Omg I was so scared for Gus and Tricky. If Mel finds out about this she will go ballistic. I love Ticky he needs to be in more stories 💕💕

that was a scary story... set a xmas, but read by me appropriately just before Halloween.  A parents very worst nightmare!

I can't help but wonder how the Muncher's are going to react learning of all of this but not being told about it even as the police were being called?

Dogs inside, the destruction is inevitable.  But they are unparalleled in their devoted care for their human family. Awesome little story

Author's Response:

Thank you for all your kind words.  And thank you for reading all of the Tricky stories! *Hugs* ~Kim

I read I doo doo and realized I needed more backstory on the one Brian called Cujo.

I loved the first part of the story.  Brian, whose voice you do very well, was so funny with his snarky comments but the best part was that a dog loved him so much that he had to be restrained. the imagery is priceless!  Oh, the indignity of dog hair and slobber!  Tricky is as taken with Brian as Justin was at 17 and neither would leave him alone.  Is there any intentional parallel or is this my interpretation alone?  either way, it's all good!

I didn't see the second part coming.  I am terrible about reading warnings or tags because I just don't want the natural progression of a story to be spoiled for me.  I am happy that all's well that ends well.  I am familiar with labs in more ways than I care to be.  They are insufferable creatures - and the most loving, loyal, happy animals on the planet.

Really nice story.

Author's Response:

Hi, Alnwick! I am glad you decided to read one of the other stories in the Tricky universe, and that you enjoyed it. There are a lot more of them if you have not read them, beginning with "Bless the Beasts and the Children." I hope you will check those out as well. It really provides a lot of background about their relationship.

Thank you for reading this story, and especially for the feedback! I really appreciate that.  ~Kim

When I was a kid we had a golden labrador and he was just as you have discribed Tricky... big and full of life leaping up and tail flailing around. He was also very intelligent, one night when everyone was asleep my stepfather came home unexpectedly late. He may have been inebriated and his footsteps were stumbeling. Our brilliant 'Flash' must have crept up onto the kitchen table and as my stepfather turned on the light Flash swerved as he would have jumped for the intruders throat. Flash never ever went on the table at any other time but he was there to save us all silently aiming at the intruder's throat. No wonder they use Labs as blind dogs.

Thanks for the lovely story, love from 6frog

Author's Response:

Hello, again!  What a great name for a dog! Love it! I adore labradors. They are such sweet, lovable dogs.  Loved the story you told. I'm not surprised that he acted the way he did.

To me, Tricky is a big, lovable kid, who may never grow up completely.  I'm so happy you enjoyed this story. I assume you have read the other stories in the series? I think this is the latest one; there are approximately 4 or 5 other ones, beginning with "Bless the Beasts and the Children."  I hope you will enjoy those as well.

BTW, I am working on a new Tricky story right now. As soon as I have it done, I will start posting some of it. Thanks again for the support, and for reading! It is greatly appreciated.  ~Kim

I love Trickey more stories please...even the savage beast can reduce Brian to a puddle of goo.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend! Thank you for reading this story, and especially for taking the time to comment. I love this love/hate relationship between "Cujo" and Brian, too.;)

I'm happy to say that my next new story will be another Tricky story.;)  I have it started aleady, but want to have most of it done before I start posting it so readers don't have such a long wait in between updates. Thank you once more for the support. That means a lot to me. *Hugs*  ~Kim

I wanted to let you know how much I've enjoyed reading your Tricky the dog series!! I read one after another and loved them! Tricky is hilarious how he antagonizes Brian and is his biggest fan! LOL The latest holiday story (and also when Tricky was at the vet's, with Brian watching over him) were my favorite parts. I hope there will be another story (or more) in this universe! Maybe the boys will adopt one of Tricky's puppies? LOLOL!!

