I was trying to hold out until you finished this story before I started to read. No such luck. I couldn't wait. I love this story and your writing style. What a lovely life they have worked hard for, looking forward to the birth of the twins.
Dee Dee
Author's Response: Hi Dee Dee, thanks for the very nice review. I am happy to know you are enjoying the story. I promise not to leave you hanging but I know it is a drag to wait for each update. I am hoping to wrap this story up about 5 more chapters. That should take us through New Years!! The next story will have the arrival of the twins. Thanks again for taking time to review I love to hear from the readers, especially when they are as flattering as you. I do realize that is shallow of me. Bill

Well, it's Monday, so here I am. :)
Terrific as usual. So glad that our boys were able to work things out properly. Everything can't be completely smooth sailing with those 2. Would make for a very boring life. (and story. lol) I do like a fairly quick fix though, especially in a fic such as this, where the angst is at a minimum between them.
Joan really isi her own worst enemy. I wonder how long it will take for her to see things even slightly differently, if at all. I get the slight impression that you may be headed in that direction, but then she opens her mouth and that idea tend to go down the tubes. ;/ Perhaps John adn Peter will have a greater influence on her than anyone else? Who knows.
It's good for the boys to also see slight h=mishaps between B&J as well. It allows them to see that while they may dissagree adn at times act childish, they work things out adn talk out their issues. Makes them see what a healthy relationship is all about rather than what they've grown up to see.
Such excitement over the twins!! Looking forward to reading their invovlement during this time with Eden. Getting prepared and all. how the rest of teh family will react etc.
As always, it's such a perk and bright spot to my day to be able to sit down adn read and update of yours. Of course, will eagerly await your next installment.
Thank you.
Cheers,
Elaine
Author's Response: You always make my Mondays more pleasant!!! This is truly a low angst story. I think B&J really love each other so they are anxious to resolve difference. They resolve to communicate better but I'm betting they run into trouble in the future. I just posted a little story on "What Joan Thinks". She has a unique way of looking at life! I agree it is good for John & Peter to see how couples resolve differences. I don't think they saw much of that with Claire. I think the twins will give us lots of storylines. Your reviews always bring a bright spot to my day so looks like we are even!!!! Thanks for the review!!!!!! Bill

Well, I'm glad the boys sorted that out. Every couple has arguments (after nearly 36 years tell me about it - wow, I'm getting old....) but they both know they need to communicate and they did. Joan is just hateful and I feel sorry for her - sort of - well really I just want to scream at her and tell her she's an ungrateful..................(fill in whatever words you wish) but some people are just hateful to their very core.
Author's Response: Some people think ti is good to have arguments on occasion, it clears the air. B&J know they should communicate but I bet it doesn't always happen. Joan has her own unique way if looking at life. I think she doesn't think of herself as mean just honest. Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed this chapter. I have a surpise little story coming up next, hope you like it. Bill

Hi,
Thanks for another terrific chapter. There were many things I
liked until we got to the part when Brian and Justin took Joan her
meal. What she said was very hurtful. This was a time for her to
say nothing. I understand, for religious reason, she feels the way
she feels. Ok, but no need to say anything when her son and
Justin are obvious giving her, what to them is wonderful news. If I
could have, I would have drove through the screen, taken her
food dish and trashed it, packed her bags, and sent her home to
live or die alone.
I know, I know, this is only a fictional story. But geeez……
DavidR
Author's Response: Gald you enjoyed te latest chapter except for Joan. I think Joan looks at the world in her own unique way. She doesn't much care what other people think. Quite a compliment for you to get so worked up, Thanks!!!! I appreciate the comments and you lnow I love reviews!!!!!!!!! Bill

Hello my sweet Baboo, In answer to your question, last time, I'm still coloring. A stiff neck or shoulder tells me I need to color for 30 or 45 minutes to ease the stress. And this week has been stressful, with the senseless killings in Orlando. I think back to Matthew Shepard who died in 1998, and the qaf series end of season one with the bashing...don't we read and see enough on tv the hate and violence hopefully the children of today won't revisit these hate crimes. I'm straight but have many gay friends and I worry for their safety. Assalt weapons belong in wars not on street corners. I've ranted enough, now about the update, Brian and Justin love each other and their family a blow up between them is normal and healthy. I pity Joan, she's alone and not well and doesn't have a friend in the world, she may not be happy about the twins, but everyone else is (mikey and Lindsay don't count) I still visualize a mud pit with Jen and Alice taking on Joanie. I love your story and need more. Your Sally
Author's Response: My Darling Sally, glad to know you are still indulging your artistic sensibilities!!!! What an excellent way to relieve stress. The bad thing about today's world is it is impossible to escape from the news - TV, the internet even the old fashioned newspaper keep us informed, somtimes more than I would like!! I agree about assault rifles, I can't understand why we can't ban their sale. No one NEEDS and assualt rifle. Guess that angers any NRA readers but somehow I don't think I have that many. I agree about B&J they love each other but little blowups occur in all relationships. I imagine Brian is still harboring that fantasy about back yard mud wrestling but it will have to wait until Joan is all healed. Joan has a sad life but mostly that is her own fault. She and Mikey are the truly unchanging characters in my story. Always happy to read your comments. Next up I have a little one chapter story that I think will be fun. After that HH will continue. Thanks for the review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! your sweet Baboo

Oh joy! Another fantastic chapter. Brian and Justin together like they should be. Joanie with her nose stuck in the air, thinking she's too good for everyone. Next we'll learn how much fun Peter and John have with Jennifer. Bet that will set Granny Joan off. lol.
Author's Response: Happy, as always, to see your review. I was getting a little nervous thinking there might not be a review from you!!! Lots of B&J time. I don't think Joanie will be as happy to see Grandmom Jen as the rest of the household!! Thanks for your review it made my day!!!! Bill

Feeling much better now having read this chapter. It was good to see both Brian and Justin each admit where they went wrong. I thought Brian's effort to explain his feelings was a good reflection of his struggles with emotions and, of course, his childhood trauma. I thought it was remarkably mature of Brian to help take dinner to his mother, not that he got any thanks from her for it. I could rattle on about B & J's reunion, but I'll stop. Glad that Brian showed Alice his appreciation. Super excited to hear about the twins. Really enjoyed the writing in this chapter...you had me laughing and chuckling quite a bit, especially the ending line. Looking forward to the next installment. BTW, hope you are continuing to feel well. Thanks!
Author's Response: Happy to know I was able to relieve your anxiety. B&J are usually pretty honest with each other and they were both wrong. Their issues seem to come when they aren't honest. I imagine finding out that Justin actually had betrayed him would be the worse thing that could happen to Brian. The good thing I can't imagine that ever happening. This is very conceited to say but I amused myself when I wrote that last line. I thought it was a perfect reflection of Brian & Justin's relationship. Thanks for the nice review, always make me happy to hear from the readers!!!!!!! Bill

I am always happy to see a new chapter but this one has me a little I don't know not happy not unhappy maybe just a little weirded out maybe it's reading it in the middle of the night. I am just not sure I am happy with it don't get me wrong I am glad Brian and Justin talked and seem to be back to being them. Maybe it's Joan's reaction to the babies but that was what I expected. I can't put my finger on what I did not like about this but there is something. I will figure it out, I guess I will just say thanks for giving us another chapter and I hope the next one is about the show in New York. I think maybe the fix in this chapter was too easy I am back to wanting drama major major drama not Brian and Justin fighting drama just some kind of something I am not even making sense to me so I am going to end this with my usual request of more soon
Author's Response: I am reading this review in the morning and it leaves me a little wierded out. Sorry this update disappointed you but I guess you can't please all the people all the time. Thanks for letting me know how you feel. I think Brian & Justin really care deeply about each other and that is why the fix was "too easy". I felt like they were honest with each other about what happened but everyone has the right to their own opinion. I hope you find the next chapter more enjoable. THanks for the review I always like to hear from the readers and truly appreciate your honesty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Hey sweetness; As usual my sweet Baboo, I started raving and forgot some important info.I was glad to see Nina in the chapter, also a reviewer thought we have to many charactors. Every charactor you have brought us is vital to the story and fit in perfectly, if the reader can't keep up they should write down the list and their importance to Brian and Justin. I was happy about the sex of the babies, a little brother for Gus that will be spoiled by the cousins and a little girl who will be able to bat her lashes and wrap everyone around her tiny finger. I think John and Peter who love to help will embrace these tiny babies and Gus and Kevin will be happy. I don't see any problems the boys know they are loved and that won't changed. As Jen always says the more love you give is only more love to be received. Love, Sally
Author's Response: Dear Sally, I thought it was time to have a little Nina in the story. I sometimes think there are too many characters. I have trouble finding time to include all the characters. I agree that the new baby girl will probably be surrounded by adoring men. All four boys will be great helpers which will be needed when twin babies are in the house. I don't think Justin will want a full time nanny. Jennifer is a wise woman and knows what she is talkig about. A double review so I a doubly grateful to you!!!! Your sweet B

My Sweet Baboo: I was so glad to see your update. I read some of the reviews and one of them had me laughing all day the phrase "Holy Shitballs !". I think it's really no ones fault just a set of circumstances coming together. Brian went off half-cocked, he knows that Justin would never betray him. I think it was good Alice let Jus know the pool house was a good idea that B & J would never have to see her and she would see to her meals to make sure she ate, the best thing after John's experiment with liqour, the liqour is under lock and key and by the time she healed she would dry out, a plus for her health and relief for Brian. Justin never needs Brian to say he's sorry, he loves him enough not to humble Bri, but it's time for Bri to man up and apology is in order. The fact that Joan tells her grandsons the food is wonderful and smiles and even acts like a human being. I guess she agreed to live there because she was all alone and was scared she might die alone and no one would ever find out for days. Alice is tough but she was quite truthful with Joan. I understand Brian not wanting her there because of Gus, and the twins. I still think Brian is tired of Debbie as a mother, and as much as loves Jenn they someone elses mother he wants a mother he can call his own. As long as they both are alive there is hope. I love this story and so glad it is continuing. Your Sally Always
Author's Response: My darling Sally, I am always glad to see your review!! Another reviewer once wrote that they liked reading the reviews and my replies almost as much as the story. I think Joanie was sharp enough to bring at least some vodka with her. After all her years of drinking alcohol I'm not sure it would be good for her to go cold tukey but with Alice on duty Joan will certainly drink less. I think B&J will have a good talk and decide there were mistakes made on both sides. Brian's biggest mistake was refusing to let Justin now he was safe after he rushed away from home. I think Alice convinced Joan that the pool house was her best option. I'm not sure Brian wants to have a mother/son realtionship with Joan but he can't ignore her. Thanks for all your nice comments and thanls for always being such a faithful reviewer!!! Hope the coloring is gong well and you are still having fun with it!!!! your sweet Baboo

