, so I will forgive your lapse in memory. So many questions all this and more to be revealed in future chapters. Have to ask...Are you a fan of the "Good Witch" movies and show? Have to say your story reminds me a lot of that show (with light romance, rl situations and not serious or easily resolved problems) Just wondering.
Author's Response: I have not really ever heard fo the Good Witch movie or show. The only "good witch" show I am familiar with is Bewitched. I am a big fan of low angst stories. There will be some new clues to petty cash issue in the next chapter. I wanted Tillie to shw that Joan did have options but she was too proud to take them. We don't know what Joan's home life was like so it could be that she came from an abusive family and so Jack's behavior may have seemed "normal" to her. That might make an interseting story - Jack & Joan the romace. Happy to know you are still enjoying the story. It is fun to not read a story for a while and than have a few chapters to catch up on. I don't usually comment on the stories I read....way too many to comment on each and every single one of them!
But yours is truly the BEST Brian/Justin story I have ever read. And I've been reading fanfiction for a few years now so I've read a lot of them. I just read yours a second time from the top in just a few weeks.
I love that Brian and Justin have minor tiffs but are basically an extremely solid couple and I love the relationship between Gus/Justin.
I'm also a big fan of anti-Lindsay and anti-Michael so your story ticked all the boxes for me.
I'm really happy you seem to post chapters regularly and can't wait for the next one! I'm sensing some Lindsay gambling.

Author's Response: Thanks you so much for your extremely nice comments. I am both flattered that you took time to review my story and a little sad that you don't review regularly. Reviews are the only "pay" that authors recieve and I LOVE to get reviews and I know other authors feel the same way. It is the only way we know readers are enjoying the story.
I try and make the story as real world as possible and I think all couple have tiffs, if not something is wrong with them. I also think B&J really understand each other and do their best to deal with their's partners annoying traits. Lindsay was always my least favorite character in the series, as I have mentioned several times in reviews. I think of Mikey as clueless and completely unable to deal with change. I never thought he was in the same category as selfish Lindsay. That is why he just gets the occasional putdown. I think both Brian and Justin appreciate that he (& Debbie) were good friends to Brian when he really needed them.

I just recommended this fic to my friend that looking story which has Brian as (protective and supppotive) uncle, tbh it's really rare to find a story which has Brian as the uncle, we see alot him as hot stud, father even soccer player lol but rarely we see him as an uncle, glad that Taylors want to help Ted, and I love John and Peter, these characters are growing on me, I can safely say that they should stick with their loving uncles rather than suffering in unnecessary family drama with their mother and grandma. Lindsay has a probelm that she needs to deal with and when she does that I hope she will be able to get her life together. I do have to say I never liked Lindsay in the show. I always found her to be selfish and she played Mel and Brian against each other to get what she wanted. So, to be honest, Lindsay is never going to be a beloved figure in my story - sorry! Oh, "drag it out" is definitely a good thing. It hate when other writers let Mikey and Lindsay off the hook too easily. This makes for a much juicier story, especially when you like the "Mikey/Lindsay bashing" as much as I do!

It is a good thing that Mark is on the ball and reported Lindsay's request for yet another check. Really Lindsay--must you steal from the hand that is feeding you? Yes, Pat, you should definitely talk to Sidney about the petty cash. "Corporate interference" is called for! Glad that Jennifer is on the case and is working to thwart Joan's plans. Me again, I was really surprised that so many reviews thought Lindsey was gambleing again. If that was true I think Mel would run straight to Brian and alert him neither of them have the patience with this and nip it in the bud. what in the world is Lindsey doing, trying to get rid of Pat or start in-fighting between Sidney and Justin proving Justin isn't able to run the gallery? Justin needs a meeting with Ted, Sidney, and Pat to find the true story and he needs to do it at the gallery making sure Lindsey is not invitied that ought to put her on notice to stop this, then tell her how much will be deducted from her salery for stealing from petty cash and that Sidney will now keep the petty cash! I hadn't thought about Lindsay trying to frame Pat. Lord knows I wouldn't put it past her. Brian's changed so much and he couldn't be happier. Pat doesn't have a key to the drawer in Lindsay's cube where she keeps the petty cash. Brian has been changed by love which he didn't get enough of when he was younger. I don't think anyone told Mikey about JR spending the weekend with B&J. I don't think he will be pleased when his daughte tells him how much fun she had visiting her uncles. You probably tell all the suthors that they deserve a blue ribbon. I am going to have to pay more attention to your other story reviews.

