Good little story!!   It was nice to see Brian and Claire on the same side for a change.    St. Joan really does take her for granted, and never extending a please or thank you for all that Claire does for her.

Author's Response:

This is a nicely different look at Claire.  I could never figure out if she was older or younger.  I kinda thought older because having another child with Joan would have been too much for Jack if Brian had been first born.  But I could see him having to marry her because she was pregnant.  Would like a Christmas tale with Claire in New York.

Author's Response:

Hi

So thrilled to see a comment from you here. Your ongoing support and encouraging feedback mean so much to me.

And as for Claire younger than brian in this story- thank you so much for your attention to details and for pointing that out. I'm typing your question into goggle search while I'm respoding to you and you're right- she is his older sister. I stand corrected. That's the power of QaF fandom, I guess :)

I'm thrilled to know you think this story deserves a Christmas tale in NYC :)

This was very sweet. Claire and Brian finally reconnecting after all these years due to a misguided attempt to spend the holiday with their mother, turned out to be the best thing for them. They can finally become a true family.  Maybe Joan's house will go to hell now, that it had gay sex in it, hehe.

I thought it was kind of funny when Claire asked Brian, Do you know anything about him?  No Claire, I picked him up on the street corner on my way over here.  Come on, Claire, get real. And what's with that poor excuse of an ex-husband? The boy's didn't sound too enthusiastic about going with him.

When Joan said she made green Jello salad, I had to laugh. Ever since years ago when I watched Chevy Chase's, "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" and the crazy aunt brought the green jello with the cat food in it, I haven't been able to eat it. Give me any other flavor than green, and I'm good.

I really liked this. Maybe you can do a follow-up on that Christmas family get together.

XOXO ~ Cathy

Author's Response:

Hi Cathy

So thrilled to see a comment from you here on this story. Your profound thoughtful feedback means the words to me. I'm so thriiled you enjoyed the more intense side of this story, as well as the comidic sides. I actually never had green Jello salad but it made sense to me that Joan would make such a thing. I liked your green jellp salad association btw :)

I'm thrilled to know you liked this story enough to think it deserves a sequel :)

i LOVED YOUR STORY AND THE NEW TAKE ON BRIAN AND HIS SISTER. I OFTEN WONDERED THEM BEING RAISED BY SUCH UNFEELING PARENTS WHY THEY DIDN'T SEEK SOLACE IN EACH OTHER. THANK YOU