Hi, Bill! As usual, I'm late to the party.;) Sorry about that. Just way too little time, and way too much to do.
Wow, Alice sure let Brian know her opinion on this one - ha! At least I think Brian has a much better idea of what actually happened. I COULD see where it could be awkward for Brian and Gus, for example, with Joan being so close by, but who knows? Maybe something positive will come out of this whole thing yet. Joan certainly isn't helping matters. I see where Brian gets his obstinance from - ha!
Both men are very stubborn, but I was heartened to see Brian show up for the ultrasound. I thought in the end he would, but was glad to see it happen. Now they will, I'm sure, have a long talk afterward, and I am confident they can straighten things out. I do think Justin should have found a way to warn him first, but I also realize he was in a difficult situation, too.
As always, a great chapter, Bill! Thank you for posting your story on here. We are very blessed to have you as a writer. ~Kim
Author's Response: Hi Kim, thanks for taking time to review. You know I love reviews, but what MW author doesn't love to get reviews. I think Alice felt a little guilty since it was her idea to move Joan into the pool house. Now we know that Brian got his annoyed expression and obstinance from Joanie. It may be interesting for Gus to get to know his grandmother Kinney a little. It will make quite a comparison to Grandmom Jen!
I'm pretty sure that B&J did NOT enjoy their night apart and will have a talk to clear the air and may even wind up having a little sex to seal the deal. I always appreciate your comments and I am grateful you convinced me to post my story on Midnight Whispers!!! Bill

You really had me scared at the end of the last chapter. Do not do that anymore .I am glad Alice talked some sense into Brian. A boy and a girl that is great.
Author's Response: Happy I was able to calm your fears. I did think aout letting the estrangement continue for a little while but I just couldn't do it. I think a baby girl in the midst of men & boys will be interesting. Thanks for taking the time to review!!!!!!!!! Bill

Go, Alice! Love the strong women in this story.
Alice uses just the right tone in setting Brian straight, letting him know Justin didn't betray him and acknowledging it may have been a mistake not to call Brian in Chicago to let him know what was happening and get his input.
Thank goodness Alice does light a fire under Brian. He'd regret not being at the hospital with Justin to learn the sex of their children.
A boy and a girl will be joining the Taylor Kinney household. Hooray! 😊
Thanks for yet another wonderful chapter!
Author's Response: Another member for the pro Alice team. The important thing is B&J are talking again and they were both there to learn they were having a daughter & a son. Well it's Monday, so guess what that means. I'm baaaaaaaaaaaack. :) Yup, Mondays are my review days.
I had a feeling Alice would go to Brian. I know she felt responsible for what happened between them, but I also know she meant well. she's right in the fact that Brian wouldn't have just left his mother high and dry. I think it's just sthat he didn't have control of the situation. He reacted without thinking anything through, then I think his pride got in the way. He's not one to want to eat crow.
I gather there are mixed feelings re: Alice getting involved, about Justin not telling Brian about Joan etc. Yes, there should've been communication, however, J was assuming B would give him the opportunity to explain. You know, like a mature person would instead of walking out like a petualant teen. I know his feelings about Joan, but we also know that had he listened to J and even Alice, he would've understood. He may not have been happy about it, but....And perhaps J should've talked to B while away, but.... I guess it's one of those coulda, shoulda, woulda moments.
I knew you would make this a short thing between B&J. Thankful for that!! ( I did love Aice's threat. :) )
Glad you brought Nina back into it even for a moment. I honesty sort of forgot about her. (smack my hand) She is such a little cutey.
Boy and a girl! Yay! what an exciting moment for the 2 dads.
I'm assuming we will be a fly on the wall when they have their chat?
What a great chapter!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Low angst but still there.
Cheers!!
Elaine
Author's Response: Hi Elaine, Happy Monday!!! There are definetely mixed feelings on this whole situation. When I was writng this my feelings were that lack of communication was the big villain. Justin didn't want to talk about lunch wth Joan. He didn't want to tell Brian that Joan said he was selfish. Brian knows his mother doesn't have a high opinion of him. Justin doesn't want to worry Brian while he is on a business trip. Brian has always had trust issues and when he comes home and Joan is there all his trust issues come to the fore. Maybe plans were made at the lunch to move Joan to the house while he was out of town. I think betrayal was really what Brian feared. That is my take on what happened. One problem I find with having so many characters is getting them some time in the story so I thought I thrwo in alittle Nina. I anticipated this sequel would be about 10 chapters and move us through new years. Obviosuly that did not happen. Probably more like 20 chpaters. I just can't get away from details but I guess that is okay.
Thanks for all your reviews they make my Mondays much more fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill
Reviewer: Anonymous (Anonymous) · Date: June 06, 2016 03:18 AM · On: Chapter 12
I still think Justin should have told Brian what was going on, instead of trying to spare him because of Brian's business trip. I think Brian should have allowed Justin an opportunity to explain instead of storming out. But, I can understand his immediate reaction, even to the point of giving him a few hours to calm down. Staying out all night and refusing to even text Justin a brief "I'm okay" was taking it too far. Given all of this, I have to be relieved that Alice confronted Brian. I see her action here as less butting in and more as wanting to set the record straight that it was her idea to bring Joan to their home. Alice is a wise woman and I wouldn't be surprised if she learns a lesson from this and decides that from here on out that she will let B&J work out their own problems. I'm a fan of Alice (and see her as more of a family member, rather than an employee) and especially of Jennifer. I like how you portray these strong women. Nobody is perfect--not Brian, not Justin, not Alice or anybody else. Everyone deserves some latitude from time to time for the mistakes they make. I'm glad you fixed this. I never enjoy seeing B&J at odds. You can see that I am way too wound up in your story. Always glad to see a new chapter. Thanks!
Author's Response: I agree the main issue here is the failure of Justin and Brian to communicate. You are in the pro Alice camp but if you have read the reviews there is disagreement over Alice's role in all this. As I have written several times I am really enjoying the reviews for this chapter since the readers have such a variety of opinions. This is a low angst story, there is no danger of any permanent break between B&J. As Jennifer has said they are true soulmates. I am always glad to see a new review so thanks back to you for posting one. I love to get reviews and they are what keeps me writing the story!!!! Bill
Reviewer: Paula (Anonymous) · Date: June 06, 2016 02:06 AM · On: Chapter 12
Hello! Very good work once again! I don't agree with Brian's attitude about what Justin did. How can he accuse his husband of betrayal without giving him a chance to explain himself? What could Justin do? Let Joan alone and injured? How could Justin explain later or forgive himself later if something bad hapenned to Brian's mother because he did not do anything? And for he not calling Brian, he was just worried with his husband's work, what we all know is very important to Brian. And he had already said to Alice that if Brian didn't like the idea of Joan with them, he would support Brian in other idea. So, for acting like a immature teenager and runing away without a second thought, Brian should really really apologise to his husband.
Well, that's it. I love some angst sometimes and you just provided it. Keep up this very good work. I love this series!
Kisses and Kudos
Author's Response: Thanks for the nice comments!!! As I have written in other responses this is an interesting chapter for reviews. There are people angry at Justin, some like you think it si mostly Brian's fault and some think Alice should have minded her own business. I have enjoyed the reviews as much as any reader enjoyed this chapter!! To me lack of communication is the main error here. Justin wouldn't tell Brian what happened at lunch, he tried to protect Brian when he was away by keeping the latest Joan crisis a secret. When Brian got back he chould have given Justin a chnace to explain not run away and refuse to even let Justin now he was safe. Maybe Alice should have minded her own business. Lots of blame to share!!! Thanks for letting me know you are reading and enjoying the story. I love to hear from readers so I LOVE to get reviews, Thanks for taking time to post one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Fantastic, and Alice was wonderful, happy she is stubborn and let Brian have it.
Lets hope some of the angst between Brian and Justin is gone. Hopefully Joanie will keep quiet and heal quickly so she ca return home. Very exciting news about the twins, boy and girl cann't asked for any happier news.
Already looking forward to the next update, thanks for sharing.

Author's Response: Hi JoAnn, hope you are feeling great!!!! You are a member of the pro Alice team. The reviews are very mixed on Alice and her role in this chapter. Hi,
Another great chapter. They remind me so much of my college
days, English Lit. 101. I can just hear my teacher say, “Class,
‘betrayal is a very strong word. Why would Brian use that word?
For tomorrow write an essay of at least 100,000 words (well, it
always seemed that way), why Brian is wrong or right.”
(This is meant as a compliment to your writing.) My 100,000
word essay would have been about Craig having issues and Brian
bring him to Britin to live in the east wing of the mansion. How
would Justin feel?
DavidR
PS:
I like the idea of Justin having twins, a boy and one girl. I think
that was one thing Brian hasn't experience that he will soon will.
A precious little girl in his arms.
Author's Response: I think Justin agrees with your college professor and I do also. There is an interesting difference of opinion on who was right and who was wrong in this chapter. Personally I think there is plenty of blame to spread around. Lack of communication often seems to get B&J in trouble. You are not alone in bringing up Craig. At least Joan never attacked Justin or had Brian arrested. It is true that neither is likely to get a parent of the year award. This chapter has the most fascinating reviews that I ver remember getting. I think Brian will be putty in the hands of his daughter. Thanks for being such a faithfukl reviewer, I really appreciate you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Hi Bill : ) Okay, I just have to say this – Brian is being an idiot, but I’m glad Alice made him listen to what she had to say and that he went to the sonogram. Hopefully now he’ll pull his head out of his rear and listen to Justin. Looking forward to the next chapter : ) *Hugs* Janet
Author's Response: Hi Janet, I think Brian is a victim of his insecurities. He was upset to think that Justin would side with someone beside him. I agree he acted like an idiot, he should have stayed and heard what Justin had to say. As they say "alls well that ends well"! B&J are talking and that is good!! Thanks for reviewing!!!! Bill

I must admit I too am a bit put off by Justin and especially Alice deciding what to do with Joan without consulting Brian. Like another reviewer said, what if Alice convinced Brian to let Craig move in? It was Joan's decision not to have help and I bet she'd change her mind when she keeps landing in the hospital. And Alice is still telling Brian he's wrong about his feelings for his own mother. Poor Brian.
Author's Response: You are on the Alice butinski team. I am very fascinated by the differing opinions. I don't recall another chapter where the reviews are so mixed on what happened. Great stuff!!!! To me the real villain is failure to commnicate and that was happening from both Brian & Justin. I don't think Brian would have been as upset if he understood what led up to Joan being in the pool house. I think Alice was correct in saying Brian always says he doesn't care at all about Joan but than he steps in on occasion to help her. I think it would be hard to completely disown your mother. I remember in one episode of the TV show that Joan showed up at the loft with Brian's favorite cake that she baked for his birthday. They have a VERY complicated relationship. Thanks for sharing your point of view!!!!!!!!!! Bill