Glad the court date is moved up and Tillie is willing to testify against Joan. Justin better warn Brian before the hearing.
Ted should have talked to either Brian or Justin or both of them about Lindsay. I know he can handle it himself but they are partners with gallery so the should be made aware.
Loved Jennifer at Kevin's school. She a wonderful grandmother.

I totally understand why Pat didn't go talk to Sydney about what she heard Lindsay said on the phone. She knows that Lindsay isn't trustworthy but I understand Pat doesn't want to put someone in trouble. However, Pat has to talk to Justin or Sydney. If Lindsay can lie about who paid the wire, she could have lied about who took the gallery's petty cash (Pat clearly has suspicions) and she could framed her too.
Pat should wait for Lindsay to be in the same room with Justin and Sydney to casually ask Lindsay for her refund and then ask Sydney to not forget to fill out the petty cash sheet.
I can't wait for Michael to come back. Not that I like him, but for his reaction when JR will tell him how much fun she had with Brian. We saw the competition between her and Gus for Brian's attention but I can't imagine the same for Michael's.
I really want for Melanie and Ben to actually do something about Lindsay and Michael's BS. Their apologetic smiles aren't enough anymore.

I think you are correct about Michael, he may have a stroke when JR mentions how much fun she had with B&J. I think that is the probelm with Gus he knows he nevers goes anywhere with Michael & Ben so he doesn't understand why JR is horning in on his time with his Daddy & Papa. Great update! :) Loving that it's weekly. I get so excited when I see it posted.
So lindsey is dipping into petty cash huh? I'm thinking Gamblers Anonymous isn't as effective as everyone had hoped. Just my guess on it. She's relly digging herself into a big hole. Like many other thigs, gampling addiction is a disease, but with her whole attitute, she really isn't going to recieve much sympathy or understanding from the others. (well, except Michael perhaps)
Jennifer to the rescue! She's gathering the troops and marching against Joan. Can't wait to see how you write the courtroom scenes. :) Lots of angst...and probably a few chuckles along the way. Joan getting put in her place always makes me smile. (really hoping that everything goes in way of the boys staying with B&J!!)
This weekend should be....interesting. If Gus is jealous of JR, how will he be when the boys bring a bouncing new baby into teh mix. I can see her manipulating Gus's thoughts, telling him that Daddy and Justin won't love him as much if there's another baby. Nevertheless, it's going to be a busy weekend for the family adn friends. Author's Response: I try my best to post a chapter every week, don't always make that goal. We don't know that Lindsay is dipping into petty cash, all my readers seem to be suspicious people. Keep in mind we haven't heard anything about GA since the move back from Canada. I don't think Lindsay is attending meetings. Maybe those suspicions are justified??? Tillie might be carrying a switch blade in her purse so Joan better behave herself.
I think Saturday will be a wild and crazy day but fun filled as well. 8 kids running around means a lot of noise and activity. I think Gus knows he never goes to JR's father's house or does anything fun with them so he doesn't want to share his time with his Daddy & Papa. I'm sure that B&J will make him understand that a new additon would not make them love him any less but you are correct that is a ways off. What is Lindsay up to. Something fishy is going on at the Gallary. I think if Ted asked Sidney about the petty cash, Sidney would be surprised to learn that $300 had been spent. Another great chapter in this very entertaining story. I got a chuckle when Brian looked to make sure that Justin hadn't fallen out of bed. I really like the way that you use actions to convey meaning or emotion, rather than using dialogue or statements. I've noticed that in several of the chapters. Loved the interaction between Jennifer and Kevin--very touching. I'm glad Jennifer will be riding herd on LIndsay. Maybe Michael and Warren can get together...seems like they have a lot in common. It is good to see B & J have some alone time...always good to have balance. A miniature Justin would be hard to resist...the cuteness would be off the charts. Thanks for the story...love it.

I don't think Michael is clueless. Far from it. He's had people setting him straight over and over and over. He knows the truth but he's just happier to stick with the lies in his head. They can show him Justin's tax returns or a commision check and he'll still see what he wants to see. Author's Response: I still think he is clueless but he is also very, very resistant to change and just a touch delusional. I think many people in life stick with their opinions even in the face of overwhelming evidence those opinions are incorrect. Many of those people are currently interested in becoming President of the USA. (Couldn't resist sorry) I think Ben enjoys having a kind of helpless husband, just my opinion from the show and in my story.

