So sad to see the end of this series. I loved the newly introduced characters and how Emmett and Ted once again had Brian's back. Hi there again. i just wanted to ask about the background of the characters. Since Brian and justin didn't meet until what seems like after the 5th season, did all the story lines in the orginal qaf show happen? You mentioned the bashing, Mikey marrying Ben, Ted and Blake, Emmet and Drew bur what about Brian's storylines? And why was Gus born into the story so late? I'm sorry if i asked yo too much it's just that i really wanted to understand the story better.
It would be good also to get some background on the other characters like Jake and Miguel etc etc.
I know you finished the story it's just that i can't seem to get enough of it, i itching for another sequel
Author's Response: Hey again. *grins* I wanted to write Leather Bound but I never believed Brian was emotionally stable enough to be a Dom and while Justin had the emotional stability, he didn't have the experience. That's why I push the timeline a few years, to give Justin time to have that experience. I didn't change any of the other characters with the exception of Gus being born later because I wanted Justin to be there, so I had to push that timeline forward. What more do you want to know about the original characters? I hope I've answered at least a couple of your questions.

Brian has come to accept that there are people in his life who really care for him. Author's Response: Hey Anonymous, I explained my reasons in Gina's comment. As for Mel, well I think Justin made his point with Melanie when he compared her to the homophobes. Mel wouldn't like that at all and I think that would make her look twice at what she was doing. Melanie would hate taking money from anyone...she's fiercely independent, but she is also a realist. She wouldn't deny things to her children just to prove a point. If the guys had made it a choice like...take the money and drop the case or keep going with the case and get no money...then Mel would have told them to go fuck themselves, but the way it was handled...I think she'd step back and see the advantages to her kids. I think Justin, Chris and Jake should haven't offered so much. It's not their place, it's Brian's. (at least as far as Gus is concerned ) Brian and Justin's. I wonder how Brian will feel about Justin, Chris and Jake taking over the finacial responsibility for his son's schooling? and home? This chapter was a little uncomfortable for me. I was not comfortable with the boys stepping in like they did. Having said that, you know how addicted I am to your stories! I do love how Justin is trying to help Brian and the way he continues to care for him. Looking forward to an update.
Author's Response: Hey Gina! I didn't want to write another court battle fic. So, I sat down and thought about what was going on in the story, and how Justin handled Kip Thomas in the show...after thinking about it for awhile, I decided that Justin would do whatever he could to "fix" things for Brian. As far as the other characters, well they all love Justin and Brian and they have money to burn so to speak...so I can see them doing this to help out Brian and Gus. How does Brian feel about them doing it? Well, Brian has come a long way from the man he was when he met Justin. He no longer feels threatened about asking for help, so he will see this as his friends helping him...nothing more. I can understand how some people would see this as the guys sticking their noses into something that was none of their business, but this is Jake we're talking about here...LOL. They look at it as taking care of their family. How many times did Brian do just that for his friends...remember he even offered to pay for Deb's house. So, I know it wasn't a perfect solution to the problem, but I do think it works for the story and the characters. I'm glad you still like the story. It must have been hard for Chris not to just take Alex in his arms and tell him everything would be OK. Good thing he understands Alex so well. I have to admit that I missed the significance of the whip- did Alex want it used on him to help him forget? Is that what he meant when it said ‘make it stop’? Wonderful, wondeful, wonderful!!! another fantastic ep! I do like hearing about the other characters as it si like they are now Brian's family and so of course we want to know! However Alextires to exorcise hie demons will be what works for him but if he is feeling like that he really does need to find a positive way to do it for both himself and the court case as when he is needled by the opposing attorney he is likely to explode and then they cna exploit that as being an example of the kind of people Gus will be expose to! (EEEK now I have more pacing to do till the next ep!) Fantastic but worrying! :)