You handled this very well. Only Alice could do and say those things and get away with it. I wouldn't want her turning in her resignation either. All those great meals! Love how Peter and John did their best to cheer Justin up and didn't make any stupid jokes. Then we find out there is going to be a little boy and girl in the Taylor-Kinney household. The boys outnumber girls though. Names, we need to learn their names.
Author's Response: My friend, you know I neer consider a chapter complete until I read your review!!! You are on the pro Alice team, not a universally approved position. I wasn't sure about the resignation threat, it kind of came and went and then stayed as part of the story. Glad you enjoyed the concerned nephews. I think they were worrid about being part of another broken home. I think thier daughter os going to be the princess or queen of the household. Jennifer will go ballistic with a granddaughter at last! You know I appreciate all your support for my story. Thanks for the review, you know I love to get them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

What a happy day with a new chapter!
I´m so happy to have our couple re-united!
Let me say I wasn´t quite happy with Alice´s idea hosting Joan, even for a short period of time. Brian is kind of traumatized by his mother´s behaviour - I think that Alice overstepped her limits and Justin was kind of too well-meaning. I understand everybody and even Brian! It´s just too much beeing that close to his so-called mother!
But (big, fat but)we had some drama-time in the family - it´s just realistic! And they are taking the next step with two babies on the way....it´s going to be more than alright. I just hope the story will continue till their college-degree!!!!! Hahahaha, lol
Author's Response: Al;ways glad to see a review from you my friend. I think we are all glad that B&J are talking and hugging and kissing again!!! You are on the Alice is a butinski team. The reviews for this chapter are some of my favorites because they are so diverse. I agree that there always has to be some drama time or things (& life) would be too boring. I am happy to know you are still reading and enjoying the story. Thanks for taking time to review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

I'm so glad to see that Brian didn't return to his old tricks of pain management. Obviously they still need to talk, but at least they got to share the experience of seeing their son and daughter together for the first time...
Hugs ~ Kathleen
Author's Response: I didn't speciifcally say it but I think there was some Beam consumed at the loft. I kind of thought of Brian like a bear going back in his cave where he felt safe. I think it was important fro them to share the sonogram moment. That is an opportunity that would never come again. Glad to know you are still enjoying the story. Thanks for the review!!!!!! Waiting for more storues from you!!! Hugs back to you, Bill

WOOHOO after I switched my original idea of 2 girls to one of each I just had a feeling that's where you would go.
I get why Brian felt betrayed but I also get why he left rather then have a screaming fight with Justin. Brian refuses to be like his parents in every way he can and I think he felt leaving was far better than having a screaming fight. Justin on the other wants to talk everything out obviously. I know why Justin waited since he felt Brian was on an important business trip but at least when he gets home from it and Brian did not give him the chance.
i am glad Alice and Jennifer intervened I think Brian would have skipped the sonogram otherwise and that might have been almost unrepairable damage to their relationship.
i hope Joan is there no more than a couple of weeks and then they ship her back home if she is around for Christmas she will ruin that. I also really do not want her to have anything to do with Gus and if she is there to long that could happen.
so glad you did not leave us hanging forever on this update. I can't wait for more especially Brian and Justin's conversation which should maybe happen at the loft away from everyone else.
Boy and Girl babies now they will need to decorate 2 rooms oh the fun Justin will have and I really can't wait for their names somehow I don't see trendy or same initial names.
Author's Response: MY friend, always happy to read your comments. The twins were always going to be one of each so I think this time I got in your mind and changed your expectations. I think there is more to how Brian felt than Joan just being there. He was unsure how it happened. Whe he left things were settled with Joan's care. I think the "betrayal" came from his fears that Justin put someone else's wishes above Brian's. You are on the pro Alice team. Very interesting to me that not everyone agrees. I belive you are correct Joan needs to leave as soon as possible and I am still thinking about how the Gus-Joan situation will play out.
Thanks, as always, for your support. I stayed up past my bedtim last night so I could get this chapter posted before you got too annoyed about waiting. You know I love revirews!!!! Bill

I don't like the way Alice is putting her nose in B&J business and how she makes Brian the bad guy. Who does she think she is ?
Justin may had the best intentions but he has no rights. Brian was never shy about his need to be far away from Joan. I can't imagine Brian (or Melanie) wanting Joan near Gus. If she's there, Gus won't be and I want more of Gus and Kevin friendship at Britin.
What if Brian did the same with Craig ? It's Justin who brought Joan. Well, let him deal with her and let Brian not having any interaction with her. Justin is hurt because Brian used the word "betrayed" but it's what he did. Bringing Joan home wasn't in Brian's interest. I really want for Brian to tell Justin he wants Joan out and Justin has to tell her. Justin has to fix what he did.
Author's Response: I always enjoy hearing from the readers. The reviews for this chapter are particularly interesting because there is a big variety of opinions on Joan coming to stay, Justin acting without telling Brian and Alice's role in the whole situation. I find it kind of fascinatiing. Thanks for taking time to leave comments, I appreciate your point of view. I am pretty pro Alice so the variety of viewpoints are great to see. I agree 100% that JUstin should have told Brian what was going on. I think B&J have a history of getting into trouble when they are not honest and try to "protect" the other person. I'm not sure of Brian's final decision on Joan but if he wants her gone I agree Justin has to tell her.
Thank you very much for you review!!!!! I love to get them!!! Bill

Sorrry I,m behind, but I've been a little under the weather, along with a short tay in the hospital.
Wow, this is going to be one heck of a time for Brian and Justin, with Joan.
Just hope the boys can pull it together and save what they have esp. with little ones on the way.
Fantastic as ever, looking forward to next, you kind of left us with are mouths hanging open and saying " no, no"
Thanks for sharing!
Always,
JoAnn
Author's Response: Hi JoAnn, sorry to hear you haven't been well. Hospital stays YUCK!!!!!! I've had a couple of those and I did NOT enjoy them. Hope you are feeling better!!! I think B&J just have to get together and be honest with each other. They always get into trouble when they try to "protect" the other person by withholding info. Justin didn't tell Brian about arguing with Joan at lunch and he gets home from his business trip and JOan is living with them!! Thanks for takking time to review I always love reading your comments!!! Stay well!!!!! Bill

Hi,
That was an intense chapter. I am still bothered by the way
Claire is being treated. I just can’t see how the boys will visit Joan
but not Claire. There were a few comments which tried to explain
it, but I just don’t see it. Yes, there were calls and emails with
Claire, and since she refuses to ‘own-up’ to her failures the boys are keeping their distance. Has not Joan done exactly the same
thing. Joan is only their grandmother, while Claire is their
mother. So it’s mother vs. grandmother, and to me Claire is more important. Maybe that is the answer, a mother is more difficult
to forgive. Maybe?
Each time either Justin or Brian does something important,
trying to protect the other without telling the other that always
becomes a problem. I don’t know if Brian feels betrayed because
he feels Justin and Joan conspires against him. Justin meant well.
Betrayal is a strong word. To me it is more that Britin is Brian’s
castle, his refuge, and Justin bringing Joan there destroys that. It
is all explainable, and it sure will be interesting how all this plays out. There sure is a lot of explaining to do.
Once again, thanks for the chapter and the story. Things
certainly have gotten complicated.
DavidR
Author's Response: Hello my friend, I was womdering why I hadn't heard from you. Happy to know you are stlll reading the story. I belive John & Peter think their Mother actually harmed them by ignoring their needs and moving them in with Paul Joan wasn't exactly a model grandmother but she never actually did them any harm. She didn't take them in to her home but they didn't want to be there either. Claure actually choose her drug dealer wishes over Peter safety and the brothers want an apology. They haven't cut her off completely. Claire knows her sons want her to accept responsibility for what she did and an apology, so far she hasn't done either.
I agree B&J trying to protect the other by withholding information usually turns out to be a big problem. Justin didn't want to talk about lunch at Joan's so Brian could think plans were made there to have her move in while he was out of town. Brian doesn't even know that Joan reinjured herself fired her in home helpers. Complicated makes for a better story!!! Thanks, as always, for your support. You always bring up interesting points and give me food for thought. I appreciate it!!! Bill

Going in reverse here........Holy Shitballs! Seriously?! You leave us like that??
Justin is obviously going to be in shock, then heartbroken, and perhaps even abit.....furious!! I mean, Brian should know better than that. I do get the impression that Alice is once again going to intervene with her 2 cents worth. Just like when she told off Brian about the guests in their house. she'll probably let him know "what's what". That's just my guess though. I just hope Joan doesn't find out. I see her getting all "happy happy joy joy" about it. If that happens, if she does, she'll have lost what little footing she's gained with everyone.
Speaking of Joan.....wondering if Alice's little speech had anything to to with her slight reversal of attitude. I don't thinks she's manipulative enought to have the forethought to cause problems between B&J. She may be a cold bitch from hell, but at least she's up front and honest about it. :) It'd be nice though if she can get over those harsh feelings and start seeing life for what it really can give her. I do think interacting wioth the boys will be good for her. Not sure about Gus. That may take awhile. Nobody is going to trust her around him for quite some time I don't think.
All in all......another brilliant chapter. end of the chapter gutted me, but.....makes it all the more exciting to get the next installment. Gotta have some angst thrown in here and there between B&J.
Thanks!! Definitely looking forward to the next one. I hope B gets his head out his ass quickly!! Either through Alice or on his own. (honestly, I have so many possibilittes running about in my head.....I'm a wee bit nervous)
Cheers,
Elaine
Author's Response: Hi Elaine, you are my faithful Monday reviewer. I wasn't sure if the holiday might delay you but maybe you don't live in the USA?? I think Justin will try to act like things are okay for Alice, John & Peter's sake. Alice is really to blame for this situation since it was her idea for Joan ro move into the pool house. Maybe she will take some role in getting B&J back on speaking terms. I think Joan is intimidated by Alice - a lot of people are, rmeber when the sheriff deputies came to visit? I am really glad that you enjpyed the chapter. Alwaus makes my day to see your comments!!!! Thanks for the review!! Bill

My dear, dear Sweet Baboo PLEASE don't let Brian go to mikey and tell of Justins ''betrayel'' That little smug asshole will tell everyone he knows, maybe Cynthia or Ted can calm Brian down and let him think clearly and don't let him trick he knows the best sex ever has always been Justin. Maybe the terrific duo of Alice and Jennifer can ease Brian's mind. You are worrying your Sally, not nice.
Author's Response: Sally, you know that expression "into eah life a little rain must fall" well B&J are having a thunderstorm right now, hopefully it doesn't turn into a hurricane named Mikey. We will have to wait and see what a "betrayed" Brian might do. I will try and update soon! sweet B

