Yeah that was probably the worst time in the show that he could get cancer, what with Vic just dying. Sad arc on the show. But, you showed just how loving Deb could be.

I thought this story was great. I never could understand Brian's mother, I liked the word pods. Joan used the word cancer to tell him God was punishing him for being gay. Joan used the bible to explain why she was a poor excuse for a mother. Deb was broken-hearted when she heard the news, but vowed to help take care of him and watch over him. I remember she stopped on her way to work to go lite a candle for him every day. Joan went to mass everyday but I don't think it did her much good. Debbie knew what he needed and tried to help him. This was a really great story,thanks for sharing it.
Author's Response: You are most welcome, I think that Joan needs to read the original bible where same sex couples were celebrated not dammed. I love that Deb took Brian under her wing and showed him how a mother should love their child, he needed that.

Heart is in my stomach. It just dropped like a stone. Argh......that was awesome!! As a parent, I can't even imagine what she's feeling, but you really gave us a glimpse. That's a gift! so glad you are writing here and sharing these with us.