Author's Response:

Hi, Lavender! Thank you for not only reading this latest Tricky story, but for also taking the time to let me know that you enjoyed it. That makes me happy to hear that.  And you will be glad to know that yes, Tricky WILL be returning sometime in the future in a new story, along with a little friend, much to Brian's consternation.;)

Thanks so much for reading, and for your support! It is greatly appreciated.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Oh, wow, very touching story, Kim. I’ve read about dogs staying with and protecting lost owners, I’ve even read about dogs finding lost people that they have no connection with and staying with them until help comes.   They aren’t called “man’s best friend” for nothing.

Loved the “140 lb furry missile” description BTW ; )

Hugs ~*~ Janet

Author's Response:

Hi, Janet! So good to see you back on here.;)  I'm glad you enjoyed Tricky's latest adventure.;)  And yes, those true stories I have read in the paper and online were my inspration for this.  Poor Brian - he wants to have nothing to do with the dog, but Tricky keeps doing things to make him change his mind.;)  I DO have another story eventually in the works where the boys will be preparing for their wedding; you can imagine what sort of havoc this '140-lb furry missile' will wreak before that happens - ha!

Thanks so much for reading, and for the feedback; very much looking forward to updates on your own stories soon (hint, hint...).  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Happy New Year!

I love your Tricky Stories.

Maybe some more are possible?

Thank you for sharing.

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Author's Response:

Hello, Chandrika!  Thank you for reading this story, and for your feedback; it is deeply appreciated.;) And yes, there WILL be at least one more Tricky story coming up about the boys' wedding, since in the last story before this one they had just become engaged.  I think I see a new member of the family arriving, too (the furry kind).  Thanks again for the support, and best wishes to you, too, for the coming year.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Achooo!  You know I'm allergic to your dog stories, right?  Just kidding.  This is another lovely tale of Brian and Justin and their love of Gus (and, eventually, Tricky.)  A nice Christmas story.  Now, off to take some antihistimine!

Author's Response:

Hello, my friend - I hope you had a great Christmas. I'm back in bleak, gray Ohio after spending a week in Florida visiting my mom.  Good to see her; not so good to be in a house with five other relatives.  Ugh.

Anyway, I thank you for reading this latest tale of Tricky's, and for the feedback.;)  Sorry to make you sneeze - ha! Thanks again for the support, and best wishes for the coming year. *Hugs*  ~Kim

This story is very heart-warming/ Tricky is to be loved anyway for his bracery and love for Gus-so take that Brian. He now feelsa a lot differently about him. Listeners will tear up, especially one. I take it you are in Florida or went there for Christmas. Nice pictures there. Hope your mum is doing well-has been a hard year for her as well. It's too bad you don't live closer to each other. We are all good-nice Christmas. We all went to a party at a local restaurant as noone wanted to cook becuse we were working so much. This time of year we should have a lull but not in this hospital. There were forty of us, had a secret santa and a great meal. Lee is doing so well now. I really want him to stay with me a few more months but we will see. He wants to spread nhis wings and get a small place. I guess I am too much of a mother hen!!! lol

Author's Response:

Hi, dear friend! I am glad you had a good Christmas, and SO thrilled to hear how well Lee is doing. That is wonderful! I do hope he agrees to stay with you just a bit longer; I think it would do him good.  I just got back from Florida today; talk about a reality check!  Ugh. Gray and dreary here. It was so nice down there this past week - highs in the low to mid 70's and mainly sunny. Got some beautiful sunset photos that I may post on my LJ soon.

Tell all the peeps thanks for their support. I'm going to finish up "Love and Drama," and then move onto (finally) updating "Tame the Wild Stallion." Tricky will be back, though, at some point; I still have a wedding to give the boys.;) Thanks as always for your ongoing support and friendship, lindc. I hope the coming year brings peace and happiness for all of you.  *Hugs* ~Kim

Great happy holiday story.  Always enjoy a Tricky story.  This was a nice post Christmas Day present.  Bill

Author's Response:

Hi, Bill! I hope you had a good Christmas, my friend. I spent this past week in Florida visiting my mom; today was a slap back to reality, though, when I returned home to Ohio - LOL!  It was nice while it lasted.;)  Thanks for reading this story, and for your comments, my friend. Best wishes for the coming year. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your story as well.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hello, my friend!