Sweet Baboo, It's kinda weird Joan thanking Alice and liking the food, I hope it's sincere. Maybe it struck a nerve about dying alone in her house and no one knowing.Alice maybe the type of friend who can help her. I know the boys are shocked about her acting happy and a small smile. Brian really surprised me by feeling betrayed by Justin. He should know that to Justin he's the most important person in his life. Maybe he's worrying that it's permanet and how it will effect Gus,John,Peter, and even the twins, he needs to know it was Alice's idea. Brian always mans up and he's wrong to blame Justin. I think he cares about his mother but just can't face being hurt again only this time on a daily basis. Your cliffhangers drive me crazy! Your Sally
Author's Response: My Darling Sally, I always think of Joan as kind of a bully. People with strong personalities intimidate her. Alice has a STRONG personality. She told Justin to leave her house but when he refused she just ignored him. And maybe old Joanie is a little lonely. Had to be a rough experience to be trapped in her bathtub for a couple days. Rememeber that Brian has no idea what happened at lunch. Justin said he didn't want to talk about it. Brian might feel that this Joan invasion might have been planned while Jusin, John & Peter visited Joan. I think it is a hard thing to not care baout your mother. We will have to wait and see when or if Brian returns fro an explaination. Always enjoy hearng from you!!! your sweet Baboo

Hi, Bill! First of all, congrats on getting your 200th review!:)
As for the story, wow, just when I think Joan can't be any more obstinate and unreasonable, you prove me wrong - ha! But perhaps they have finally arrived at an equitable solution (hopefully). Alice is quickly becoming a favorite character of mine. Love that woman!
But, boy, that cliffhanger! Bad Bill - LOL! Something tells me that Brian will be eating crow in the near future (not sure if that is low-carb or not).
As always, a great and enjoyable read. And don't worry; I love angst, and I know you will leave these two in a happier place in the future. Thanks for the update! ~Kim
Author's Response: Hello my friend, thanks for the congrats on 200 reviews. You know how much I LOVE reviews!!! Even though I tell myself it is egotisical and shallow of me to be so focused on reviews I can't help myself. I console myself by saying there are worse things to be addicted to. Joan is focused on things being her way for sure. I think Alice can even keep Joanie behaving. It seems to me that you have left us hanging in your stories more than once. A little suffering is good for the soul. Our stories have that in common, it all comes out happy in the end!! Thanks as always for being such a support to me. Anyone who enjoys my stories really owes it to your inspiration and mentoring. Thanks for the review!!!!!! Bill

Oh, no. I thought something like this might happen from the instant that Justin decided to not tell Brian about Joan because of the business trip. Even with the best of intentions, keeping truth from Brian isn't a good idea. Joan is so conniving. Now that she is there,I think she is delighted to be at the house so that she can interfere and cause trouble whenever and wherever possible. I do think Alice can handle her, but I doubt she is going to be able to change Joan's attitude. Not so sure it is a good thing to have Joan around her grandsons so much. Joan is such a toxic person. I am hoping that Brian drives a short distance, calms down, and gives Justin a chance to explain. Given what he said about feeling betrayed, having Joan in his house must be the worst for Brian. Joan allowed Brian to be abused and has been horrible to him all of his life...can't really blame him for his immediate reaction. Guess Justin may feel a little betrayed now, too, since he was trying to spare Brian's feelings, not hurt him. Not being given a chance to explain anything and to have Brian jump to conclusions must hurt Justin almost as much. What a mess. Fix this, please! I do not like B&J in the midst of this kind of angst. As always, am loving the story. Thanks!
Author's Response: I think it is kind of a pattern with B&J of trying to protect the other person by not telling them something. It usually comes back and bites them in the butt eventually and not in a good life affirming way. I think Alice will quickly shut down any trouble Joan might try to cause. If she needs reinforcements Jennifer is in reserve. Brian may still his fantasy of Alice & Jennifer beating up Joan in the backyard come true. I think you are right there are hard feelings on both side now. We'll have to wait and see how things turn out. It was Alice's idea to have Joan stay in the pool house so she may have to help B&J get over this little hump in the road. Thank you so much for letting me know you are still enjoying the story. I love to hear from the readers so I value each review!!!!!!!!! Bill

Justin is one feisty man, and Brian is as stubborn as Joan. Hopefully a drive in the country will help Brian relax and accept Joan's brief stay at Britin... Or will this become more of a permanent situation? Hugs ~ Kathleen
Author's Response: Justin is always ready to step up to defend Brian. Of cousre Brian doesn't kone what Justin said to Joan. All Brian knows is he went out of town and came home to Joan staying in their house. We'll habe to wait and see how this works out. Hugs back to my you!!! Bill

Love, love, love how Justin tells Joanie home truths. Alice can talk me into anything anytime, so why not Joan. Leaving us with a cliffy wasn't nice, but I know you'll fix it with your next chapter. A very interesting chapter.
Author's Response: I think Justin gave Joanie a lot for food for thought but not sure it made any difference to her. Alice may have to talk Brian in to coming back home. So you don't think "Justin Taylor, single Dad" would make a good sequel???? Thanks, my friend, for being such a faithful reviewer. I appreciate it!!!! Bill

Hi Bill : ) I can see having Joan at the pool house would be beneficial for her in the long run, she’s already proven that she’s too headstrong and stubborn to do what’s best for her recovery. LOL, love the way Justin puts her in her place. I wish Brian had waited for Justin to explain why she’s there instead of running off like that though, but we know where he gets his stubbornness from - Ha. Looking forward to the next chapter : ) *Hugs* Janet
Author's Response: Hi Janet, thanks for psoting a review!!!! Brian gets his stubborness and his annoyed facial expression from Joan. You just can get away from genetics. Justin did defend Brian and point out all Joan's failings but he didn't tell Brian. All Brian sees is JOan now under his roof. Glad to know you enjoyed this chapter. Hope all is good with you. Hugs back, Bill

So first I have to admit I like being mentioned before the chapter even starts made me happy even before I started to read.
i asked for drama I guess you gave me some. I have to admit I do agree with Brian bringing Joan to their house is a huge mistake. I get how Brian feels betrayed but I also get how Justin would feel he had no choice.
I liked the lunch at Joan's for no other reason than letting Justin tell Joan how great Brian was to him when he was hurt even thou I am not sure she heard him. I liked how she thought Alice cooked when it was really John and Justin.
I am going to worry about Justin until you update notice I did not say Brian because by not even saying anything and just leaving he he hurt Justin more than an I am sorry will repair. If Brian goes to Michael over this they are done babies or no babies.
Cant wait for the update
Author's Response: I believe in giving credit where credit is due. There are always two sides to every story. It is unfortunate that Brian left before hearing any reasons why Joan was there. Maybe he thinks this was all worked out at the lunch Justin didn't want to discuss. Brian would feel pretty bad if he thought Joan and Justin were conspiring together. Justin let Joan have it with both barrels but will Brian ever find that out???? Stay tuned. Nor errors to report in this chapter?? Always a pleasure to ready your comments. Thanks for your support!!!!!!! Bill

Well, Joan is one difficult woman - so glad I don't have to deal with her. Alice will be excellent with her - her no nonsense attitude won't put up with Joan's attitude. It's obvious where Brian gets his 'high drama' behaviour from....LOL. Poor Justin - not only has he to deal with Joan but now Brian. Brian had better wake up to the fact Justin must have an excellent reason for doing this and he should make the time to find out why or getting back into Justin's good graces might take a while....
Author's Response: Joan is not an easy person to like. Alice will have no trouble handling Joan. If Brian feels betrayed there is no telling what he will do. Hope he doesn't do something he regrets like go tricking at Babylon. Glad to know you enjoyed this chapter. Thanks for psoting a review!!!!!! Bill

Oh dear. Impulsive Brian strikes again. Interesting that Joan seems to be liking the pool house situation. Alice is one cool housekeeper and friend. I loved it when Justin told Joan off. Brian gets a get out of jail free card even though he didn't let Justin explain before storming out, due to the fact that he had to live with Joan for so many years. She is quite the battle axe.
Author's Response: I think the shock of Joan being under his roof was too much for Brian to absorb. Alice is kind of the villain since it was her idea for Joan to sta in the pool house. Justin didn't leave Joan in any doubt about how he felt about her. Thanks fort aking time to review!!!!!! Bill

My heart sunk - poor Justin, caught between a rock and a hard place. Brian's reaction was sadly predictable but I must admit I had hoped he would surpise Justin by being more willing to listen to the reasons behind this unwelcome turn of events:-(

Huh. Who knew? Joan's actually capable of being happy (kinda sorta) now that she's in Brian and Justin's pool house. Did she just want to feel that her son really was taking care of her, by having her nearby, without infringing too much on her independence and privacy?
Oh, Brian. I know you had a horrendous childhood and that Joan was/is a lousy excuse for a mother. However, Justin would never betray you. He was helping you by handling the situation with your mom as best he could, trying to ensure you wouldn't be further devasted by harm Joan might do to herself without a caregiver.
I hope once Brian calms down a bit and stops to think that he'll realize how lucky he is to have Justin and that he needs to return home. I am rather concerned for Brian and Justin--and their family. That speaks to how deeply you've drawn me into your amazing story.
Author's Response: Hrad to say exactly what is in Joan's mind. We probably don't want to reallu understand Joan's thinking. Brian got a nast surprise finding out Joan was living under his rook without any explaination. Joan is a real hot button from Brian. He might think this was all worked out at the lunch Justin didn't want to talk about. We'll have to wait and see what happens. Thanks for the review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Sorry my dear sweet baboo, I forgot to mention the lovely scene with Kevin and Gus spending the night with Brian and Justin. They are the sweetest charactors I've ever read about. I felt bad about the little accident Kevin had but no one reacted badley, Patrick was upset but talked with Justin out of ear shot of Kevin, the boys loved the finger-painting Justin has such patience with both boys and Brian showers the boys with love and tenderness, no wonder that Kevin feels like he is a cousin. The boys are so ex-cited about the twins, they can't wait and neither can I. Your Sally
Author's Response: My wonderful Sally, NEVER apologize for double reviews!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE all reviews, it is extremely shallow of me to get a serious thrill from how many revews I get. I should probably join some "Reviewer Anonymus" group and do a 12 step to get over my reviews obsession. I do enjoy writing about Gus & Kevin. I am really happy about how many people seem to enjoy them as well. I hope it shows that kids are kids despite whatever issues they have to deal with. I also like how accepting Gus is and how much he enjoys spending time with Kevin. Growing up I one of our neighbors often used to babysit a friend's Down's syndrone son. I remember the neighbor telling my Mom that her frieds had trouble finding people willing to babysit their son. We will learn the sex of the twins soon. Hello my Sweet Baboo, I enjoyed this chapter a great deal. mikey was being a jerk as usual. It's bad enough Ben was worried about his paying for his medicine but checks began to bounce because the asshole cleared the account, I hope Ben used his head and when he transferred money from his retirement account that it was in his name only, mikey has proved he can't be trusted. After tearing him a new one and saying that mikey should get a job with a regular salery and pay back what he took mikey its still trying to believe Ben will lower his demands. Asshole. As for Joan no surprise here she won't partisipate with others at the church day care, she was upset that her house was cleaned, but admitted to herself she was lonely, she missed her grandsons even Claire. She doesn't want Justin or Brian's intrusion, maybe when he brings the boys and a nice lunch she will realize the family she rejects are the only contact she has with others. Love, your Sally
Author's Response: Darling Sally, you must be another mobile reader. I think Ben really got his eyes opened to how immature Mikey really is. I'm pretty sure Mikey will be disappointed in thinking Ben will back down. I think lunch wil be interesting and there is some more Joan drama coming. Always make me so happy to see comments from you Sally!!!!!!! Thanks for the review!!!!! your sweet B.