Hi, I really enjoyed Kevin's special day. Kevin is so loving, can't understand the woman who was critical that Jen was not grandmother by blood but by love, busybodies are so rude. Speaking of rude, Warren the new manager of the diner is clueless man and the way she loves her customers Warren is in for a bumpy ride. I really don't understand Mikey's constantly calling Ted, and Brian and Justin cheap that is the pot calling kettle black. So glad Brian and Justin are following up to having a child between them and Gus, John and Peter it will be a much loved baby (girl!). Will the boys finally be adopted by Brian and Justin, I certainly hope, the love is there lets wrap up the paperwork, okay you know I want more chapters, your writing is so good I just get greedy for more.

Kevin is full of love and Jennifer is a perfect "love grandmother" who gets as much love as she gives and is happy doing it. Warren needs to develop better people skill for sure!! I think Mikey feels since he doesn't make much money that absolves him of any need to take financial reponsibility for anything. So far it is working for him. I think a baby, boy or girl, will come in for lots of love. We'll all have to wait and see if it is a boy or a girl. Permenent custody hearing coming up soon, hopefully it will all go well. **Side note** About the baby for B/J; it may throw some major twists and turns in the story which could be fun. What if Claire was the egg donor, so that the baby was part of Brian too? I would like to say I will post more frequently but honestly about once a wekk is the best I can do. Some readers only like to read finished stories so they don't get left hanging. Author's Response: My friend, your English is much better than my German which is nothing. My Great Grandmother came to the US from Hesse in the late 1800's. My grandmother often threw German words into her conversations, at least she told us they were German words. Happy you enjoyed this latest chapter. Brian really only enjoys hugs with his Sunshine. I agree we always have to remember and watch out for prejudice and bigotry. I always liked that poem I quoted, it tells a complex story in a simple way. I am almost done the first draft of chapter 73.

I just read the latest chapter, and laughed and laughed at Claire's letter, really Brian's grades made her look bad, how dumb can she get. Joan looked silly after had to admit that Brian arranged for her to attend her grandson's birthday party thanks to Jen. Claire and Joan are seriously suffering from lack of brain matter. It's sad Nora doesn't realize that she was wrong in her opinon of Justin and Peter, I was so glad her aunt stood with her husband and was sending her home.You know what I'm going to say: More chapters please, this story just grabs you and it's hard not knowing what's happening, just a really great story.
Author's Response: Claire's letter is pretty silly but it shows how she thinks of herself as a helpless victim. Joan just can't get her head around real life, she wants life to be a certain way and people to behave a certain way and that is just not working out for her. Gotta say I love this. The most important part, to me, was the interaction of Nora and her aunt. The poem you added was perfect and can't be mentioned enough.
Now to get to Claire and her warped view of her life. She could get away with a plea of insanity, since that is what she is. Her mother needs to join her, except that might continue to perpeptuate the lies.
Love how the judge didn't buy into her lies.

Author's Response: Really pleased you liked the Nora/aunt exchange. That was my favorite past of this chapter. I love that poem, written about the Nazis, but can still serve as a warning to warn about extremists forever by just changing the groups that are targetted. I got in from Japan this morning at 1 and after 10 hrs sleep had to get caught up on what I've missed. Your story is first on my list of reads! Peter and John are so much better behaved then when they lived with Claire. Peter is especially attached to Justin and watches his back. Love how you got Greg to get severence pay from the hospital. Wish something would happen with the software that would cause trouble for Hal and his friend and have the hospital begging Greg to come back, not that he would. Now I'm off to see that next chapter.

character, I keep hoping that with Tino gone she would sort of
understand things better. It did seem that everything she said
and did was drugs and addiction related. But that letter… I
don’t see what she had to gain by writing it. Maybe jail is the
best place for her.
In the conversation between Jen and Joan, Jennifer left out
that Claire could be going to jail for murder. The murder of
her son Justin. Luckily Justin was spared, and of course it could
have been Peter. It doesn’t appear that Joan understands or 3
cares.

Author's Response: I think maybe Claire got involved with drugs because of all her life issues. Like Brian she was a basically unhappy, screwrd up person from her horrible childhood. Brian got some Sunshne in his life , Claire wasn't that lucky. Maybe jail will shock her into an hinest look at her life. Jennifer feels the real villain is Joan because she was such a really bad mother and did not protect her children from abuse.

