Hmm... I liked it! One of the only issues I have with Brian and Justin is that Brian kept telling Justin he couldn't change him and Justin would just have to accept him for who he was. Which is fair. But it never seemed to me that Brian reciprocated. He actually went out of his way to make Justin more like him rather than accepting Justin for needing a bit more commitment. And your last few lines I think we're perfect because Justin never needed the whole shebang. He just needed to know he was wanted, that he was different than the others. I feel like if they had learned to compromise in the show rather than having a tug of war of all or nothing then it would have ended very differently.
Ok, so that was kind of a rant... But the moral of the story is, I feel like you fixed a fundamental issue of their relationship! So thank you! And you're right... Just because it isn't a fairy tale doesn't mean there isn't a happy ending. Love takes work, but in the end it's worth it.
Author's Response: So many "if only's" to explore in the Britin saga. I agree, Justin needed the I love you more than the proposal and monogamy early in season 5. Oh well, makes for great fanfiction.