Brilliant update!
Mikey has such simple mind, to think Ben will forgive and forget what he did.
Kevin and Gus are such a pleasure to read. Gus is so loving and caring.
Looking forward to see what the twins sex is.
Justin and the nephews are going to have an interesting time with Joanie.
Cont. to love this verse and fic. Thanks for sharing.
JoAnn
Author's Response: Hi JoAnn, I am going to guess and say you are a Monile reader. I'm pretty sure Mikey is wromg about Ben changing his mind about the conditions for staying together. I love Gus & Kevin's relationship, which makes sense since I created it. Would be sad if I didn't like it. You didn't state your preference for the twin's sexes, that isn't written yet. It might be possible to influence me!! I agree that the visit with Joanie will be interesting. Thanks for the nice comments!!!!! Always glad to read your reviews!!!!!!!!!! Thanks, Bill

Thanks for another entertaining chapter!
I love the Christmas present Justin helped Gus and Kevin prepare for Grandma Jen. She's going to be ecstatic. <3
I wonder how Justin's visit to Joan with John and Peter will go. She does miss her grandsons, but since it's Joan, there's plenty of room for disaster.
I hope Ben sticks to his edicts for Michael, who needs someone to take charge and tell him what to do
Author's Response: Happy you were entertained by this chapter!!! I believe Grandmom Jen is going to have a great Christmas. You are correct who knows how a visit with Joan will turn out. I do think Joan is feeling a little lonely. Claire was annoying but probably took up a bunch of her mother's time. I think Ben is going to be firm, he knows that is best for himself and Michael. Thanks for another terrific chapter. A lot was revealed about
Michael. For me, the most interesting remark was when Ben finally
understood that not only did Michael not support the household, and
didn’t financially support his daughter not because he couldn’t, no no
no. He didn’t because “Michael felt no obligation to contribute.” How
is that possible? Though only implied, is a gambling aspect to
Michael’s actions. Buy ‘something’ with the expectation of selling it at
a higher price. The thrill or bidding and selling on the Internet. That is
complicated by his need to 'collect'. Finally, I have to wonder, thought
Ben seems really upset at Michael being so very irresponsible, it is
that the irresponsibility and dependency Ben finds so attractive about
Michael. Maybe? I wonder what is in store for Michael. The future
does not look good.
Once again, thanks for the chapter and thanks for the story.
DavidR
Author's Response: Happy to know you are still enjoying the story. I always enjoy redng your comments!!!! I think Michael liked "being taken care of" and Ben liked "taking care of him". They are kind of co-dependant, each getting what they wanted out of the relationship but not really having a healthy relationship. The problem came when Michael started dipping into the household money. Ben was happy if Michael played at the comic book store and supported his own playtime but not interested in paying for Michael's playtime. I like your idea of equating the collectable buying to gambling. I hadm't thought of that but it is similar, trying to get rich without a lot of work. You are correct that Mikey getting a real job and making his own living may change their relationship but maybe it will get better??? Maybe not!!! You'll just have to keep reading to see what happens. Thanks for the review, you know I LOVE reviews!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Hi, Bill! Had a few minutes to get caught up. I'm glad Ben laid the law down, so to speak, with Michael. Now let's see if he really follows through. I have my doubts.
And I can just imagine Joan in my mind's eye with those 'helpers,' and the daycare - ha! That was so IC for her. What a piece of work!
I continue to really like all the small details you put into this story - even down to what their menu is. Thank you for posting this very entertaining sequel to your other story on here, Bill; it is deeply appreciated. ~Kim
Author's Response: Hi Kim, always glad to hear from you. I don't think Ben will back down but will Mikey step up and grow up that is the big question. More Joan drama to come, those "helpers" are not going to work out. Thanks for taking tiem to review!!!! Bill

So first question of the day how did Gus disappear with the O'Brien boys how come he did not go out to dinner with Brian and Justin.
Then I guess I have to mention Michael so glad Ben finally called him on all his shit I hope Ben gets something from the sales to pay back the money he stole but I am doubtful.
Joan ugg you filled this chapter with the icky people. Is it wrong to hope the alcohol causes more issues ok it's wrong but I don't like her and want someone to go through the house and throw out all the vodka.
i like how Brian and Justin handle Kevin's issues they figure out what he can do and work with that it seems like his family and probably most people who work with Kevin just do it for him rather than letting him see there is so much he can do for himself. The now man I take care of (17 plus years severe autism) is coddled by his parents and most caregivers like that luckily some of his caregivers know what he is capable of and make him do somethings for himself.
i like how John and Peter are learning to go with the flow of where they live talking about school helping with dinner knowing when to make themselves scarce they know they are home I like it.
Baby time one of each please
Justin's show in New York I almost feel like there should be some drama there this story has been to calm for Brian and Justin
Author's Response: Okay, I'm going to say that Gus went to dinner with the everyone else but I just didn't mention him by name. That's night not be strictly true but that is my story and I'm sticking with it! I think Ben will get some of his money back frm the sale of the comic book store contents but not $6,000. He will need to get the rest of the money from Mikey's paychecks at his new job. Where do you suppose MIkey might get a job?????? Who might his mother beg to give him a job???? I think when people really love someone it is sometimes hard to push them to expand their limits, they want to protect them and take care of them. Like you I have seen it happen. It happens for noble motives but it happens. I think B&J try their best to treat Kevin the same way they treat Gus. That might get more difficult as Gus gets older. Kevin helping with the babies may help his self esteem. Might be a little angst in the next chapter. I agree that we need a little drama, I have been thinking about that, you are in mind again. Thanks my friend for your comments, they always make me think!!!!! Bill

Another great chapter.
Michael will never grow up, he thinks someone else shoud always take care of him.
Joan needs someone to tell her that she's not as sly as she thinks with the booze.
Loving Brian and Justin as wonderful parents.
~Lorie
Author's Response: Michael had always had someone who allowed him to not be a grownup. Firdt his Mom, then David and now Ben. I think Ben has reached the end of his patience. More Joan drama coming soon. B&J are very domestic these days. They don't have enough kids of their own so now they are babysitting as well. Glad you are still enjoying the story!!!!! Hey there. I can't seem to sign in for some reason since the roll over to .net. Not sure why not. Oh well.
Did my usual happy dance seeing the update!! Fantfriggintastic chapter!
Am starting to wonder if Joan wil begin to thaw a bit. If she finally realizes her lonliness is due to her own actions, her own judgments. Hopefully the care she's receiving will eventually get her to stop drinking, and she'll have even a small epiphany, without the haze of alcohol. Perhaps the boys will eventually be able to show her how truly happy they are and she'll appreciate what B&J have done for then rather than be in fear of what they'll do to them. Or...........she'll just remain the heinous bitch she is. ;)
And then there's Micheal. to say he's in trouble is an understatement! YIKES! He brought it all upon himself though. Really glad to see that Ben has come to the realization that he also was an enabler to Micheal's way of thinking. Hopfully this will be a turn around for them, but for some reason..........I just don't see it. LOL. I think Micheal will always be a snivelling little whiny bitch whio will always need his ass wiped for him rather than do it himself.
Excellent update!! wonderful interactions with all the kids! Everyone encouraging Kevin is terrific. He's come so far!! It's a part of this story that I'm loving so very much!
thanks again!!
Cheers,
Elaine

A true Norman Rockwell moment with the Kinney family at home.
I'm mostly done with the website stuff except waiting for our turn with GoDaddy to make the final switch of our mobile site to .net when our turn comes around. Imagine a dozen patients in an O.R. waiting in turn for the surgery teams to perform on them and you get an idea of were we are in that process. I might have a hoop or two to jump through to make it all work well, but can't say for sure until they get their work done, first.
Bill, don't try to answer all reviews and smiles. Just wanted to add to your count and let this way be how I show my appreciation for you publishing on Whispers. Rapidly we're getting our audience size back and it will be very strong again once the mobile site is once again working.

There is so much good stuff here I almost don't know where to start. You have to feel sorry for Ben, he works hard and has medical problems and to find out that their checking account is overdrawn is a pain. Frankly I thought he was too easy on Mikey. He should withdraw his name from the account until which time as he contributes to the account. Joanie is really a pain. You'd think she'd be happy she didn't have to cook, but oh no. All she does is complain. Can't wait to read about how the visit from John, Peter and Justin goes. John and Peter have settled nicely into the family and help out with Gus. It was nice to see Kevin and Patrick visiting. Gus really makes use of Kevin to be sure they get their pancakes. lol. Love the special gift you had them make for Grandma Jen. It was perfect. We got to see Daphne and of course you've made me hungry with all the great meals they've had. No fair. Finally we have Justin's art show in New York and a visit to the doctor with Eden to look forward to in the next chapter!
Author's Response: Hello my friend, always makes me happy to see your review. I think Ben realizes that he may be part of te problem and wants to be sure he is part of the solution. He has been an enabler who ket Mikey drift along without accepting adult responsibilities. Joan truly is a big pain and will continue to be one!! Gus is his father's son as Justin points out. Grandmom Jen is going to have avery Merry Christmas!!! Lots to look forward to. Thanks for all your support!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Glad Joan got assigned to someone who won't take her bull.
Sadly, it dosn't sound like Mikey learned anything. He's still buying toys?! And it sounds like he's just playing along to bide time until Ben lets his guard down. "He hoped that things would settle down and Ben would relax some of his demands." Seriously? At least Ben is starting to open his eyes that Mikey is not an equal. He's still Deb's little boy. A husband shouldn't have to make rules for his spouse.
Author's Response: I don't think the Joan situation is settled yet. Mikey may hope that Ben relaxes his demands but I'm not thinking that will happen any time soon. It may be time for Mikey to grow up a little. Glad you enjoyed the chapter, thanks for the review!!!!! Bill