Author's Response: I think a judge could be amused by all the discussion in this case, helps relieve the tedium of a lot of court cases. Claire alone is pretty fascinating and then to add in Joan WOW! I am glad you love my Jennifer, she is always looking out for her boys. Amazing how Claire can blame Brian for everything from being born to helping her children in the bitchiest way she can.

What can I say that I haven't already...this chapter was especially good for me. I love how the judge handled Claire and Joan's foolery in court, I'm glad he was able to see past the bullshit. What stood out more for me though was Nora's aunt and her lesson on prejudices and the different groups they affect...I've had to deal with it all of my life because of my skin tone so I can appreciate someone like her addressing it the way she did. Thank you for making it part of your wonderful story.

I thought Nora was a good opportunity to show that prejudice and bigotry are not new concepts and when they are not challenged horrible things can (and have) happened. I have always loved that poem about Nazi Germany. I think that message is timeless. I am glad you approve of that part of the chapter. Joan and Claire, they should be sharing a jail cell - that could be a whole new story.

Where to start Brian and Justin protecting the other and thus not sleeping well with John and Peter recognizing it they really are learning their Uncles to the point where they are both going to be very amused if they just sit back and watch their drama unfold. You kind of glossed over the Greg and Brian stuff I would have loved to read about the meeting maybe Greg can tell his wife about it next chapter so we can see a little more detail, Nora is a dummy who I doubt will learn even with real lessons shoved in her face. I think she went for Peter because of how he came to her to see Claire and she felt a need within her to protect him the fact that it helps Justin and Brian was just a bonus. Your right I doubt your courtroom had any reality to it but I liked yours better. And now for a challenge because I need some Brian and Justin reunion sex a new chapter in less than 5 days.... Give it a shot it could happen. You are still writing my favorite story so sometimes I feel the need to push...
Author's Response: I think observing B&J is a combination science experiment and stage play for John and Peter. I agree there is much potential amusment there for the J&P. I admit to glossing over Greg's vicit to Kinnetik. I was anxious to get to the courtrrom stuff which I think was great fun. You hear about so many goofy judges out there, who knows, maybe one would permit those antics. I agree about Jennifer's motive for attending Claire's day in court. I will promise to try hard to meet your request. Having said that we are supposed to have really nice weather for several days and I was at the garden store yesterday morning so lots to plant. Gardening always pushes writing to a back burner, because after gardening all day I am too tired to write. But I will really try!

I finally managed to get all the chapters that had yet to read this wonderful story.
I love to see Brian and Justin together and having a family. It's actually quite ironic and a slap in the face of Joan and Claire see the boys being family to Peter and John, giving them the love and stability that the two both need.
I think Kevin lovely and Gus in its history is fantastic!
I loved the attitude of Justin of this chapter. And Nora is really a hateful person.

I think the intern comes from narrow minded, bigoted parents and because of her ingrained homophobia she ASSUMED horrible things without any basis in fact. I think Patrick was afraid that his father being in a boss/employee relationship with Brian would chnage his friendship. There are bosses out there that like to keep a distance from their employees - I bet Hal doesn't socialize much with people who report to him at work. Author's Response: From my observations I think the server that houses Midnight Whispers is on Central Time. So there is a two hour time difference between us and MW. I am an old fashioned writer. I like to type it myself on the PC, then review & edit it (not always completely sucessfully) and read the final version again right before posting. This will sound pretty conceited but I enjoy this story - sometimes I go back and read past chapters - which is when I discover my edit failures. As long as readership stay up and people keep giving me positive feedback in reviews I will keep writing. I have ideas for storylines well into the future. Wow Justin in attack mode look out. I think this goes back to that blonde thing where everyone expects dumb and Justin walks in as the smartest person in the room. Ok the Nora thing was a little weird although why did younger Lindsay keep flashing through my mind.... I think Patrick and John will be fine once Patrick gets over the fact his Dad works for Brian but it may take some reassurance from John. Gus and Kevin won't even notice. Author's Response: Sorry to tell you that I don't actually have any firm plans to end this story. Still gets good number of readers for each new chapter and still get a nice number of reviews. Hope you'll ready the story anyway, nothing too bad happens in my story but can't say when it will ever be finished. I do promise that I won't leave you hanging in the middle of some story line. When I end it I will tie up any loose ends, I hate when stories just seem to end in the middle of something. Bill