I loved their beautiful Christmas story.

I love to see Brian and Trick. Is incriível see what Brian is able to do to ensure the happiness of whom he loves, even if  is live with a dog like Trick. I think Ilário the unconditional love that Trick has for Brian and their demonstrations of love for Mr. Kinney.

I was concerned about the Gus and Trick adventure. It was great that Trick was with Gus to protect it. Trick to be the great hero of this story is wonderful.

I really like the dynamic that you created between Brian & Justin and Gus & Trick in the universe of their stories. I hope to read new stories with Trick and the Taylor-Kinney family.

A Happy New Year, my friend and thank you for this wonderful Christmas present.

A big hug, my dear friend!

Fátima.

Author's Response:

Hello, Fatima!  Happy New Year to you, too, dear friend! I hope it is a peaceful one for you.;)  I will have at least one more Tricky story coming up, but it will have to wait until I have more time to work on it, and I need to complete my unfinished stories first. Thank you for reading this story, and for your comments, my friend.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Oh man what a scary Christmas adventure our little Gus had, but luckily Tricky was there to help keep him safe. Brian and Justin must have been relived beyond words that Gus came through unharmed.

Author's Response:

Hi, Tamara!  Yeah, had to throw just a bit of drama in there for Tricky and his idol's son.;)  I have read of dogs protecting children who have been lost, and could see Tricky doing this. He is a very rambunctious dog, but I think a very intelligent one, too.;p)

Thanks as always for your support, Tamara. Best of wishes to you for the coming year, my friend. *Hugs*  ~Kim

I loved the story. Brian and Tricky make such a pair.

I have really enjoyed this series of stories. Especially when Justin and Brian had the slight split only to have a fire occur in the studio to make Brian  realize how much he loves Justin. There again, Tricky saved a loved one of Brian's just as Tricky saved Gus in this story.

Please keep writing because I believe you are a gifted writer.

Waiting for the other continued stories to be updated.

Have a nice winter. Debbie

Author's Response:

Hi, Debbie! Thank you for reading, and for your kind words! It means a lot to me that you think I am a good writer.  And yes, you are right about Tricky and the fire, although this was one meant to be more of a 'parallel universe' story.  I'm so appreciative that you have been reading the other Tricky stories; thank you.  I will have at least one more of these for the boys' wedding, but it will be a while yet. As you mentioned, I have some WIPs to finish, so I am going to try and concentrate on those. "Tame the Wild Stallion" will be updated soon, and they will all be finished.

Thank you again for the support, Debbie!  Best wishes to you for the coming year. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Thank you so much. Your stories always recover. You know that here there are so sad stories and I really enjoy them, but then something like this as a break.I love animals, I have several cats, always was my desire to have a dog, a little like the one Jack Russell species. At some point I will fulfill that desire.
I think maybe you could write a story where Brian gets in a fight and seek help from a professional "promptersdogs ". Some nice, sympathetic male character, where they will eventually be Brian very jealous.

Merry Christmas!

Orhida.

Author's Response:

Hi, Orhida! Thank you as always for reading, and for taking the time to comment, my firend.  I think I needed a little break from all the angst, too, especially around Christmas.;)  Thank you for the story suggestion, also; I really appreciate that.  I have so many new stories in my head that I would love to write; if only I had unlimited time.;p)

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Best wishes for the coming year.  I hope I can continue to write stories that you enjoy.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Great story. I love Tricky's antics. I'm glad that Brian and Tricky have come to an understanding. Dogs often are wonderfully protectors. I am wondering though about Lindsay and Mel - when they finally find out it won't be pretty.....