Michael&Ben: A much neeeded thunder and lightning, a wake up call for Michael. I hope things will work out. I always loved Ben and couldn´t quite see them as a couple of equals.
Joan, ever the charming person! The social assistent with "don´t bullshit me" attitude - that´s some beginning. Will Joan get her 8.chance out of life?
J&B´s home: Nice to have some timeline-hint (6 months), they are settled as a family, the baby girls may come!
Thanks for writing -I´m enjoying every single chapter even though I´m not reviewing. I know, this is not fair, but I keep struggling with RL...Please always feel silently appreciated!
Author's Response: Always happy to hear from you. Looks like Michael is going to have to grow up and be a real partner in his relationship with Ben. More Joan drama to come. I haven’t had the use of a PC for a while now. I go all the way back to Claire. There seems to be a total write off of her, and her needs. In this chapter, B & J have made
very careful arrangements for Joan’s care. We even hear that John and Peter, after a short time, intend to visit Joan. What about their mother? I am not trying excuse Claire, but she is just as much as their mother, as Joan is to Brian.
Michael is probably not poor. Collectors may not have cash. but they certainly can raise
cash by selling off their collectables. When Brian refused to give him money, just look how easily Michael was able to sell some of his “stuff” and raise enough money to pay
his rent. How much more “stuff” does Michael have that he can sell? That is where all his money is.
Thanks for these last 4 or 5 chapters. The story rolls along just fine. As a compliment to you, I did not miss reading any chapters. I found a way.
DavidR
Author's Response: Glad to read your comments, I have missed hearing from you. Glad you were able to stay up to date on the story. So many things I loved about this chapter, Bill. My favorite line in this chapter, BTW, was:
“I said he was important to me Mother. I never said he wasn’t annoying at times!” LOL!
Love how supportive B and J are to each other, and how attuned they are to their desires and feelings. As for Michael...ugh. He just doesn't have a clue, does he? I wouldn't have put it past him to have planned the robbery, or had made it up if not for you telling us otherwise! What a shame he didn't think of doing that - ha!
And you had Joan's character down perfectly in this part. Prissy, annoying, and in denial. Just the way we love her - ha!
As always, Bill, thoroughly entertained by your story, and will be looking forward to the next installment. ~Kim
Author's Response: Thanks for the review!! I could imagine Brian's face as he said that line to Joan. I siled as I wrote it. I like a Brian and Justin who aren't afraid to be honest with each other. Once Ben finds out what Mikey has done there is going to be some serious consequences. I think Joan knows if not for Brian she would be in way more trouble but she hates that she has to accept his help. Thanks for the kind words, I am always so flattered by your nice comments. I truly appreciate all your support over the years. Imagine that I have been posting on MW for years!! Bill

Thanks for another wonderful chapter!
LOL, Brian and Joan's mutual horror at hearing from Justin that the annoyed expression of one mirrors the other's. That entertained Deb and Jen, too. ;)
It's so heartwarming how Justin and Brian always take care of and look out for each other, not only in regard to the PTSD from Justin's bashing but in every other regard. <3
I wonder if Joan will respond positively to the opportunity presented by John and Peter. If not, Justin and Brian will make sure Joan does as little damage as possible to them emotionally. John and Peter will always have a loving home with their uncles and the rest of the family.
Sounds like Michael's going through a rude awakening about his comic book business. I wonder when it will sink in that he'll soon no longer have a business at all. I can just imagine how upset Ben will be about Michael's poor decisions and decimation of their bank account.
Grandmom Jen will absolutely be as pleased by a jewelry box crafted by Greg, Patrick, and Kevin as by the sparkling contents. She's everything a mother and grandmother should be.
Author's Response: Happy you enjoyed this chapter. I could imagine Brian & Joan's faces as I wrote that part of the story and it made me smile. B&J are a close knit team. Something tells me Joan is NOT going to react positively to her situation. I think some more trouble might be coming from that sector. Michael is due for a HUGE rude awakenng when Ben find out what has been going on. I agree that Grandmom Jen will have a very Merry Christmas when she sees her Christmas presents. Thanks for the review I always enjoy reading your comments!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Yay. Weekend reading. Happy girl again.
You know, a teensy weensy part of me almost wants to feel sorry for Micheal. Not so much for what he's going through, but because he's just so STUPID!! lol. I mean, one really should feel bad that someone is really capable of being just so oblivious to everything around then and so self involved. It cracked me up where he was so proud that he's going to be able to tell everyone that he managed his crisis on his own. DUDE!! Your like 35!! I should bloody well hope so! LOL!! Poor baby lost his toys. I have very little patince for people thqat have no common sense. A person doesn;t necessarily have to be book smart, but those without common sense....drives me inseane. Micheal in this....wow!! would send me over the edge! :)
Joan is in for an interesting time of it. My heart melted when John and Peter explained how thery were beginning to understand Joan more and that they wanted to visit etc. Those boys are amazing and I know that B&J had a major part of their vastly imporved attitude towards life and those in it. Amazing and very inpressive.
Exceelent chapter as per usual. Am always excited to have an update, particularly over the weekend when I can legitimately take the time to read rather than sneaking it in while at work. (I really don't mind that either. ;) )
cheers,
Elaine
Author's Response: Glad you enjoyed this chapter. I thought about having Mikey's precious action figures not being worth much when he went to sell them or just havng them stolen. Either way he is a loser. I know someone who used to say common sense wasn't very common, which is kind of true. I suspect Ben is NOT going to be very happy with his husband, Mikey may finally have to grow up some. John & Peter are good kids, kind of amazing since their mother is such a shit. Those Kinney genes do let people rise aboce their troubled lives if they get some encouragement. I think maybe Joan issues may be interesting for a bunch of people. Wow 4 chapters so fast I feel like I should pay you. I know not to expect that especially since one day soon it will get warm and your garden will again scream your name. One can dream even if one knows better.
I loved Justin noting the same expression on Joan and Brian's face it actually made me laugh. Loved protective Brian in the parking garage. I like how Peter and John know just how good they have it now but still wish their grandmother had some happiness in her life.
Michael Ugggg I am almost glad he got robbed sad that it will affect Ben but it seems like just what he deserves.
I love what they are getting for Jennifer for Christmas and I can't wait to see what everyone else gets.
Babies I can't wait to find out what sex the twins are still hoping for one of each.
thanks again for writing so much so fast I almost note the almost feel guilty for asking for more soon
Author's Response: You do pay me with all your reviews!!! I do want you to know that the weather here in the Pacific Northwest has been warmer than normal with lost of sunshine. So I want you to know that I have been working in the garden. I have had to mow my lawn 6 times already this year. Broke several records for high temps in April but I still got you your 4th story for April. It was by the skin of my teeth but it still posted in April!
I thought that little Brian & Joan have similarities and their reaction was pretty funny. I think Brian can help being protective Brian, he loves his Sunshine and wants him to be safe. Ben is not going to be very happy with his husband. Perhaps Mikey will finally start to grow up and accept adult reponsibilities. I bet Jennifer will love all her gifts too. I think we may find out the sex of the twins in the next chapter. Always happy to hear from you. You were my inspiration for getting this chapter polished up and posted yesterday. Well you did it. You made me feel sorry for Mikey. He was finally trying to do the right thing, even if was forced to do it. I hope he learned his lesson (even if it's only for this one thing) instead of blaming Brian because “it wouldn’t have happened if you just did your duty and loaned gave me money.” Can't wait to see the fallout with Ben. Maybe Brian can give Ben money for meds, but please don't have him bail out Mikey.
Author's Response: I know how you feel. I couldn't help feeling sorry for Mikey myself. This may present an opportunity for Mikey to put on his big boy pants and step up to do the right thing. Ben finding out about the withdrawal (and not for his husband) is coming in the next chapter. No one is bailing out Mikey anythime soon, he has burned too many bridges. I really feel sorry for Michael...in a way. He created his own problems but he was trying to make an effort to make it right. Hopefully the police can catch the thieves and he can finally tell Ben the truth about everything.
The boy's visit with Joan should prove to be very interesting. Maybe she can keep her ill thoughts to herself for once.
Author's Response: You are a nice person to feek sorry to Mikey. You seem to be in the minority there. Even I felt a little bad when I wrote about the robbery. Not much good news comng for Mikey in the nexy chapter but maybe a path to growing up and accepting adult reponsibility. My dear Sweet Baboo: Enjoyed this chapter quite alot. At last Brian told his mother how things were going to be and she agreed to his demands, that she did finally speak to Justin and even smiled when Brian said Justin was sometimes annoying. She may not like the caregivers and senior day care, but I think she was really frighten by her injury and no one to to help her for three days. I hope things go well, she really has no one. Karma has finally zapped mikeys ass and no one deserves it more, he has lost his toys and taken money without telling Ben--and basically no one cares what happens to him, he has called wolf to many times. I thought it was quiet generous that Justin is having Joan's house cleaned and that he sent flowers to her things move slow with Joan and Justin and that's a good thing. My sweet I loved this chapter and can't wait for an update. Love you, your Sally.
Author's Response: Darling Sally, always so happy to see your comments!!!! Joan didn't have a lot of options so she agreed. We'll have to wait and see how that works out. She had lots of time to think about her life spending all that time stuck in the tub. Michael is going to have to do some growing up. I think Ben is going to lay down some demands. It's good that Brian got Joanie sorted out. Sounds like the perfect solution. I like that John and Peter were concerned for her. Justin's going to be busy, finding out the sex of the babies, taking John and Peter to see their grandmother, and helping Brian. I seem to remember Mikey telling Brian he needed to grow up and not stay a club boy. Seems like Mikey should take his own advice. Poor Ben, I'm sure if Brian knew about his insurance problems he'd be more than willing to help Ben. I have to shake my head on Mikey thinking he thought of how to get the money on his own. I even feel a little sorry that he got robbed. He's not only lost the duplicates he was planning on selling but the originals too. Another blackhole for Mikey. So sweet of Kevin and Patrick to want to give a Christmas gift for Jen, I think a jewelry box is the perfect idea. As always a most enjoyable chapter.
Author's Response: Hellp my friend, always happy to see your review!!! I am not sure that Joanie will find the arrangements so "perfect". John & Peter understamd feeling alone in the world. Justin also has an art show coming up in NYC, so he will be a busy guy. I think Ben will expect Mikey to step up and take reponsibility for his mistakes. I'm sure Jennifer will enjoy all her Christmas gifts. Thanks, as always, for your review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Well now, Michael is in a 'shit load' of trouble. It's not good that someone stole from him but Karma can be such a bitch and he is about to suffer some serious karma. Can't wait to read the upcoming consequences of his quite childish and immature decisions. Not paying his rent is bad enough but not paying his business insurance just to buy his 'toys' is totally idiotic. He really is getting what he deserves. Ben, however doesn't deserve what's coming - hoping to see him lose his cool (even it's just a little bit) - it would do Michael good to realize everyone is not going to come to his rescue and he's going to have to pay for his bad decisions - or if they do help he should still be held accountable - it's well past time for him to grow up.
Jennifer is going to get such a lovely Christmas present - and Jennifer being Jennifer will recognize the love and care that will go into the carve jewellery box and definitely appreciate it.
Author's Response: I think Ben is going to have some demends for Mikey. May be time for him to grow up or face serious consequences. I think you are correct about Grandmom Jen loving her gift from Patrick & Kevin. I imagin she will like the jewelry too. Always good to hear from you. Thanks for the review. Bill

True they'll never have a mother/son relationship built on love, but something to ease the loneliness won't hurt. Justin will get Brian to understand. Michael tried. He really did. Ha! Hope Ben doesn't have to pay for his prescriptions out of their savings. If that happenes there May be no more Mikey and the Professor.
Author's Response: I think as much as Brian protests he can't help having some sympathy for Joan. His life is going great and her life is grim. I think Ben may not be too Zen when he finds out what Mikey did, stay tuned!! Thanks for the review, I appreciate all your support!!! Bill

I suspect Michael's woes aren't over--and they shouldn't be. Good for Deb for finally saying "no" to Michael and looking out for herself. I can't imagine Ben's going to be happy when he finds out why Michael needed to withdraw so much money from their account. If Michael's unwilling to sell any of his valuables, there's no way he'll be able to rent another storefront. He's seriously deluded if he thinks Brian (and Justin) are going to lend him money, much less give to him.
Good for Brian for making Marilu sweat. The parish may be revising their optinion of St. Joan if they have to put up with her all day, every day. It would serve them right.
I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Thanks again for this wonderful story.
Karynn, aka eureka1
Author's Response: I'm sure you are correct about Michael, more woes to come. I think Brian and Justin's generousity made her realize her son should be helping her not vice versa. Hard to predict how valuable Mikey's collectables are and how much is his wishful thinking. B&J have enough outlays of money they are not looking for more.Marilu got a good lesson in the world being round, what goes around, comes around. I think Brian was being sarcastic bout how Joan is viewed at Good Shepherd. Thanks Karynn for all the reviews, you know I love to read them. I am happy to know you are still enjoying the story!!!! Ugh, Michael. No progress there. Everything's all about Mikey and his skewed perceptions. How Ben puts up with him, I'll never know.
I do hope Lindsay truly wants to make an effort with the murals as well as to reconnect with Justin. Like Brian, I'm skeptical. But, maybe, she's benefitting from therapy and making progress.
I feel for Brian, having to take care of his witch of a mother. Thank goodness he has Justin to help ease the burden.
Author's Response: Mikey's world has a very different reality from the world most of us dwell in. Ben may have had enough of Mikey soon. Lindsay is a mystery that we will have to solve in future chapters. Justin wants to give her a chance to trun her behavior around. Sadly there is no one else to deal with Joan but Justin always has Brian's back. Thanks for your support!! Bill

Thank you for this heartwarming Thanksgiving chapter! With their announcement of twins, Brian and Justin added even more cause for celebration.
I love how Brian and Justin, followed by Jen, did their best to make Gus, Peter, John--and Kevin--know that they would be loved just as much as before, that the twins would only add to the love everyone would receive. They are, indeed, a "family of love".
Looks like the Kinney household will be hosting future Thanksgiving dinners. Brian may protest, but I think he's secretly pleased. He like to do good deeds; he's just uncomfortable with praise.
Author's Response: Glad you enjoyed the Turkey Day celebration, lots of people, lots of food. I think it was important to let the "boys"know the twins were not going to replace them. I think Kevin is used to being taken care of so he is happy to think there are going to be new babies that he can help care for. Brian probably realizes this was not a one time event and has made his peace with it. As long as he can "disappear" when he has had enough I think you are correct, he is pleased by it. Thanks for catching up on reviews as well as reading!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Aw, the boys have such big hearts, helping Deb by paying off her mortgage. <3 If only Michael weren't such a parasite, Deb's life would be less stressful and much happier.
It's so sweet the way Carl, Justin, Jen, Alice, and Brian are on the same wavelength about hosting Thanksgiving dinner. LOL, the way Brian relies on Justin to run interference so he can have as little involvement as possible. Justin can always pay him with blowjobs for being so magnanimous. ;)
Hooray! Joe's been expelled; the school took the right action. I wonder whether Frank will try some other type of revenge. Clearly, attempting to get other businesses to leave Kinnetik was bound to fail; those businesses want to be with the best ad agency, the one that brings in customers. I'm a bit worried that Frank might try some kind of physical attack.
Author's Response: Deb has been there for them when they needed her so I'm sure B&J are happy to repay her for her help. More on Mikey being Mikey in future chapter. It seems inevitable that Thanksgiving dinner be at B&J's house. Brain can pretend to hate things he actually enjoys while Justin takes care fo teh details. I think Justin is happy to "pay" Brian with oral attentions. I think Frank would be foolish to try anything physical, if he comes to the house Alice may seriously harm him. Thanks for another review!!!! Bill

What a marvelous chapter!
I like how Brian firmly dealt with Joan in regard to Claire. Carole was right to distinguish between Joan and Jen. Jen's the real mother than Joan doesn't care to be.
Squeeing with happiness over the twins for Justin and Brian. :)
I love the way Justin insisted on hearing what happened to Peter at school directly from Peter. He knows he can trust Peter to tell him the truth (vs. the administrators who might slant the story to suit their own interests).
Justin and Brian stay strong in their anti-bullying stance, not accepting any excuses from school administrators, Joe, or Joe's parents. Sad that Frank has molded his son into a bully in his own image, one who's 'forceful' to get his own way. Without intervention, Joe's not going to change; it may already be too late.
Wow! Those mighty women: Cynthia, Jennifer, and Alice! Cynthia makes the best suggestion about approaching Harkins' Tires chief competitor to advertise for them. She delights in telling Frank that he's no longer a Kinnetik client.
The extended family and Kinnetik employees, as well as many parents of Peter's classmates all rally behind the Peter, Justin, and Brian, just as they should.
I'm behind in reading my favorite QaF stories, of which yours is definitely one. The upside is that I have four more chapters of reading enjoyment before I'm caught up. Yum!
Author's Response: Brian usually doesn't have any trouble lettng his mother know how he feels. Joan mostly lives in her own reality that doesn't really translate well to real life. Justin has had some unpleasant experience with bullying and school adminstrators so he was smart to go to the source for his information. The ladies are always looking out for B&J. I think it will be interesting to see B&J dealing with twins. Hope you enjoy all the chapters as you catch up on the story. Thanks for the review!!!!! Bill

Hi Sweet B., I really enjoyed this update and am eager for the next update when Brian and Justin inform dear Joan of how her healing and caregivers will effect her life in the near future, wait till she finds out about adult day care! No wonder Justin was laughing at the renewed "friendship" of Brian and Marilu, talk about Karma. mikey never changes, it is always about him, and how his mother needs to pay his bills or Brian being a patsy for his money needs. It would make my day if the credit union called Ben and he stopped payment on the cashiers check meant for rent on mikey's store. I was suprised Deb refused to help mikey, a first for her to grow a backbone where her son is concerned. Like your prevous story and each chapter in this one, you hold our interest and you make the charactors come alive, you have a talent for this and I'm thrilled you share. Your loving Sally
Author's Response: Darling Sally, always makes me happy to see your comments!!! So you don't think Joan will be thrilled with the arrangements that Brian & Justin have made. That is surprising Joan always seems so willing to compromise and go with the flow but maybe you are correct. We'll see what happens in the next chapter. Justin was laughing and I imagine Marilu was crying on the inside. I think maybe B&J paying off her mortgage opened Debbie's eyes a little to the fact that people grow up and help other people they don't always rely on other people to solve their problems like Michael does. I don't think Ben will be too understanding when he finds out what Mikey has done. Ben may not be too Zen. Thanks for the nice comments!! I love hearing from the readers and that is what keeps me writing the story. I really appreciate all your support!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your sweet Baboo

Now Marilu and Joan totally deserve each other.....hope they make each other's life hell...... Michael, Michael, Michael - can't wait until Ben finds out - I wonder if he'll lose his 'cool' - would definitely like to see that. Really enjoying Ted's friendship and loyalty to the boys and very happy to see that Debbie is standing up to Michael - about time. Looking forward to the next instalment.
Author's Response: I think both of them having to deal with snarky Brian may be punishment enough for them. I think there is a pretty good chance of Ben losing his cool!!! I think Debbie's other "sons" easing her financial burden may have opened her eyes a little to Mikey's shortcomings and need to grow up and stand on his own two feet. Thanks for taking time to review!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

That Michael is something else...I don't think Ben is going to be too thrilled about what he has done. Meanwhile, Joan is probably going to raise all kinds of hell about her new situation...can't wait to see what happens next
Author's Response: I thik Ben will be less then thrilled about Michael's use of the money. Joan is not a happy person and I think the current situation will NOT make her any happier or easier to be around. Brian will need Justin's calming influence. Thanks for reviewing!!!! Bill

Wow 3 in a month and I did not expect this one until next week if it happened at all. So thank you make me almost want to ask for a fourth but I will just be happy with 3. I don't see Joan dealing very well with a stranger helping her out. And my obvious and only complaint with this chapter way too much Mikey and Ben is going to kill him or if he is smart sell Michael's toys to get back the money my bet is that money was for something and not to get Michael's rent paid. Kind of hope Ben just leaves and first he takes Michael of the account. I like the present Ted, Blake and Emmett are getting Deb it's a great idea. I wonder what the boys will think when Brian and Justin tell them about Joan. I loved how Justin kept up a stream of calming babble because he knew that Brian just needed to know he was there and that was the best way. Can't wait for more thanks again for the 3
Author's Response: I am glad not to have disappointed you. I believe you are correct about Joanie but what will the solution be??? Ben kills Mikey - that would be an interesting plot twist. I'll have to think about that. He could sell all the "collectables" for his defense fund. You are right about the money in the joint account having a purpose - like paying the house bills. New stove, new counters and door fronts, Debbie will be in heaven. I think John & Peter actually love their grandmother and will be concerned about her. She has been a big part of their lives even if it wasn't always a purely pleasant part. Glad you enjoyed at least part of thei chapter. Alway look forward to reading your comments!!!! Thanks for the review!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Apparently Joan thinks she has hid her drinking.
Michael is an ass and needs to grow up. I'm glad Deb refused to help him.
Something seems off about Michael getting that money so easily.
Marilu deserves whatever Brian put her through, bitch.
Great chapter.
Lorie
Author's Response: Hi Lorie, Joan lives in her own world where everything makes sense to her but no one else. Deb finally seems to be wising up. I don't think Mikey will think it was so easy to get his rent money when Ben finds out what he did!!! Thanks for taking time to review, you know I love to get them!!!!!! Bill