Author's Response:

Hi, Monica! Thank you for reading this story, and for your comments.  I suspect you are right about Mel and Lindsay, knowing them, but since I meant for this to be basically a one-shot, I will have to leave that up to readers to imagine.;)  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! Best wishes for the coming year. And thank you again for the support. *Hugs*  ~Kim

i have to admit I wish you would write more of this story, a bit more often then you do.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend! Thank you for reading this story. I am assuming you mean that you wish I would write more Tricky stories?  If so, I WILL have another one coming up at some point about the boys' wedding, but it will have to wait until I can finish my WIPs first.  I am so happy, though, that you like Tricky.  I love Labradors; I think they are such loving dogs.;) Thanks again for reading this story, and for the feedback; it is greatly appreciated.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

What a wonderful Christmas present for us!  Tricky is the hero of the day.  And Brian knows it.  Will they tell Lindsay and Mel what happened?

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend! I hope you had a good Christmas.  I appreciate you reading, and the kind words; so happy that you enjoyed it.  I will have to let the story end where it did, but I imagine that it would have been easy for the girls to learn what happened when it involved a certain, little boy.  But hopefully they would understand that it was not intentional.

Thank you for the support! Best wishes for the coming year.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

This was a beautiful story.
I laughed and I cried, a lot. The part about the 'old' smell was hilarious. The part where Justin felt guilty and then the dog barking so they could find them made me cry.
At least Brian found something to like about the dog, they really can be wonderful at times.

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading, and for the feedback, Lorie!  I kind of liked the 'old' comment, too.;)  I think Brian got his point across very well, don't you?:D  Tricky and Brian definitely have an on again, off again relationship.

There will be one more story, at least, in this 'verse before I conclude their adventures together.  But it will have to wait until I can work on my WIPs.  Thanks again for the support, Lorie! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas; best wishes for the coming year.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

How sweet of you to write a story just for me! I think this should insure Tricky will no longer have to worry about Brian treating him like an unwanted pest. I was wondering if Brian realized that his need for a shower buddy is what caused Justin to leave Gus alone for an extended period of time. I was wondering why the police didn't think that perhaps Gus had been abducted my his evil other set of parents, isn't that always the first thought when a child goes missing. Were Mel and Lindsay even notified Gus was lost? I was afraid he had been lured away by either Mikey or Ethan and being used for medical experiments, now that new laws are being passed to protect chimps it seems like small children will be the logical next lab choice. Ok, maybe that went a bit too far. But I could see Mikey doing something horrible. What a great story to find, the perfect ending to the Christmas season. Thanks so much for all the wonderful stories you share. I love them all but one with Tricky is always a little more special.
Lori

Author's Response:

Hi, Lori!  LOL!  Experiments with chimps and Mikey or Ethan luring Gus away...OMG, you continue to crack me up!  And yeah, it WAS kind of Brian's fault for being so horny.:)  I'm so glad you enjoyed this one, Lori.  I will have another Tricky story at some point to probably conclude the series, but not for a while; have to work on my other WIPs first.;)

BTW, thank you, too, for the E-card for Christmas! It was lovely; I thought it was great, and you even included a Tricky in it.;)  Her cards are amazing!  Thank you for thinking of me. Happy New Year to you and Tadhg!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Well Tricky has certainly earned a few face licks from Brian now d84;a039; Lovely look into this universe

Author's Response:

Hi, Chris! I hope you had a good Christmas, my friend.  Yes, this certainly helped Tricky to be elevated to more of a friend status now.;)  But do not fear, he will still be tormenting Brian coming up in another story in the 'verse.  Thanks so much for reading, and especially taking the time to comment, Chris; I deeply appreciate that.  Happy New Year, BTW! *Hugs* ~Kim

Thank you for a beautiful Christmas gift, and having Tricky save Gus was magical. Hope you had a nice holiday and hope to see much more of Tricky and some more chapters of your other bj stories. Love, a true fan of yours.

Author's Response:

Thank you for your kind words; I hope you had a good holiday, too.  I WILL have another Tricky story in the future about the boys' wedding, but not before I can work on completing my other WIPs.  I WILL get them completed as soon as I am able to.  Thank you for all the support!