This was a fun read, especially of Justin and Brian over Joanie.
Can't wait to hear of Ben takes to Mikey wiping out their joint bank account, hope Ben gains some sense.
Love how Ted stood up to Mikey, he is such a "shite".
Love how you brought back Marilu, and Brian remembering her.
Fantastic update, thanks for sharing!
Always your fan, JoAnn
Author's Response: Hi JoAnn, happy to know you enjoyed this chapter. I don't think Ben will be thrilled to have his money (mostly) not only paying household expenses but also the rent on Mikey's store. Ted has gotten much more sure of himself. And Marilu remembered Brian!!!! Thanks for the review!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Joan can go in to assisted living. Still independent, but still have someone there if needed. Meals included. For a minute I thought Marilu e going to suggest Brian have her move in with them. What is she going to do in adult care but complain?
Michael. Well he'll have time to sell his valuable items, but will he be able to keep his marriage together after Ben finds out that the money is missing? He should've talked to Ben first before even going to Kinnetik. What an idiot.
Author's Response: Something tells me that Joan is not going into assitant living willingly. Of course I don't see her really enjoying home care either. I foresee issues with Joanie!! I think Marilu was too intimidated by Brian to make too many suggestions. I agree he should have talked to Ben!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the review!! LOL!! I had to laugh when the Social Services rep was none other than Marilu! funny that you brought her back in. Perhaps with all this she'll figure out exactly what type of person Joan really is! And when Brian told her that many in the parish considered her a saint...bwahaha! You must've been chuckling yourselfwhen you wrote that.
Micheal....well we all keep saying that Micheal is just micheal, but really....he's gone completely over the top now! He has this sense of entitlement that is terrible. Between you me and the lampost...that is one of my pet peeves i people. when they think they deserve things, or opportunities or even forgiveness. Drives me insane!!
The way he treats people is deplorable, yet he expects then to help him. He insinuated once again that ted may not be trustworthy, yet turns around an hour later asking for a hand out. (via Brian) and still insults him. Ugh...
And poor Deb! I mean really...how pathetic is this man. running to mommy for help! Buying more bloody toys, then draining his and Ben's joint account. I think somehow that in particualr will turn around and bite him in the ass!
Once again, I'm here with verbal diahhrea. Sorry.
Excellent chapter. It went by so quickly!
cheers
Elaine
Author's Response: Hi Elaine, always happy to see your comments. I did chuckle about Brian's description of his mother. Michael seems to be doing his best to alienate everyone in his life. Happy, happy, happy. I love your story and this chapter gave us a lot. It's nice that B&J are paying off Deb's mortgage. She deserves not having to work so hard. Joanie - while we didn't get to see much of her, she figured prominantly. She's still got her nose in the air, not wanting people to know about her drinking habits. After all the work Marilu went to getting Joanie set for recuperation, do you think Joanie will appreciate it? Then you threw Mikey at us. The nerve of him asking his mother for money, for staying home instead of opening the store just so he could by more toys! First he tries to get Brian to 'loan' him money by going through Ted. Fortunately Ted has more sense. I wonder what will happen when Ben finds out he withdrew the money from their joint account? Things do not bode well for Mikey. Your story makes me very happy!!!!
Author's Response: Hello my friend, I do not see Joanie being happy about anything that is being done for her. I have a suspicion it is not all going to work out as planned. Mikey is spreading happiness and joy where ever he goes. I am thinking Ben is going to be less than pleased about the outlay of cash from their "joint" account. Thanks for the nice review, always glad to hear from you!!!! Bill

Hi, Bill! Aaargh! You certainly keep us guessing where you're going with this story. Joan? Ugh! But not unexpected at all. Poor Brian - wants to do the right thing, even after the way his mother has treated him. Love how supportive this family unit of Brian and Justin's is. Shows what a true family reaily is, whether related by blood or not.
Thanks again for the update! Looking forward eagerly to more, of course. ~Kim
Author's Response: Hi Kim, have to have a little drama every once in a while. The big mystery is where will Joan wind up. Jennifer always says their family is joined by love. Glad you enjoyed this chapter. Thanks for the review!!! Bill
Reviewer: Blossomlegs (Signed) · Date: April 16, 2016 06:37 AM · On: Chapter 7
Mikey is still a B-----d, always complaining about how much of Brian's money Justin spends. Don't think even if Mikey was shown a bank balance of Justin's he still would insist that Brian gave it to Justin. So love how Brian stood up for himself and Justin, but as usual it flew right over Mikey's head. Blake was right onto Mikey's verbal assult regarding Ted,supporting him and stating how ethical an effecient he is with his job, also letting Mikey know that they are friends as well as Ted being an employee of Brian's. Like some other readers I don't understand Ben's attraction to Mikey, especially with Mikey being so selfish and rude.
The boys can't seem to get a break, now Joanie. Can't see her going back and living alone. Going to be some hard times when it comes towhere she will go.
I'm with Brian on Justin's decision in letting Linz help him with the mural. Know he has good intentions but I don't trust Linz. Even with her therapy, I have a feeling she would still stab you in the back and especially now that she and the rest of the family knows about the Twins. Hate to say I expect the worst from her, plus Mikey.
Fantastic update, plus the whole fic. Thanks for sharing!
JoAnn
Author's Response: Hi JoAnn, always great to hear from you. Mikey operates in a different universe than the rest of us. Reality has little meaning to him. I think Brian's words may have made a little chink in Mikey's self delusion armour. I think Ben enjoys having someon dependent on him and knows Brian has no romantic interest in Michael. The options of where Jona can go are very limited. Justin likes to look for the good in people and Brian is always suspicious. Might be a good idea to be a little suspicious of Lindsay's motives but maybe it will work out well for everyone???? Glad to know you enjoyed this chapter. Thanks for the review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Mickey did his best to ruin everything, but he failed. I think, it´s Ben who is hurting most. Why are they still a couple? And what will Hunter think? Poor guys, poor family...! Can´t anybody stop this shit with M.? I hope Blake´s and Brian´s word will reahc his heart.
B&J have so much love! Not too much harmony - thank Joanie. Will they take her in in the end? Will she be the nice grandma like Viola, as the boys deserve so much? Hahahah - just a crazy thought, that will never happen. It seems there are always some bumps in the road. Enjoyed this chapter, not Lindsays "ideas"...thank you and go on!
Author's Response: Hello my friend, always nice to see comments from you. Mikey still thinks that Justin is taking advantage of Brian. I think Ben is happy enough with Mikey as long as they have minimal interaction with Bran and Justin. I don't really see Joan as a nice grandma, she just have the personality to it. It will be difficult to find anyone to take care of Joan she is so hard to get along with. Happy to know you enjoyed this chapter. Thanks for reviewing, I enjoy getting those!!!! Bill

My Sweet Baboo, this chapter was terrific! As sure as death and taxes mikey was once again an ass. The way he talked to Ted, it was apalling that anyone even speaks to that clown. I thought that Kevin was so cute when telling his mom and dad about the babies, how they would be his cousins and the uncles said he could help. The Kinneys and the Taylors have shown such love and care and Kevin justs blooms when they are together. I guess I'm a cynic, I think Lindz is only being nice to Justin to please Brian so he will take her side on some hidden agenda. As for Joan I feel bad for her she pushes everyone away, at the same time I hurt for Brian--he tries but she won't give an inch, I guess there is always hope. More chapters please. Love, your Sally
Author's Response: Darling Sally, Always happy to hear from you! We can always count on Mikey although a review on another site was extremely unhappy with my take on Mikey. I enjoy the Kevin character a lot, he is all about love!!!!! Kevin is used to needing help so I think it is a big thrill fro him to have an opportunity to help. I think we are all wondering about Lindsay and what her plans are. Justin is being Justin and looking on the sunny side of the street. More on Joan in the next chapter. Poor boys - they seem go from one disaster to another - it's keeps life interesting. Michael is such a weasel - I'm glad Brian put him in his place and so eloquently too....LOL. I'm with Brian - I don't trust Lindsay - after everything she's done she'll need to prove she can be trusted but at the moment I keep thinking Justin will be hurt again. Ted really is a very good friend. It's a good thing that a break in Joan's habits caused the church to check on her - this could have ended so differently. I wonder how much trouble she's causing at the hospital - too much yelling could result in a doctor with a large needle of sedative and a physc evaluation - which might be a good thing. Looking forward to more.
Author's Response: But no disaster can defeat the B&J team. They will even be able to overcome the Mother of all disasters (clever play on words??). Brian gave Mikey food for thought, let's hope Mikey can digest it. Justin wants to give Lindsay the benefit of the doubt, we'll have to wait and see how that works out. I think we can be sure Joan is charming the ER staff in her own unique style, hope they have the hypos loaded and ready! Always good to read your comments!!!! Thanks, Bill

Had to figure Mikey would act like a baby since the actual babies are not there yet. I agree with Brian something bad will come from Lindsay helping with the murals. Time to put Joan in the nursing home because there is no where else for her to go and there is no chance of her going anywhere near Brian and Justin's house. Wow I think you are going to hit the goal I begged for thanks in advance of the third chapter in April.
Author's Response: Hope you are feeling OK, this is your shortest review ever! Justin is ready to give Lindsay a second chance, time will tell if she deserves it! Maybe Joan could rob a liqour store so she could wind up in prison with Claire. They could take care of each other. Somehow I don't think Joan will be willingly to a nursing home. Arrest may be the only alternative???? Even though it is short thanks for the review you know I love to get them!!!!!!!! Bill

Thanksgiving and the news of the twins was wonderful news for everyone. Being congratulated hugged and kissed is it any wonder Brian took off before it could start again with all the good-byes. Michael Michael Michael. Not only is he going to lose Brian's friendship, but probably Ted's too and if not careful maybe his husband. I'm with Brian, Lindsay helping on the murals is definitely asking for trouble. Have a feeling Brian and Justin are going to be having a house guest for a short while. And Christmas is right around the corner. Think there will be a change in Joan's thinking once she sees how Brian lives his life with Justin?
Author's Response: It was good Thanksgiving and I agree Brian took as much as he could and needed time away from hugs and emotions. Mikey is Mikey. I think LIndsay and Justin paiting murals could prove to be very interesting. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm Joan staying with B&J now there is a surpirse plot twist!!!!!! That could be really interesting. Babies! I am glad to see the future of this story being laid out ahead of us. I want to keep reading about this family for a long time!
Author's Response: It took them a while to get there but they do seem to have that support each other thing down now. I think twins will yield a lot of story lines. As long as the readers keep reviewing I'll keep writing. Thanks for letting me know you are still enjoying the story!!!! Bill

Michael, Michael, Michael... It sounds like Thanksgiving was a success, and everyone is thrilled about the twins, well almost everyone...
Maybe with Joan being in the tub for days, it might be a good time for her to check into rehab...
Great Update!
Hugs ~ Kathleen
Author's Response: Mikey is never changing. It is nice to have things in life that we can count on! I'm not sure that Joan is incapacitated enough for them to force her into rehab. Nothing wrong with her legs, she can still run and kick. Glad you enjoyed the update.
Hugs back, Bill

Michael sure is trying to alienate everyone in his life.
Love Brian explaining things to him like he is mentally challenged.
Don't know if Lindsay is coming around or what.
Love Brian and Justin's relationship.
Maybe he can put Joan in a home (not theirs)
Still loving this story.
Lorie
Author's Response: I believe that Brian thinks Mikey is mentally challenged, he has known him for a long time! We will have to wait and see how Lindsay behaves. Maybe electricity was the right answer for her. All I will say about Joanie is around and around she goes and where she lands nobody knows...yet??? Thanks for letting me know you are still loving the story, never get tired of hearing that!!!! Bill

I love of your stories there are too many angst fics out there between the boys I want to thank you for that anywho . This chapter was awesome I love how Blake put Michael in his place and Lindsey lol what is she up too I got a bad feeling about this
Author's Response: This is a low angst story, glad you enjoy that. The problem is Michael keeps excaping from his plave when people put him there. I agree Lindsay needs careful watching!! Thanks for taking time to review, I appreciate it!!!!!!!! Bill
